FATHER QUEST - A Cartoon Network: Villains Victorious CK2-Style Quest Cross Over

Who? The name sounds familiar, but I can't remember from where.
Edit: Wait, he's a King, right? Or related to one, at least.
You know the Secret Saturday? A Show about Cryptids and that type of stuff.

Argost is a tv Host and main villain of the show. Do to the fact Urban Legends and Cryptids are somewhat similar and that the Staff is kinda like the one Zak Saturday had. The fact we got attacked by the Jersey Devil lends credence to this.

His whole deal is Cryptids and Monsters, so it stands to reason he'd have issues with us doing stuff to Monsters throuout the game, or he's got some other scheme brewing, that guy is hard to read.
We didn't do anything to monsters before he sent the Devil after us. Either he has something to gain from aiding the KND, or he wants something we have.

Ah, right. Thanks! Haven't seen much of Secret Saturday outside of a handful of episodes.

Heres what we know about the KND's mysterious backer.

They have a decent amount of Mystical knowledge, being able to teach the KND hypnotism and get multiple monsters working for em. So far we had a Giant Gator, the Jersey Devil, and what may or may not have been an Aka Mantu attack us.

We know that these are not undead being; and that the Aka Mantu may not have even been an Aka Mantu. Furthermore we know that the Aka Mantu has a relic similar to the Claw from Secret Saturdays in apperance and function.

Out of the Occult Oriented Kings on North America
  • Tez has no reason to be here, and the lack of any Mexican Spirits in favor of a Yokai, Sewer Gator, and NA Cryptid would imply the person has a more global reach.
  • The Lack of Undead or Demonic Natures would mean these are not Underworld Spirits, so Mandy, HIM and Boogey are out
  • Furthermore as these are real creature and not Nightmare, Frankelda is out. Not that I am even sure she'd know us anyway.
  • Anti-Pops has the Regular Zone, which while in theory would have access to these things, it is unlikely he would even consider helping someone
  • Similarly Black Hat has no reason to help the KND against someone who wants to promote evil and supervillain
  • Elmore flat out does not care about us. It is unlikely to ever send one of its cast away anyway,
  • Juniper Lee has a Magical Culture Melting Pot in San Fran, and is a good enough person to want to help the KND. But she is both very much locked to Orchid Bay, and has her hands full protecting Magic itself anyway.
  • Katz himself seems to have an actively antagonistic relationship with the KND, do to the fact he hired Fizz and is bottling children.
  • Argost has been quiet, with just a single known action (Getting Canceled); has a relationship with Cryptids and the Staff, and has a mysterious enough motive to be willing to support the KND for an unknown goal. Likely related to us ourselves or the Book. Even if not him, it is likely secret saturdays oriented.
We are dealing with either a Zak (Saturday or Monday is still unknown) or a completely Victorious Argost.

Thank you for the update @Tadpoleon! That fight was epic!

Our boy Toiletnator really held his own!

We need to kick Professor Impossible's ass and rescue Toiletnator next turn.

The fact Toiletnator succeeded on nearly all of his rolls, he shows he's quite a competent defender. Now if only he was..still around.

That was a lot of fun! I had a thought that Aka Mantu might've been Numbah 4, but I think that's far less likely now that we've seen him a little more.

Anyway, Toiletnator did pretty well there, though him being captured does put a little trouble on next turn's hero availability. Between his capture, XXXL's mutation and unlocking the Media Czar action it looks like we'll have to run two Nationals without a hero (barring any helpful free agents showing up or some other occurrence).

We got a attacked by what? When that happen
Screeching and clawing, the donkey-jackal-monkey with wings shattered the window, pouncing at you from the sky. Caught off guard, you slammed into your expensive bookcase, groaning as one, two, three books fell toppled off the shelf and slammed into your head, each one eliciting a painful grunt and groan. Sparks flew from your pipe, as you rubbed your head in anger.
Here, at least it sounds like the Kersey Devil from the description and name of the thing.

...this is just...amazing????? What the heck. Niche sure but it knocks him up a lot powerwise when in effect. It's actually kinda frightening.
Yep. Even his terrible Intrigue gets boosted all the way to a 21, and his Martial gets promoted to a 29. Not amazing or anything...But rather high for such a joke. Pity it's so situational.

Also...I think I know who it is. Look at this bit:
He drew out a long handled ornate staff tipped with a three fingered claw the likes of which Toiletnator had never seen on any animal. The claw glowed a virulent hypnotic green.

Aka Manto Occult Check: Invite Friends (94+/3-)
[96] + 21 +15 (The Claw) + 2 = 134
Critical Success!

Hungry eyes lit up in the dark behind the red cloaked fiend.

An emaciated scaly maw snapped out at Toiletnator, nearly taking off his hand. He yelped and dropped the cloak. More eyes and teeth flashed out at him. Slithering creatures fought to wriggle over one another for the chance to gnash at his body. The largest fought its way to the head of the pack, and as it crawled into the sunlight streaming in through the mouth of the pipe, Toiletnator recognised its shape.

"A sewer gator?! Buh-buh-but that's just a myth!"

The claw glowed again. The beast retreated. Its eyes became pinpricks of reflected light in the darkness. The face of Aka Manto's own leering mask joined it.

"More like an urban legend."
Glowing three-pronged claw on a staff, controls urban legends...I know this one. That's Zak's primary weapon from the Secret Saturdays, which he uses to focus and control his natural cryptid-influencing powers. Given the emphasis...Yeah, this seems like a Zak. Possibly the original, but, given the demeanor, more likely Monday, his evil AU counterpart. Possibly working with Argost, possibly on his own.

Honestly, uou wanna know the most isnane part?

It isn't a bonus like what Skips or XXXL have

It modifies his base stats, meaning it's effected by his loyalty...

Meaning if its toilet related on a national action, he has
36 Martial
28 Diplo
31 Stewardship
25 Intrigue
25 Learning
25 Occult

Now, I dont think we will ever have toilet related nationals, but important to keep in mind.

Maybe if we assign him to fixing The Swim?

We had a pretty long discussion in the discord about who/what it could be and after looking at all the facts I'm nearly certain it's Zak Monday. I can try to dig back up all the evidence in requested but I feel the biggest and easiest selling point is the energy. Saturday's is orange, Mondays is Green.

If people never read the book then it's better stolen to teach actions/inaction have consequences.
We've had higher priorities in Occult thus far, sadly. Next turn, though, our schedule should be open, and, with the KND attacking again, right on time. Plus, after whatever goes down with Spankulot, maybe it'll prompt some revelations.

wrestling gators and visiting prisons. What a..what an story of tonal whiplash that's gonna be.
