Because Kouji's spot check got penalties on them.
Irrelevant. Even if everyone in the story was aware of it that wouldn't change the fact that it hasn't been brought up in the story which is where shadowdrakons confusion is coming from.
Sorry haven't reread the thread in awhile and things fade with nothing new to anchor them.
No need to apologise.
You're not the only person with that misconception, its a long thread and it's ability to not die is unparalleled in this forum, and its not like I haven't made mistakes of my own.
It's happening for some plot reason or another and the only reason the thread knows about it is cause I was still in that stage where I blabbed a lot. It's something that may become relevant down the line after a few months of in quest time.

"Which is like 10 years IRL time huehuehue" - Most of this thread in response to this message, probably.
Please you're still in the phase that you over react and tip your hand to the most vaugely related conspiracy, just now you check the thread so rarely that we've moved the topic on by the time you've read it.:cry::cry:

Still easier to die compared to triangles.

The Discord help.
World of Warships helps more.

So is there any way to stop Anna from shrinking, and maybe regain her lost height?

Yes. Well, pProbably. To quote myself from a few pages back, there is a bit of a possibility:
Valkyrie cores respond to desires of improvement. In some cases the results are objective, but in others they are more subjective. I am going to pose a theory that the height and other appearance things are not some combat practicality deal, but rather a product of Anna's mind wanting to be like people she considered strong or adult. Physically being larger also being better is the sort of analogy that a young mind might make. Now, Anna may be shrinking out of desire to not stand out so much. She does not really seem to be interested in attention, or think that she is worth the attention that she gets, so wanting to look less unusual is possibly the reason for the ongoing change.

If you want Anna to stop shrinking, convince her that she wants to stay the way she is presently. The weight of the death of her hometown hangs heavy on her shoulders. Her reaction to the instructors on the first day before classes had started was pretty telling, and how she handled the reactions of her classmates when she was discovered to be an ace after crashing a simulator shows how she feels about attention.

If I am right, making Anna stop shrinking is going to be pretty central to her character arc.

Why does Anna need to stop getting smaller?

Does she become less cute if she's a bit shorter? I'm certain it won't adversely effect her combat effectiveness.

You say that like I don't want Anna to become the flights little sister.

Thought - If Durga wants Anna to 'do normal things' then would trying to do something like playing chess, running, etc enough times eventually let Durga tone down the assistance?

Durga: ooh so people aren't suppose to have a supercomputer help them win at chess. *pats Anna on the head* I'll be over here
Anna: wait D:
Durga: ...I'm still going to whisper the rules to you of course.

Consider it a sort of intermediate step on the path of methaphors for 'Anna getting better/normal/over her PTSD'. Then again I could also see Anna as the type to do morning jogs just to enjoy all the scenery eventually. I mean assuming she decides its worth leaving her fortress of fluffy pillows.

Being large gives an intimidation and presence factor which can be important for social situations. It also grants an advantage in hand to hand combat, or other instances where leverage is important. Admittedly, in the world Anna operates in now, neither physical nor social leverage are terribly important, but it does technically negatively impact her combat effectiveness in the situations of "no impeller and in hand to hand combat with someone," or "need to command people who have no idea who she or any Valkyrie is."

Anna can't run to start with. >_>

nah she can run.. she just can't run *well* I mean unless she totally forgot basic motor control wit..

ok maybe she can't run. Clearly this just helps with the narrative metaphor since its gives something 'normal' for the viewers to see Anna getting better at to be an analog to the less visually interesting improvements in her own inner well being.

But I mean, she tried.

Stood around. Couldn't grok. Gave up.

That boat has sailed.

Go give Anna hugs.

This is a hell of a reach back, but when people were talking about Valkyrie Core Endless mode, and it was suggested that a fully specked Valkyrie frame with maxed skill tree look like Durga, but then the issue of a hacker pulling the assets out early on, there is an easy solution: the later stage Core assets are not stored in game, but on the cloud server that retains high scores. That way they get patched into the game as the server recognises your high score.

Edit: Bonus, the need to implement a high score checker should help keep them relatively honest by flagging cheaters. And no one is likely to point out the oddity of the checker if such a system exists, with the asset patching code buried deep deep within them.

Yeah but then it would require Always-Online DRM to even function, which is a major PR nightmare.

Why? I'm not 100% sure why you'd need always online drm, could you please explain?
You would need a connection to the server to level up appropriately without interrupting play since the assets are not on the local drive. Hence you would need a steady, continuous connection to the server to verify that your access request is legitimate and not some kind of attack.

Hrmm, true. Simplest solution I can offer - duplicate assets - one (fake) for offline, and one (true) that gets patched in. That way the game functions until you connect. A picture of your character model on a "mission history" screen could be updated retroactively for those not always connected, to see models you might have skipped past between being online.

For clarification, patched in, as in downloaded to a local drive. Therefore you only need to connect intermittently to update, perhaps under the unassuming guise of regular patches/updates.

How 'bout we just let people indulge their Fashion Souls with how they build their Frames? You could easily follow the Durga aesthetic, but there would be other non-canon frame styles available to muddy the waters.

Edit: Something like the different frames in the Soulslike game The Surge.
