That really, really depends on how good their internal network security is, and they are entirely lacking in technobabble. It's all 'rapid adaptation to new threats', which sounds nice, but it doesn't help when your opponent can literally pull a negative space wedgie on reality. Well, negative energy wedgie, but you know what I mean.

I'd give the Federation a better chance in combat on that basis alone.
Point but the counter to that.

Their is more straight up firepower there then the Federation had at the height of the Dominion war.
Which might be enough firepower to do something to her :V

The weakest sicfi faction that could beat Anna in a fight (were killing her is their win condition) would be... The Borg?
And I am taking the higher end Borg things not their poorer showings in account.

It depends on how intelligently they fight. Even a shit-tier faction can, with good enough intelligence and few enough moral scruples, drive Anna into insanity. She can't guard the whole planet, after all.

Perhaps the weakest scifi faction... Season 1 Primeval. They can technically use no technology: merely walking through the time portal (a natural phenomenon) "defeats" Anna by derailing her conception via the butterfly effect.

Okay, scratch time travel.

We almost accidentalied Anna by picking a bad sim. Any faction with a good enough sim can do the same (assuming she goes in). Sword Art Online comes to mind, but there are probably others.

More in the spirit of the original question, we're looking for exotic effects: time stoppage, spatial tunnels that happen to lead a zillion light years away or to other inaccessible places. Anyone who can form a black hole right on top of her gets her (even if the black hole doesn't) through time dialation.

Worm might or might not count, depending on how you classify the tech. I'll need more time to think of others.

...

Honorable mention: Anna is immune to the Death Note; yet another reason not to have a cardiovascular system :V That's my secret: I always have a heart attack.

Do the residents of the Umbral Plains (as described in new DOOM lore) have a snowball's chance in Hell against Anna? Considering the only stuff that really affects them is blessed/cursed/coated-in-demon-blood weaponry, some of which is also exotic in nature.

I mean, I feel like Wave Force is comparable to the BFG, which Doomguy notably didn't mess with and it still wrecked demons, but some baddies just tank those shots so...

This works right up to the point where Anna decides to rip and tear with her bare hands and/or goes full von neumann on them. If she requires something that, like the bodies of her dead enemies, is coated in hell energy(argent?) then she can have Durga take in the remains of what she kills to understand the underlying principles of the exotic effects to replicate it. Remember, she got to the point she was at before Sehkmet almost entirely from killing then consuming the Antagonists.
Or she could beat the demons to death with each other.

Also, not much will survive the very fabric of reality around you tearing itself apart due to wave force. So the BFG and wave force are probably similar in that they tear the constituent parts of what they hit apart, the BFG using the argent energy and wave force using negative energy.

Wow. I can't believe this Quest stays on the front page for half a year without an update. What are you guys doing all this time ?

Mainly? Speculating. There's a lot of potential speculation to do.
There's also the desire to avoid the thread going the way of geometry. So speculating helps us avoid that.

Edit: HOLY SHIT EVA'S A SETTING!

Anna v Angels is something I actually dread to think about.

Rereading this monstrosity of 1/5 a million word story for the 20th time in one sitting at 4 am instead of sleeping. Or speculating about how Anna shall continue to baffle the rest of the cast with her uniqueness. Also, avoiding the topic of geometry.

I feel like Anna meeting Ramiel would end in the two discussing advanced mathematics.

By throwing high energy particle beams at each other.

As best friends forever do.

One problem with that idea, Anna can use Interdiction! And Space Corrosion! :Ü™

Exotics, and specifically esoteric exotics like the more out there Higgs effects and what you've described here don't work well against Valks once they get past a certain compatibility with a Valk core. That level usually corresponds with Enlisted level Valks, but not always. You can be very compatible without being great at combat.

The Impeller's Demipotence ability would shut down such an effect if it entered their Impeller because it doesn't 'shouldn't work'. On the other hand though, if you raised a Valk their whole life telling them that they can't hurt Umbral Residents without demon blood, and the Valk wholeheartedly believed so, the Valk wouldn't be able do anything against an Umbral resident, even if they did grab such a dude with their Impeller.

Some thoughts and questions-

  • If Anna is ordered to deploy to help stop a major antagonist push -
  • Would she have operational command of the squadren or the 300? Or defer to the higher officer ranks/STRATNET?
  • What would her full combat loadout look like? Like if the situation warrants it, would the UN give some of her Heavy Particle weapons back?
  • Also - The fact the UN strategic command basicly wants Anna at Africa at all times makes me think they think the next major antagonist push will be coming from that region.
  • One more thought that has had me thinking - If the antagonists try to send a execution squad into another unprepared Arcology like they did at Darwin, would Anna be able to stop them?

I think Anna wouldn't have command by default because she wouldn't want it, she would get her HPP back if there was time for it and it hasn't been taken apart for study, and she would die to any "execution squad". She barely defeated a class C T0 specialised against giant slow targets or large groups. Three of them with better loadouts against Valkyries would slaughter her.

In general, I would expect her to be under the command of the leaders of Last Word and Pinnacle, Vivas and Margaret Laurent, depending on her duties at the time:
Top 11 Valks after much poking Avalanche

1. Anna Sanchez: Coroner, Trump, Emergency Fast Response Squadron Pinnacle, Type Zero Suppression Squadron Last Word. (30,000+)
2. Jatayu Sen: The Valkyrie, Zero Breaker, Wing Commander, Alaska, Deus Ex Squadron (30,000+)
3. Margaret Laurent: Black Queen, Wing Commander, Alaska, Pinnacle Squadron (30,000+)
4. Anastasia Korikova: White Tower, Wing Commander, Alaska, Ragnarok Squadron (30,000+)
5. Zheng LingYu: Lao Shi, Wing Commander, Alaska, Theophagy Squadron. (30,000+)
6. Vishka Nonahali: Caesar (29,000 rating)
7. Chang Wei: Eclipse (28,000 rating)
8. Dalisay Vivas: Blue March. Group Captain, Last Word Squadron, Learning Wave Force, Exotic Principle Weapon YaoGuai Hong Shao from Type Zero Guan Yu (27,000 rating)
9. Cinta Renata: Summer Solstice (26,000 rating)
10. Lee Sang-hyeok: Majeh, Rank 10 (25,000 rating)
11. Samphati Faran: Sheba (24,000 rating)

So 5 people broke the scale rather than just Anna and we have confirmation that the Genius 20 (+4!) is spread around rather than concentrated in Pinnacle.
Come on UN, get better scaling!
But it could be a bit messy since we've recently learned that she (apparently accidentally) has significant authority as the #1 rated Valkyrie, with the details still somewhat up in the air.
Like if the situation warrants it, would the UN give some of her Heavy Particle weapons back?
There is only one HPP that she doesn't have right now, which the UN is currently trying to replicate; the others were destroyed by Sekhmet. I could imagine her getting it back in a major emergency, but she probably would have to have a good reason to believe that her current loadout is insufficient.
Also - The fact the UN strategic command basicly wants Anna at Africa at all times makes me think they think the next major antagonist push will be coming from that region.
I don't know about the next big push, but I am definitely under the impression that the heaviest fighting right now is in Africa, and Stratnet might want her for an operation to try to prevent the two minor breaches there from merging into a major breach.
