--[X] We begin to form a story about a world wherein a person is born with an affinity to 'something'. This 'something' can be anything, ranging from cooking to swordplay, writing to ditchdigging. It is never obvious what that 'something' is until you have actually done the action itself. The story focuses on a young/mid 20s adult who has yet to find what their niche is, and explores them as they try to figure it out, faking already having it in order to continue being a part of their community.

You had the perfect lines.

Well actually, they were not perfect, but by god, they were funny in your head.

Every time you work on them, more material from your memories and the stories you heard from your father, clint and others flooded into the material.

it was incredible just how much material you had.

And you used every bit of it.

Reward: +5 to writing stat.

Go to a bar or something to make jokes: You wanted to try some comedy, perhaps you can try. even with your shit timing. DC 50 (Your Lack of comedy chops is going to be something that will bite you.)

"so Here I was in high school, it happened in High School, and uh, we had this teacher, called Mr. O'Maily and he had this kid called Jack. O'maily, he was a sophomore, I was an uh, senior. May not look like it but I was a senior. See, Mr. O'Maily was an absolute cunt, like, if you had a picture to describe how badly he was a cunt, he would be the dictionary photo of it. We all hated him, he was a bloody cunt, now, he and his wife, were going out of town. And that's a terrible idea because he was such a cunt.

So we decided to throw a party, at Mr. O'Maily's house. Hurray...

And word spread around town, and we decided to destroy the place.

So I walked into this party, and everyone whom I'd ever known was there, and everyone was drinking like it was the end of the world. Like it was the civil war, and a surgeon coming our way to saw something off, it was bloody wild.

Utterly unsupervised.

Like dogs without horses, we were running wild.

And I walked down to the basement, they had a pool table in the basement, and one of my mates, took a running start and broke the entire bloody thing in half with his body, and didn't get up.

Then one of the mates discovered Mr. O'Maily's bedroom and took a shit on his bed. Right on his bed, it was wild.

The Party was going fantastically.

Now I'm holding a glass, you've seen the glass. And I was starting to black out. I was hammered.

I guess someone said, something police.

So in a brilliant moment of word association, I decided to say the one thing that a drunk Irishman should say when the coppers come.

FUCK THE POLICE!

And everyone else joined in, all 100 lads and lasses at this party, they were so drunk...

And we all shouted fuck the police.

I can't remember much about what happened, cause I work up in my bed, and had no idea how in blazes I got there.

And when I went back to school on Monday, because that's what we did after illegally fucking a man's house, I saw jack.

He asked me if I was at the party. He didn't remember a thing that night.

And I told him no.

Needless to say that Mr. O'Maily was incredulous, and wasn't as much of a cunt ever again.

Reward: Your comedy is a riot act. Vegas wants to try and keep you around as a headliner.

Bad timing no longer affects you.

---------
The Dating Scene: You want to meet someone, and perhaps, get a girlfriend. Maybe you can do that. DC 15(You go on a blind date)

Roll: 30+10=40

The girl was a party girl on vacation with her rich whale of a father, a professional poker player that was playing in a tournament being held in the city.

Her name was Alison Ashmore, and you were going to be completely honest, she was kinda boring once you got past the good looks and the cheery smile.

Sure the red dress she wore was something breathtaking, but then again, the time you spent together was mixed.

When you first met, she was seemingly a pretty face that was board of the desert and the heat. And she was trying to handle the situation as best she could. and you took your chance with the whole introduction.

She did not recognize you as a movie star or a commercial but instead thought you were working for the hotel. It was not really the best thing to be there, and she had immediately wondered if you could get booze from the hotel so she could get hammered.

You did not do that.

To say that the date you had was something of a disaster was an understatement.

Her parents caught your show after you had done it, and they were appalled by your foul-mouthed and crass humor. And then she hugged you.

You had feared that a shotgun would be pulled on you and you would be brought down to the county courthouse.

Instead, you quietly explained how you met, and that you were just going to have a date before he left.

That got you a table for two...

And her parents were watching every moment.

A mood killer to be sure.

And you realized she was far more than your first thought.

Everything she talked about was surface-level knowledge about anything, and she clearly did not have the tact. Yet there was a charm in her conversations, and she clearly knew what she was talking about in the world of fashion and gossip. in fact, you learned she was a tailor.

Every time you changed the subject she was excited and eager to talk about it before she showed knowledge of the subjects you talked about, and it was honestly refreshing.

After the fifth time, it was clear she was running out of subjects she knew by heart, and then was grasping at the straws.

After the tenth time, it was clear she could keep going with basic knowledge, and she was going to keep up.

Then you talked about movies and showed your clear understanding of the art and science of moviemaking. That made her listen to every word you had.

After the meal was done, you quietly excused yourself and got yourself back to the room...
And she left a nice note.

Reward: You have met Alison Ashmore.

She was nice, charming and well read, but nothing really more.

You had looked at the suitcase and then at the family that had shown you nothing but kindness in the last year you were here. Clint was squinting and being his usual self when he saw you and quietly waved. "Bruce, good to see you."

You nodded as you walked forward and gave everyone a hug. "Thanks Clint."

"You in town for a bit?" He asked as he sat and you did as well by the pool, the kids playing around and Clints wife getting some water for the both of you.

"Actually I'm conducting business with an apartment building, and I have a large ownership stake in it." You replied. "Turns out all that money I made is being used wisely."

"You talk to your parents about that?" He asked as you were served a glass of water.

"No." You replied. "I'm thinking of living in the building though."

Clint then coughed. "You sure you can handle the responsibility of that? it's a very big responsibility."

"I think it will be a good thing CLint, and that if I'm lucky, things will be working out for me, and maybe if the acting thing doesn't work, then things might work out well in real estate."

Clint laughed. "Well then, don't take my advice if everything is all settled for you."

"Yeah i'm just worried about a lot of things. Mostly getting work." You replied.

"Well don't be scared for work, that is always going to be a problem. Just keep doing what you are doing and then everything will be alright." Clint replied.

"Oh and I think that I'm forgetting something." You then handed over the suitcase.

Clint tried to protest. "wait a minute, if that's what-"

"It is." You replied. "And I won't take no for an answer. You showed enough kindness to last a lifetime and I still don't think it will be enough."

"Bruce I cannot accept-" Clint protested.

"Then don't take my money, give it to your kids." You replied. "Just for the love of god, don't try and send it back."

Clint knew that you were stubborn. "Very well." He took a deep breath, clearly not happy about what had just happened. "Good luck Bruce."

Reward: You have repaid the kindness The Eastwood family showed you, even though they did not want the money.

-50,000 USD.

[X]Buy a House: You want to buy a home. You have the money for it, so might as well do it. (Write in where you want to live, and the amount of money you want to spend.) DC: ??? Reward: You buy a house. (LA. 100,000 USD)

The Building was huge, with over 10 stories and well over 100 rooms. The Apartment building was still barely close to finishing construction, but a group of buys were short on funds to actually buy the property.

But the company had somehow went over budget, and then the group who built it raised their prices to cover the costs of the delays.

The group of people, the investrors in the building, were more then happy to have you join the group to foot the last of the bill.

Then the group was ripped apart by in fighting over who actually owned the building how much each would get paid and

All the while you bought some furnishings, and started to live there. No one else who was part of the group really noticed... until you decided to furnish the entire building (Rather cheaply, it only cost you less then a thousand dollars).

Everyone was amazed, and you did not really care. You had a 15% stake in the building, and you just wanted then to hurry up and get on with their arguments so they can rent it our already.

After being shown up by a teenager, the group got its act together and helped rent out the rooms. And they did not seem to mind that you took the best one for yourself, seeing as you furnished the place for them.

Reward: Have a partial ownership of an apartment building.

You make 5,000 dollars per month from rent.

You also have an apartment all to yourself. Gain +1 action.

It was actually rather simple. Fill out a few papers, explain to them you worked on a movie and had a credit in the film, pay a fee and viola...

You were now officially a member of the SAG.

You now have the rights and privileges of a member of the SAG.

Reward: You are a member of the SAG.

Since you are a minor, the remainder of your pay from the Fists of Fury will be set aside in the Coogan account, where it is untouchable for the next two years.

It is also tax free.

Roles Offered:

You recived many offers for rolls on TV.

You even have a choice on what to choose.

[]Colombo: You have been given a job as a heavy of Colombo, a murderer that has an ingenious scheme, of hiding his involvement. Not only hiding out in a public place with dozens of witnesses around, but also destroying the murder weapon by burning it. Its a job that requires sophistication, class and charm, something you have abundence of. (Be a TV Heavy for Peter Falk's Colombo)

[]Mcloud: Another Heavy Role, but this time a more physical precense was needed, and considering your stature, and dashing good looks, you were given the spot of a New York Gangster in Hells Kitchen. (Be a TV Heavy in Mcloud)

[]MASH: You were given a call from Brooks about a young man being needed for a TV show. And you of course listened to him, how one producer Larry Gelbert actually saw your Vegas performances last month and thought you were a riot act and wanted to call you in, but no one knew who you were, and he was flashing around a picture of you everywhere in Hollywood. It wasn't until Brooks saw the photo that the two men finally talked to you. Gelbert wanted you on the show he was developing, as a character from the Novel. Corporal Walter Eugene O'Reilly, or known as Radar O'Reilly in the script. (You have been offered the Role of Radar O'Reilly on MASH)

A MASH of a Meeting (October 1971)
You kept twiddling your thumbs as you waited for the interview to begin. There was tripe of the usual Hollywood types, secretaries, other producers, and of course, another, more sinister sort that was watching you. The Talent Scouts, the producers who wanted their ideas to win… while there was possibly the most important thing of all that could cause you to set about.

The Heads of the studios themselves were wandering about. They were looking for the next big thing, hoping and listening to the next show.

Yet you took a moment to take a breath and remember to breathe. Remember some of the techniques that Bruce taught you when you were training.

It kept you calm, despite the various looks it got from the others who were watching you.

Everyone marveled at the sight of a young man, so calm, just waiting and sitting and otherwise… Being better and less afraid than everyone else.

Then the door opened, and you saw the man you were waiting for, Larry Gelbert. "Mister O'Brian." He said your name as you stood up. "Come in."

You walked into the room and took a seat, opening up as you quietly gave a small smile to the producer. Then Larry sat down.

"You asked me here?" You stated a question rather than a true statement. That made the producer look at you curiously.

"Indeed." He said. "You see there is this show I am developing, something that I hold quite a bit of faith in."

"I read the script, quite funny, but why me, if you don't mind me asking? What is the appeal you see in me?" You asked.

Larry smiled. "Quite simple, your young, cheap, and my eye for talent is impeccable?"

You frowned as you crossed your arms. "Cheap? I get the eye for talent, and I know I am that good but cheap?"

"First job in Hollywood, most people would kill to be in your position? Especially after a show in Vegas?"

"Not my first job." You replied. "I worked in China with Bruce Lee."

That made the producer frown before he looked at the picture again. Then he asked. "Goose?"

"A Funny nickname that I will never escape, so lets stick to Bruce or O'Brian." You stated bluntly. "Now, let's talk."

"Didn't think you would work on TV?" He asked.

"Well, I have been of the proposition that work can lead to work. And that a job is a job. It's only when passion gets involved that it can become more. Haven't found one that has the passion yet." You smiled. "Just the need to get cash?"

Larry then changed the subject. "You have a knack for comedy."

"Pretty terrible at it to be honest." You replied. "People think the material is what you need, but you need timing, sense and just being real. Unfortunately, that isn't me. I never had it."

"Yet you worked in Vegas, for over a month, and drew the most crowds that that casino had ever seen. Could have made a lot of money." He stated. "Why did you leave?"

"Business opportunity. That and my joy in life is acting, can't do that on stage telling jokes." You replied.

At that Larry nodded. "Yet I have one more question. One more. What do you think gets your attention on this show?"

What caught your attention?:

  • [x]Plan: I wanna Be a Star
-[x]To be honest, I have never worked on Television before, and there is a possibility that I will enjoy every moment of this celluloid. But that is not a good enough answer for people like you, so I might as well make it clear then. I want to be an actor that can do everything. Provide the biggest laughs. Cries, and even make people ask themselves the questions that they know won't be answered just from watching TV. But at the end of the day, I want to work and be an actor. And this is work, as an actor.
-[x]"What I will take is the standard SAG minimum wage for an actor on screen. But in exchange, I want to have a residual Rerun check for every time the show's syndication reruns, at 5 to 10% of the Gross revenue per episode that I appear in. I have that much faith in this show. I really do. This is my way of showing it."

Flew Too Close to the Sun: Turn 9 (November 1971)
The Production Begins:

Negotiation Roll: 53-20=33

Twenty minutes passed before you actually saw Larry again. And he was not happy. Well not as happy as you thought

Larry looked at you with bewilderment at what you just said. 5% to 10%" He stated as he took a moment to think. "That is insanity, even beyond the simple fact that the producers would never allow you to take that much of the final cut."

"Even though I am agreeing to work minimum wage for my contract, I will do my utmost to handle the shooting situation regardless of the situation that may find me." You paused before thinking of the word.

"The very fact you are working minimum wage was the only reason we would think that your offer has merit." He replied. "The producers and the money men, and I believe that such a sacrifice should be compensated."

You nodded. "So what?"

"We have agreed to give you 3%." He replied.

"That's-" you protested, but instead Larry spoke first.

"Kid, you may have my attention, but you are in no position to negotiate with me, or anyone else when it comes to money and what you are worth." He stated. "You are worth minimum wage, and 3% of residuals."

-------------------------------------------------------

You looked at Clint and took a sip of water. "You asked for 10%?" He laughed as he took a moment to breathe to think. "Kid not even producers get that much money unless there was some good reason." He smiled. "You have balls."

"Well I decided to work minimum wage for the first few seasons... and I managed to get 3%." You replied.

That made Clint smile. "Well, you have a good idea, because you gave them something in return. That may mean they might not see you as an asshole."

"An Asshole? Clint, you know me, I don't act like an asshole, unlike others I've heard of like Brando." You replied.

"Well, that is the thing, you asked for too much when you have no star power, no name recognition, and are young. The only reason you weren't kicked out was that it seems that they think you are a kid, and they clearly think that you did not know how to negotiate." He stated. "But you impressed them enough to give you something."

"Thanks for the confidence, Clint." You said. "Hopefully I won't feel all burned out when this is over."

"Well just find the little things that make things fun." He stated. "And if you do not wish to work on the show... Well, make sure you get a payday and give it all you got until then."

"I just hope that production doesn't realize I'm underage."

"You didn't tell them your age?" Clint asked.

"They didn't ask." You replied.

"Jesus Christ." Clint facepalmed. "You can get in trouble kid."

"I know, but here is the thing, I'm already graduated from high school, and I am Emancipated from my parents." You stated.

Clint still shook his head. "If they find out, you may be fired."

"Well, then they just don't have to find out." You smiled.

Reward: You get 3% residuals on MASH, but you are working for the minimum wage of SAG for the first few seasons.

You must dedicate 2 actions to MASH every 2 months for its production

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Production began almost three days after you were hired, and things were getting quite strange.

For you, at least. The Producers were very adamant to get production started as quickly as possible.

Due to scheduling, the entire season will be filmed in just under two months. How they were going to do that, you have no clue whatsoever.
