[X] Get legal with this and have Thrawn formally defend her in a trial. It doesn't matter who or what Thrawn's up against, he can tear apart the prosecution's argument, and he's disturbingly eager to do it.

Here's a question, does Thrawn actually exist legally as a person in the Republic? Cause if I remember correctly, he never went through Customs and Immigration, we just rescued him from a barren planet. Second, does Thrwan have a Law Degree, because I doubt that any court system, even one as corrupt the Republic, would allow a defender to not have passed their BAR equivalent?

Oh Thrawn has a BAR equivalent. The documents he has prove it. No you can't examine them closely, they're being held in a secure box on Scipio. Shut up.

As for the official documentation thing it's been years since Thrawn was first picked up so I'd hope he'd have proper documentation by now anyway.

[X] Work with Ahsoka to try and draw out the bomber. Obviously the riskiest option but it might give you a shot at Bulq, either directly or indirectly.

I got ninja'd by the update and didn't even notice.

Anyway, I'd prefer if we had evidence before taking it to court. Even if Thrawn verbally destroying Tarkin would be awesome.

[X] Work with Ahsoka to try and draw out the bomber. Meanwhile, have Thrawn prepare his legal case. Risky, but could gather additional evidence to prove her innocence.
-[X] Regardless of success, Ahsoka's defense will be prepared in the meantime. Better to have every angle covered.

[X] Inform the Sentinels that Dark Jedi were encountered in the underworld during our search for Ashoka. Due to this Ashoka's trail was lost so we're still searching. Ask them to interview all of Ashoka's acquaintances and allow us to witness the interviews and make suggestions for questions during them (allowing Ashoka to listen in remotely). Also ask them to look into the Dark Jedi issue within the Order's ranks. State our suspicions that there was likely more than one individual in on it and that if it was actually a Jedi who did it then they might have had more inside help than just unwitting protesters and the maintenance victim.

I still want to use the shapeshifting force users as bait.

So long as Ciaran lives we can still help the resistance until the Empire falls.

Why would we want the Empire to fall? When it wasn't having its stupid evil moments, it was a much better force for peace and good in the galaxy than the Republic was, and was better than the New Republic was. Unless we want the Empire to fall so we have an easier time being a criminal..

Obviously the empire must fall so we can build something with our name on it in its place.

[X] Inform them that the person behind the frame up is likely to be Jedi that has had personal interaction with Ahsoka and knows her well. They may or may not be the bomber, but it is highly unlikely that they are working alone as at least two Dark Jedi were encountered in the Undercity. High possibility of Dark Jedi Sect with people inside the Jedi Temple.

This would work, and heck we may be able to take in some force users.

Thrawn, Ace Attorney is amusing....

Thrawn is good, but when Palpatine is the judge, I won't doubt for a second that he won't switch to the inquisitorial system if it looks like he's loosing.

(For those not in the know, it's the system for which our favourite 'OBJECTION!' lawyer operates under. The Judge is the one to decide guilty or not guilty.)

Obviously the empire must fall so we can build something with our name on it in its place.

No, we would oust Palpatine and crown Ciaran Empress and then begin the process of reforming the Empire away stupid or blatant evil and towards a more... progressive stance.

We have the power of ALL THE SPYS, why wouldn't we use our insane amount of intrigue to hunt these guys down?
To be fair, we also have the power of ALL THE TALKING (just look at our Diplo stats), so we could equally use our insane amount of charisma + reputation to diplomance our way to bring down the conspiracy.

Also: the problem with the "Inform (the Jedi) that the person behind the frame-up is likely to be a Jedi that has had personal interaction with Ahsoka and knows her well" write-in is... wouldn't that not-so-subtly imply to the Jedi (or whoever we tell) that we know where Ahsoka is, or at least have interacted with her since her escape? That strikes me as potentially dangerous...

I know Ashoka would rather hunt down the criminal... But I dearly want to see this scene.

In hindsight, given Bulq' role in manipulating disturbed and disaffected Jedi he really does make an excellent piece to the puzzle of Barriss Offee.

Maybe change it so that we ask the Sentinels to focus on those Ashoka was close to? Allow us or let us listen in on an interview - *cough* - interrogation - *cough* of her acquaintances?

can always legal it up at a later date
even if i would not mind at all seeing tarkin taking a hard public fall

About what we tell the Jedi Sentinels, can we add "What have you been doing that you can't even detect a Dark Jedi Sect with agents inside the very temple?"
Unlike canon where Bariss's actions are kinda out of the blue, here there are people working to turn the Jedi... and I remind you that the Jedi (the Coruscant Order-based ones), baring exceptions, all live within the same temple unless on mission. This time, if the situation is uncovered, the Jedi should seriously take a long hard look at themselves, because something is obviously wrong.

Everybody, Publicola brought up a good point. If we inform them about "the frame up" we'll then indirectly inform them we don't by into the current view. We might want to continue stringing along the Sentinels as well so that we don't let them know we're on Ashoka's side (even though we most certainly are).
