@King crimson: Out of curiosity, how much XP would it take to complete the full set of Gemworld interludes? I'm not really sure what getting them all will accomplish, but it would be neat to mess around with Gemworld stuff later on.

To think, that this could have been Lex.
Aaah, God Lex, we shall miss you.

Between you and DreamC we actually could have gotten Lex to Martial 21, he even has reasonable motivation to strengthen himself after the mess Lexpo became. Between security being brought down and having to go into danger, Lex improving his personal strength isn't weird.

EDIT: Prior to the XP spending, Mari had Martial 32 with 400 XP progress. So... 3600 XP is actually too much, as 35 is the cap when it comes to XP spending.

The First Lexpo Aftermath
The winning vote from last time was
[X] [Aftermath] Write-in: Make use of your control of the police to have it seem as though you were investigated while shifting the blame onto others and smear Sinclair Batson's name as much as possible to make him look like a deluded schizophrenic who just happened to get lucky when getting past the guards. Also provide full medical care to the victims while secretly gathering data to determine how they were injured.
This is also the first chapter to be written while I'm not on anti-depressants. As such if you detect a sudden shift in ton or style now you know why. I've got one and a half more events after this (meetings and data/video distribution) there will probably be an interlude and then I'll update the character pages and move on to turn twenty. It's good to be back in action and I hope you all enjoy what's yet to come. Superman is almost here and things will really get rolling.

The First Lexpo Aftermath
Mercy Graves
The whole situation was a mess and a half for Mercy to start cleaning up. The fact that a violent loon had managed to work around the security posted for this event marred what should have otherwise been a triumph for LexCorp PR. The worst part was that Mercy hadn't even managed to figure out exactly what happened so they could prevent a repeat attempt.

Sinclair Batson had clearly done something, since he could consistently put people in comas they didn't recover from and while it seemed his ability was very short ranged it still didn't answer how it worked or how it could be defended against. Director Prince had theorized that the attack was psychic in nature or was an extrapolation of magic. Unfortunately until they had more analysis of what had gone down they couldn't actually figure out a way to defend against it. The fact that at this point in her life Mercy was having to come up with defense mechanisms against psychics was frustrating since it just wasn't something she was equipped to deal with besides the ever dependable "shoot the fucker before he does anything".

The whole situation kind of pissed Mercy off. The little Mini-Me had also apparently had some kind of psychotic break upon seeing Sinclair Batson before deciding to blow out his brains and thanks to the fact that they just didn't have the necessary information to figure out what was going on, LexCorp didn't know if the episode was caused by Sinclair or was something unrelated.

ARGUS was bust dealing with the whole thing and they were real eager to keep anyone and everyone out of the loop if at all possible. At least damage control was working out somewhat normally. People had tried to search for any links between Sinclair and Lex Luthor but found none which made it way easier to just spin him as a lunatic that got lucky. Mercy knew better though.

Sinclair was a lunatic with a power and an ability to focus on a task. No one who'd known the man had seen him act too strangely and in Fawcett city he was known as a reliable real estate mogul who, while engaging in shady practices was still a sharp individual. Furthermore the fact that he had booked a hotel well in advanced without anyone knowing what he was doing and the fact that no one had stopped him as he drove halfway across the country only made it more obvious that he could plan and focus when he needed to. The car he had driven to Metropolis in was a rental and he had pre-purchased a different car to ride back in. Not a foolproof plan by any means but the fact that he had a plan at all past getting at Lex showed that he wasn't just a lunatic. Most genuinely schizophrenic or otherwise mentally addled individuals struggled to plan long term.

There seemed to be no motive linking Sinclair to why he had gone for Lex or what he wanted to do to him. He'd tipped off security that he was there by randomly screaming at the top of his lungs but then immediately went and tried to stay hidden while targeting individuals who he could pick off in isolation. It was too contradictory to make sense as is and dismissing it as just "crazy people being crazy" felt wrong in Mercy's opinion. Even crazy people did what they did for a reason, albeit usually it was a reason slightly at odds with reality.

Still the media had lapped up the fact that Sinclair was a dangerous loon and everyone was using him to push for their own agenda unrelated to LexCorp whether that be better treatment for the mentally ill or gun control or whatever hill some politician or activist wanted to die on. Lois Lane had written an article which seemed to blame the police and security for allowing the situation to escalate while never directly calling out LexCorp directly, although Mercy was sure that pain in her neck was up to something, and Bruce Wayne had used the incident to start campaigning for better treatment of the mentally ill. General Sam Lane was using this as a push for his allies in loosing the restrictions on gun control while his political opponents and Lois vehemently fought against what he was trying to do.

People were no longer talking about Lexpo both for good and for ill as while there was no chance of a massive scandal any momentum the expo might have generated was dead in the water. Sinclair was lucky he had no close family or friends or Lex would have found a way to pay him back tenfold for ruining his plans. Still for all that this was a setback LexCorp was moving right past it and continuing as normal. Soon Mercy would try and press Director Prince for more information on how to prevent a repeat incident and hopefully this type of accident could remain dead and buried like Sinclair Batson.

Ah my bad, I had looked for the sword in general and not specifically the dcau

I think the quality dropped but I'm tiring finally so that would explain it. I think I only have one more in me before i close my little personal marathon

The Sword is actually something made up for Young Justice not the DCAU.

I kind of agree that quality dropped a bit here but I'm still comfortable giving this 400 exp
@King crimson I'll be putting 1200 exp into Mari's martial, and the rest into Roxy's Martial.
On it
@King crimson I would also like to put all my points in Mari's Martial.
Also on it. I'll be formatting yours and DreamCWeaver's spending to be optimal (you pay forward for Mari, then he pays what's left and then donates from the remaining pool of 1200 to Roxy's Martial)
@King crimson: Out of curiosity, how much XP would it take to complete the full set of Gemworld interludes? I'm not really sure what getting them all will accomplish, but it would be neat to mess around with Gemworld stuff later on.
The final number ends up being something like 2,000 minimum since unlike something like The Death of Abin Sur there is no defined endpoint and it can drag out further and further. I currently have about 5 omakes loosely planned based around either past events in Gemworld or semi-current events in that realm. Amethyst hasn't returned there yet but I assume her time there will take at least another five interludes and then it might go on for even longer. As such I can't say an exact number of how much it will cost because how long it goes on for is dependent on background rolls which I don't control. You cannot purchase all of the Gemworld omakes that there will be now since there will be future events that qualify for another omake (Like if you buy the Batman adventures one I can't tell you how many there will be because it can go on longer or shorter and I can't predict how future things will play out).

The final Death of Abin Sur interlude will be coming soon (Tomorrow or Friday depending on how long other stuff takes me). With the completion of that storyline I'll host a brief Q and A on any questions people might have over what went down in it.

In other news I've also updated the Lightyear Entertainment shows page with Episode Six of knights of Camelot is people want to check that out.

P.S. Don't be like me and quadruple post

I really wish there was some kind of gate for super-high Martial, like "you need to have actual powers" or "you need to spend several actions training to be a Badass Normal." It would just feel less... weird to me, for some reason.

Since we are in large part using Martial as a proxy for ability to win a fight in a superhero setting.

Sinclair Batson had clearly done something, since he could consistently put people in comas they didn't recover from and while it seemed his ability was very short ranged it still didn't answer how it worked or how it could be defended against. Poor Mercy. :(

Great-Aunt Mildred:

"Now now, dear, shooting the fucker before he does anything works very very well and is a proud family tradition!"

Hm, you have a point. Dr. Isley's been a bit unstable in her loyalty lately and might leave a bad impression. Maybe we should assign her to some plant actions so she calms down or something? She might very well have already 'asked to be assigned' the way hero units like Dr. Helfern do, except for super-loyalty.

Hmmm. I think we can drop the 'shipping' thing since Polkolistan is a random country that borders on basically... Russia and that's it. I think the 'inform' thing is likely to result in confrontation. I hesitate to offer him kryptonite because the only thing we know it's good for is a power supply and we already know he has something that good because otherwise he wouldn't be able to work with things like Red Rocket Brigade armor.

I'd also like to learn about his background in hopes of making it at least feasible to learn what his deal is- and, possibly, learn that he is presumably a secret powerful metahuman.
