I read the quest but I can't seem to remember that incident. Can you give more detail about what happened?
IIRC, it was when the Gardener of Nurgle had basically taken everything we could throw at it, only making everything worse, and the options were basically 'try again and probably die' (nothing we had was hurting it), or 'run away and the entire star system gets pulled into the Warp'. So the Players decided on "Fuck it, become a Tree", and decided to basically let the crystal-trees eat us alive while we biomance them into dragons and attack the Greater Daemon.

Then again, there was also the incident where she was stuck in the Warp fighting that Dark Elder fuck, and after it died there was all those other Daemons ready to tear us apart, and she made a high enough Will Save to the point where Khorn was like "y'all have some serious balls" and helped us out in the fighting.

And then there was the time where she ate a Changer of Ways. . .
How high are we talking in character creation? I would like some numbers on that. And I'm pretty sure that high roll was a nat 100. Though I could never find the backstory or what that guy was supposed to be.
I actually don't think the rolls were all that crazy, just a bunch of high rolls and near crits that put our PC solidly on the Supernatural spectrum. Which wasn't all that big a problem, except that the setting was supposed to be low-fantasy, with no real magic outside the Apostles(?) like it was in the original GATE. So the QM rewrote the setting to be more High-fantasy so that we were less of an outlier, so we could actually grow and advance in things. IIRC, the QM had mentioned that in hindsight the tables he were using had probably skewed things that direction. As for the boss that died, he talked about him in posts between updates. 'There is no GATE' doesn't tend to have lots of super crits, just lots of consistently high rolls that cause things to snowball.

edit:
1. It's spelled faux. Pho is a noodle soup.
I think he means PHO, as in the interlude style used in Worm and it's fanfics.

That...has some truth to that honestly. Though we aren't the diplomancing god that Sheridan is. Though it seems that unlike Sheridan, who was limited due to being human, we can rise up to the heights that the power players are.

Well it wasn't meant to be exact. He focused on disaster prevention and clean up, we snuff them out as they appear and are much more involved the actual response than C.O.R.E. was because we have the power to deal with them instead of just pointing someone else at it.

The thing that changed everything the most was critting on the Oath. That changed how the region was handled more than any other single action and opened so many doors.

Edit: I miss that quest. My salt levels are still too high to go back though.

Not sure if this was asked, but what's so special about the lava crystal?

Also MobiusC, What the hell was the PC of the Age of Strife by the end of it?! She sounds like that one person that Chaos is like "Oh no, She's there, prepare for something stupid and out of left field to happen".

To the effect of beating insane rolls, here's the bonuses we can get for each category without Watcher or Hero Support but with Personal Attention:

Martial: 31 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 5 (Built in Bonuses) + 5 (if CNS) + 20 (Omake Overdose)= +66-71
Diplomacy: 30 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 5 (Built in Bonuses) + 5 (if CNS) + 20 (Omake Overdose) = +65-70
Stewardship: 24 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 10 (Built in Bonuses) + 20 (Omake Overdose) = +64
Intrigue: 36 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 15 (Built in Bonuses) + 20 (Omake Overdose) = +81
Lore: 43 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 5 (Built in Bonus) + 20 (Omake Overdose) = +78
Learning: 18 (PA) + 10 (Force Vision) + 20 (Built in Bonuses) + 5 (if Vs. Mutants) +5 (if Medical) + 20 (Omake Overdose) = +68-78

There's a reason I've called Personal Attention a Crit Button.

I'm honestly surprised there don't seem to be any negaverse quest omakes for this story, you'd think there'd be at least some.

The exploding die happened on both sides, so out-of-left-field shit happened to the PC too, and she wouldn't always succeed. What I mentioned in the spoiler are the more memorable successes, but the situations wouldn't have even happened in the first place if whoever the enemy was at the time didn't also crit like crazy.

Okay, so it's more counter her bull with our bull.

What happened?

You're kidding.

A Quest that epic gets shut down because of that shit...?
Nah, it wasn't shut down. It's that there was a voting period for a while on who the PC was going to marry, and each one came with bonuses and such. It was a CKII-style quest so it was a rather important decision. Arguments got heated and drew mod attention; there was a compromise solution eventually found that most people seem okay with, but the whole situation was a total shit show.

*eye twitches at the stupidity that is Waifu Wars"

JUST ROLL A FUCKING DICE AND BE DONE WITH IT!

Edit: *Looks at the above post* Oh, okay then. Didn't catch that.

It's been over a year and I can still rant about it easily. I wasn't actually that upset about the result, it's the way the vote was handled that pissed me off to no end. I lost all respect for several of the most vocal voters because of how they we acting and the QM didn't do near enough to curb the behavior and misinformation they were spreading.

I don't actually remember the mods coming in during that vote, but I certainly didn't read all 100+ pages of that shit show.

The crystal causes splash damage against opponents from fire and lava sparking or dripping from the blade.

It wasn't that.... QM put up a poll. Still they allowed concubines.

And it's still running. It's just sporadic updates.

honestly im glad there hasnt been any waifu's so far
well, there are some, but nobody is going for it
(the one's i see are asajj, anikan, obi and padme )

I'm with Team Thrawn.

I still say Fredrick 'The Drunken Badass' had a worse waifu war.
