First things first - let's get the gushing out of the way!
With a cough, you turn the majority of your attention back to the competition, just in time for you to declare the end of the first round and for Meyer to announce the break in the rounds. Mountains, glaciers and forests melt away back into the default flat plains, and the next assessment for the squadron is given out. This time, there are no individual assessments in the form of written analysis, rather, assessments by entire flights. These reports are purely reflections after the match, rather than one prediction and one review. You send in a response of your own, only to find that Shuri had already covered all salient points.

Huffing in irritation, you retract your original report and work on expanding on points with your own analysis only to find Shuri doing the same. A brief edit war occurs as the two of you revise points to be more and more detailed, adding alternative points of view and arguments for and against those points.

Sandra however cuts you and Shuri off as she locks editing permissions with the note that the reply is meant to be only two thousand words with a five percent margin of error. It was not supposed to be two hundred thousand words and rapidly increasing.

Down below, Setsuna boggles at her datapad before tossing it back into storage with an exasperated huff. Sandra quickly accosts the other girl before she can fall into a sulk and the two begin to edit the report down to something manageable. Of course, neither Meyer nor Leonhart would have any issues reading and digesting the report in seconds, but it's a bad habit to form since it would confound normal humans and… probably most Valkyries cadets wouldn't have an easy time either.

You look on sheepishly as Setsuna sits hunched, her hands bunched in her twintails as she blankly watches her datapad auto-scroll through the pages upon pages of text and diagrams you and Shuri had created. You'd written around one hundred and thirty thousand words and Shuri ninety thousand in the fifteen or so seconds you two had had. You're not at all sure when the two of you would have stopped if all five minutes had been allowed.

Despite their best efforts, Sandra and Setsuna are only able to cut the word count to ninety thousand before the deadline arrives. Shuri and you both wrote in a laconic style that's basically impossible to compress, so Sandra had resorted to outright deleting the speculative scenarios and much of the for and against arguments you and Shuri had written.

Sending off a contrite apology to the rest of your Flight, you focus back onto the match as the second round begins.
THIS is in equal measure ridiculous, hilarious and awesome, showcasing the mind-boggling productivity of Ace Valkyries in terms of information handling - not in big numbers, like that some-TB-huge equations, but in what a small timeframe of a notably mundane activity can they take advantage of.

Ace Valkyries OP, please nerf Type Zeros!

Koujirou again displays that strange sudden burst of skill that sometimes comes over him and instantly rights himself from his wild tumble. He almost delicately shifts to the side and stabs his sword into the massive wave of plasma as it roars harmlessly by. With his thrusters bright with stolen energy, he essentially rides down Emily's attack in an absurdly showy spiral, cutting the attack into a helix behind him.

To your side, Meyer slaps both hands over her face and groans loudly. Leonhart broadcasts a second of completely blank audio. You tilt your head in considerable confusion as you try to justify what that stunt gained Koujirou.

Emily halts her plasma attack and ignites her melee halberd, swinging upwards to meet Koujirou. However, his sword is still in its unusual absorb energy mode and the blade simply cuts through Emily's own melee halberd, siphoning away its plasma as it does so. Gracefully, Koujirou swings his sword, depositing the collected plasma in front of Emily. For a brief moment, it remains stable in the air, a trail of plasma following along the path of Koujirou's cut.

Koujirou sheaths his sword and turns around.

The trail of plasma explodes.

>>Victor: Rokusabe Koujirou
THIS is also ridiculous, hilarious and awesome. Also showy as all hell, as I can just see it happening - a huge column of fiery light, straddled by a spiraling Valkyrie, the landing, the slash, and the "Cool Guys Don't Look At Explosions" pose!

The timeskip will be for a duration of 7 weeks for a total of 50 actionable days, ending at the start of week 14, the start of the second semester. The next section of decompressed story arc will be the "The Enemy of All Mankind" arc. Each day in a timeskip allocates 10 points to spend. 50 days allows for 500 points to allocate to skills and actions.

Skills:
[] Timeskip Activities.
-[] Train skills
--[] Write in.

Activities
-[] Volunteer again for Sandra's UNHCR reconstruction activities.
Benefits: General uptick in UN economic power. Long term benefits to human population.
Cost: 21 days - 210 points
-[] Work with the crafting elective class for revised HPP prototype.
Benefits: Completion returns fifth HPP. Uptick in UN Valkyries combat power. Crafting Class will continue working on HPP prototypes regardless of your participation.
Cost: 110 days - 1100 points. (Cannot be completed in timeskip, will be added to long term projects if selected.)
-[] Attend Instructor training sessions.
Benefits: Unlocks and trains certain group skills. May train Wave Force.
Cost: 7 days - 70 points.
-[] Attend general Flight training sessions.
Benefits: Unlocks and trains certain group skills. May train Target Rich Environment. May train Wave Force.
Cost: 7 days - 70 points.
Let's see. I think we should volunteer, and we should work for Instructor and general Flight training sessions both.
Volunteering is more of a feel-good activity here for me.
Attending both training sessions results in us actually having the skills to participate as team players, and I find it to be a vitally important skill to have.
How do you spend your time during the holidays?
14 days total.
[] Holiday Activity
-[] Flight world tour: Visit the homelands of everyone as a flight. An around the world tour of India, Siberia, South Africa, Japan and Canada- maybe not Canada. No? Not India either?
-12 days.
-[] Spend time with:
--[] Koujirou: I guess it all came down to me not being able to stop those missiles in the earlier rounds, clearly I need help with long range things. Gimme a hand?
-2 days.
--[] Yukari and Setsuna: Say Anna, what do you do in your time off? What do you say about dressing up a little, how about your room? Do you have enough furniture?
-2 days.
--[] Sandra: Greetings Anna, while we have become closer as a Flight in the past month, but I don't feel as if we've gotten to truly know each other as people, or maybe even this country. What do you say to a short trip around Australia?
-2 days.
-[] Write in activities? (Subject to veto if time allocated doesn't match activity specified)
I would like to spend time with Yukari, Setsuna, and Sandra.

Flight tour is nice... But if it doesn't pan out, I propose a write-in of Visit Japan - the homeland of Koujirou, Yukari and Setsuna (4 days). I mean, the world tour is 12 days, with Siberia, S.Africa and Japan being the only ones left after India and Canada are scratched out. So it's apparently 4 days per area.
Each time skip week allows for 1 visit to an elective class. Select five or continue down the list.
[] Continue down the list for next 5 elective classes
[] Write in specific elective classes to visit.
IIRC we've done all the elective classes already. As such, it is more of a ranked vote on which ones we liked.

So. Architecture. Astronomy. There are the ones I remember that I want to see more of.

[] Activity Sub-Plan Team Player (Total Cost - 35 Days, 350 Points, training opportunities exist)

If we add SWB's write-in about Shuri (if Avalanche approves ofc) and dump every other point into Blue Wave, it's pretty much what I want to vote for.

Same here. Let Anna socialize with her friends.

@Avalanche
Just to be clear, do the 14 holiday days count to the 50 days, or are they separate?
They are separate. You have 500 points from the normal timeskip, then there is a 2 week break between semester 1 and 2 for 14 days. However, that 14 days cannot be used for activities overlapping with the 50 days of the normal class time.
@Avalanche - If we take the HPP Action can we still take other actions? Obviously the other actions would reduce how many points we spent on the HPP Action but seeing as it already requires more then the entire timeskip that doesn't seem like much a problem.

I ask because I'd really like to work on the HPP with the crafting club but taking just one action for the entire timeskip seems both boring and a waste.
No, this is a longer term project, you can allocate time to it like with skills.

-[] Ask Sandra for help in spending some time with Shuri. Out of everyone in the flight, she and you are most distant. And if you're going to be relying on her in battle, well, you'll need to know her better. (2 days)
-[] Approach one or two of the clubs you've toured about organizing a small excursion. Something like a dive trip for swimming/fishing, as an example. Pick something you found relaxing and if you end up doing any of the planning be mindful that this is supposed to be leisure time. Actually, get some of them to help you, you aren't good at understanding other people's preferences. (5 days)
--[] Follow up with one or two of the people you've gotten to know. If their ideas of relaxation were similar to yours, well, what else do they do for fun? (1 day)

...
-[] Go explore the civilian portions of the arcology. Maybe there's interesting food, sights, or people. (2 days)
-[] Try one of the historical simulator scenarios solo. What difference would a lone valkyrie of your caliber have made? Ask Sandra for a recommendation, she knows the context to the history involved better than you do. (1 day).
Gday SWB, these allocated times look fine.

For the 5 day expenditure, are you suggesting any elective classes or are you leaving it up to Anna?

Things that are good in life:
  • Being back
Update good, onto the things!

Mayer called her a "cadet" inside quotes, yet she is still punished as a one.
It was mentioned that she's a former cadet of the Pakistani Valkyrie Corps where she performed the same role as she does here. Likely only a few years older than Shuri. And considering that Shuri is only 16 it's very likely that Javeria was simply old enough to be shoved into the academy the moment the Pakistani Valkyrie Corps was disbanded and it's members folded in under the UN.

She was probably assigned the job under her former commanders and decided to keep it up when joining the UN, she also likely has personality problems to boot and is probably a bit of a bitch anyways. After all, they'd need to be able that she has the ability to actually needling people into doing what they want them to, hence someone who's notably manipulative of those around them.

Thing is she also decided to make Anna her target, partly because she does the job she's good at, but also because she was curious, Meyer notes that they don't really have to the will to actually shut her down, partly because she actually produces results and the other reasons she brought up. Obviously this means that she'd be really curious about the one that the staff actively tried to dissuade her away from.

We obviously know their reason, Anna is incredibly mentally broken and they're trying to let her recover as a person, but also because she's #1 and technically doesn't need any pushing to get better, Anna will get better on her own because that's what she does.

Umm...

Anyways, Anna's cute, we should let her be happy for once. I don't really know what the current plan for the vote is but so long as she spends time with everyone I'm fine with whatever.

Hrm.

So, something like this? 3 more holidays left, could, Iunno, spend some more hanging out in the arcology?

Arbitrary, but much better, and easily explained by Anna being given orders to take the time off. I'm much happier with that.

Suppose if we take the 3 2-day options, we'll have to make stuff for the remaining 8 days.

Also, shouldn't this 7 then?
Each time skip week allows for 1 visit to an elective class. Select five or continue down the list.

Since we're spending 7 weeks in the timeskip. Though I still don't see why we can't continue the "visit 5 clubs per day" setup, or even just a club a day.

Notes: Looking at the votes, maybe I made it a bit too obvious which choice lead to what. In case anyone was wondering, exploring the Perth Arcology exploration deck would have lead to a very introspective post, with you thinking about your past and all that and then followed onto the next day.
Thinking back to this vote near the beginning of the quest, would anyone be opposed to spending some time on introspection? Don't know if we'd need to spend a full day on it or not, but giving Anna some time to herself to just relax and think on things can't hurt.
@Avalanche Would we be able to spend a day on introspection during the holiday, or would it not do much?

While you can vote for such a day, I cannot disclose any possible results, if any, of such an vote before the fact. Sorry.

I am not sure sitting in the room and stewing in our memories is the best idea ever tbh. Could work, could screw with us.

When was the last time we read fiction literature? Maybe make a couple of days of reading books? Can we, like, revisit Literature Club or just trawl the Internet for advice and go on a reading spree? With her reading speed she should just about catch up on a decade of non-reading in a couple of days.

This entire tournament arc I've been waiting for something horrendous and dramatic to happen, a mid-season cliffhanger, Antagonist invasion, something.

Pffffewww.

Tournament Arcs that are NOT interrupted by external forces are so rare these days that one of the praises My Hero Academia 2nd season got is that its own TourArc proceeded normally.

EDIT: Is there is a possibility of random events and/or mini-turns within the timeskip?

"Do we have to come in on Friday and watch Coke Zero and Setsuna have it out for finals?" "Everyone knows Syifa's better than either Koujirou or Setsuna, even though those two are pretty damn talented." "Yeah, what's even the point of watching the runner ups?" "Watching runner ups, huh? Tell me, who's the most talented vanguard in our squadron- no, our entire first year wing." "Huh? The Dawn Herald, the Golden Ace of course." "So…" "Uh, so?" "Repeat your question to me, but slowly." "Oh. Right, yeah I can see why she's cbf." "I just noticed, but why's no one here watching today?" "Yah, there was tons more people on Monday." "Why would they come, they know that neither of our Aces are fighting for it." "Yeah, watching Anna and Shuri have a contest over the crown would have been awesome." "I don't get the forfeit, but those Japanese kung fu moves are so cool. I wonder if we can learn that kinda martial arts." "Japanese kung fu?" "Oh chill Meifeng." "You can fly ten times faster than sound, take a tank shot straight in the face and you want to learn how to whack someone with your arms or a stick?" "It worked pretty well on both Claire and Emily didn't it?" "C'mon, can you say you can match against either Syifa or Setsuna if they got close to you?" "Well, them be good points I guess." "So Emily, what did you think of Koujirou? Claire said he was really cool." "Curb your thirst, we meet him in class everyday. Also, I wouldn't. He's denser than an Ace's Impeller." "Oooooh…" "Poor Setsuna."
No wonder fauxchan loves this show, the audience Is So Meta Even This Acronym.

And speaking of fauxchan - cheerfully oblivious motormouth Anna.
Man, once they grok the hints of just how much Valks can unload on unconscuious Agent-Reflex they get a flip.

Meanwhile, babbling oddbal, rather than Reixpy.

Turns out it was a lot bigger than I was picturing, I was thinking more like 900 people than 6,000.

Doesn't feel like it. Just being depressed and bitter about how much some of her classmates outmatch her. She basically said "ooh, I can win the tournament if all the top people don't enter, yeah that's meaningful."

Makes me wonder what things would have looked like if Anna had let herself be badgered into entering, and just completely and obviously unenthusiastically jobbed things while still steamrolling everyone, Syifa included. Also the reaction to it, people feeling insulted that she's visibly not even putting in effort and demanding an explanation. Possibly fodder for an omake if anyone wants to write that.

So, something like this? 3 more holidays left, could, Iunno, spend some more hanging out in the arcology?

People have proposed visiting just Japan instead of making the complete world tour.

On what skills to level, I kinda want to bring Target Rich Environment up, seeing as it's a low-hanging but valuable fruit, but I can understand that in the grand scheme of things it's not actually all that important compared to Wave Force.

She instantly forfeits first and second match.

Then the AG factory level where she causes everyone to shit bricks when she destroys the set and every AG in it without letting her Opponents Impeller drop a single percent. Before she forfeits and walks off for pillowfort.

Interesting idea, but I'm worried with Anna being Anna, while reading fiction, she would just constantly go: "That is not how that works." or "That makes no sense."

Peculiarly, while the larger residential area has been repaired ,

Her style against other Valkyries is as close to conventional anti-High Level AG combat, to the extent that such solo styles exist

As a rough feeling, my thoughts would be on spending time with Yukari (the poor dear had no time in this update!), volunteering with reconstruction, spending time with the other members of the flight and instructors, and working on the HPP stuff. Sure, the other teams might be building it as well, but we can make it faster and benefit all of humanity. Without, y'know, trying to shoot everyone ourselves.

The HPP and instructor stuff gives Anna the ability to set up the other Valks with the power of being facewreckingly awesome, so that they don't have to die (like all her loved ones did).

The Yukari time gives her time with her first friend and peer.

And the reconstruction, of course, helps humanity in a non murder-centric way that Anna can feel good about.

But we gotta have some Yukari time in there.

Interesting idea, but I'm worried with Anna being Anna, while reading fiction, she would just constantly go: "That is not how that works." or "That makes no sense."

She does not strike me as "Well akshually" type, so I doubt it.
Plus we could, like, start with classics and not things which she likely does know better than authors like hard sci-fi.
Ebooks?

Are there even enough quality literature out there for Anna to spend days on it.

... Or are we expecting constant BSODs and resets due to lewd filth? ("Anna you don't have to" "... It's for research.")
Thing about fast consumption of information is that people are liable to produce it faster too.

An Ace with a writing streak can outproduce a lifetime of baseline human fiction author within a day I guess. That's an outlier, but, I imagine, we won't run out of literature to consume unless we deliberately try to consume as fast as we can, and even that's doubtful.

I mean, I am not terribly sold on the idea, but humans read literature and watch shows and, well, "Do normal human things". Worth trying I guess?

I wasn't thinking her being an "Actua Lee", but more like being honestly confused why these books would get so many things wrong or being nonsensical. Like, if she started reading Dracula, she'd just keep thinking how something like vampires would realistically work.

Hmm, maybe she'd like cute fairy tales...
