Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

My feeling is that there are spine arts that do things like:
"Get bonus dice when performing physical cultivation" and the like
Maybe some self healing and shapeshifting arts.

Thanks for the info! However, because of more recent posts about slowly trying to integrate them, I'm still cautious about doing it next week. I was thinking of asking Han Jian and Co to let Li Suyin and Su Ling come over to the training to discuss the sharing of the vent and what would be appropriate trade wise next week. That way we are not the only ones trying to do the negotiation, and we can play as mediator between the two groups.

I think that's a bad idea. Given our social abilities (relative to Suyin and Su Ling) and our relationships with the 2 groups (and the malus to Su Ling's social status and relationship with Fan Yu), there'd be an easier and better deal for Suyin and Su Ling if we negotiated it on their behalf rather than inviting Suyin and Su Ling to do it.

So long as we know what range of outcomes would be acceptable to Suyin and Su Ling, it's much better if we do it. It also means it procs off our mental skills rather than social skills from having to play peacemaker between the two sides where Suyin, at least, will feel pressured to accept, even if it's a worse deal, given how most of her training is through us.

Second, as mentioned, we're reaching the breaking point for Han Jian's group so we do need to act quicker. Even if we sort everything out this week, the earliest they'd be coming over is next week.

By next week, assuming your plan wins, everyone will almost certainly pick the Suyin formations and tokens slots, which will also help with calming down Suyin for when Han Jian's group stops by.

Head: Sensory
Lungs: Construction
Heart: Effects around oneself
Arms: Energy projection
Spine: Self modification
Legs: Movement

I think it was?
Lung is both inhaling and exhaling energy, with the later being constructs. The former is probably energy drain/etc. I'm expecting FVM to have AoE energy drain soon.

Those look good, my main issue is that they seem overly specific. OTOH, I guess going overly specific might work.
I generally have trouble coming up with something vague. If I'm looking for an art, either it will give us the four options like before, like searching for a heart art, or a head art, but those types of searches are boring for me. I would much rather look for something specific and see what cool things I see along the way.

I cant get the music out of my head! Whhhhyyyyyyyy
Yes! I have trapped you with my plan's name! So far all of my plans' names have been off of that song.

You are probably right, I was just throwing it out there as an option to consider.

I meant for a head art. I'm not too interested in the blood art idea. Plus it'd be less effective vs traps. General perception is more effective imo rather than a specialized thing.

Okay, I really like Plan Swift as a Coursing River, except for one thing. Training with Han Jian's group. Given our very good relations with Gu Xiulan, and the fact that we've already got a Han Jian specific action in the plan, I don't think it's urgent to train with the group on top of that. As such, I've replaced that action with investigating those damn tokens so they can be finally cleared off our list.

[X] Plan Clearing a Coursing River
-[X] Resources used: Argent Accumulation pill, 3 red spirit stones, Gushing Spring pill
-[X] Help Suyin train and cultivate at the vent
--[X] Argent Soul
---[X] Talk to Li Suyin and Su Ling about giving access to the Argent vent to Han Jian and Co, in exchange for spirit stones and training.
-[X] Try to spend some time with Han Jian, couch it as wanting to ask him about spirit binding
-[X] Discuss with Meizhen what you can help her with
-[X] Try to puzzle out the tokens left from the test
-[X] Look into sending some money to mother
-[X] Cultivate on your own

So you want more FVM? We get 3 more dice on all perception rolls at its current level. It is one of the reasons I believe we will need a head meridian as some point for that art.

@TheLastOne, can you pre-make a plan for next week called, "For Fuck's Sake, Let's Just Get One Bloody Attack Art" or something along those lines.

I will vote for basically anything if it just takes advantage of our Spine bonuses, preferable with Arm arts. We've got to consolidate here.

Heh, we need to now how our socials come out this round, so we know how we're moving forward on sharing the vent, but for the cultivation actions? I can build a quick incomplete outline.

So I sort of want an arm/spine art, because that will get our spine bonus, and probably our buff bonus. I'll add head because a perception focus attack art will either be ranged (which we like), or it will be precision based, which probably plays into our scout/assassin theme. I'll go with Metal aligned because metal probably will be yin, and our best guess is that EPC plays well with yin aligned, but we want to keep learning new elements for the delicious breakthrough bonuses we get for variety. We want the Meridians opened first, because that means the active search gives up one free cultivation roll. Or it did last time, at least.

[] Stones go here (we need to see if they vent counts as a Yellow Stone, we'll find out this turn), Channel Cleansing Pill
[] Help Suyin train and cultivate at the vent
-[] Meridian (Spine)
[] Cultivate on your own
-[] Meridian (Arm)
[] Visit the Archive
-[] Arm-Head-Spine Metal-Aligned

Wasting items. No physical cultivation action. Remove Bear, and Argent Elixir.

[X] Plan Daughter of the Moon.

To everyone planning for next week: Remember to keep a slot or two for finishing off AS.

You know, I've been thinking about advancing to the Inner Sect, and it occurs to me... would that really be such a good thing?

There are certainly advantages to advancing to the inner sect. It grants us higher prestige, gives us access to better resources, and generally unlocks option we might not otherwise have. But it also moves us from being a a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond. Right now, we've started to secure our footing in the outer sect, and I expect things to improve as time goes on - but as soon as we head to the inner sect, much of that security crumbles away. This is a problem, not only because we risk being beaten down and looted, but because it FORCES us to move rapidly forward, even when that might not be the best decision.

Our breakthrough has shown that there are permanent bonuses to be had for solidifying our foundation before moving up in Stage. This suggests that while the Inner Sect will make us stronger more quickly, the Outer Sect will let us set the groundwork for reaching a greater peak.

Yes, that was the idea. Name it so we all know what to vote, and then we'll discuss the details later. We can debate and adjust to majority opinion as long we get one bloody attack option.

@Anyone who wants an attack art. Pre-commit to this action, regardless of what secondary actions it has. We absolutely have to consolidate if we want to get it through and once it does, then we can worry about everything else.

It would be a great thing. We basically will need to move up fast regardless, and having a better position in the army means more security. Likewise, a lot of Arts are available only to inner sect disciples.

It's really, really needed.

You make some good points, but the way I see it, we will always be a fish in a pond and I would like to have a larger pond to swim around in so that we can grow bigger as well. As for looting and fighting us, I have a feeling that the inner sect doesn't engage in that kind of behavior all that often. They have the attention of the best of the sect and have high expectations. I could be wrong of course, but that is why we have made friends with people who are also likely to go be able to make the inner sect, and some of our friends have cousins and the like in the inner sect as well.

@yrsillar Does Forgotten Vale Melody require a woodwind instrument or do stringed instruments work with it also? I ask because bow-strumming can be musical and so forth and presumably Expression covers it even if we lack a specialty.

[X] Plan Backlog, Cultivation, and Helping

Speaking of the army, Meizhen did hint that Ling Qi might end up somewhere else during her years in the army instead of in the south. Inner empire guard or out in the east maybe?
