[X] We started this without really expecting to derive a favorite food. We didn't even really have a conception of "favorite" food, we weren't aware that so many dishes existed. But now, we can do this the right way: with absolute empirical precision. Go back through the list, choosing the order by random number generation, and catalogue neural responses to each item.

[X] Yes. You will watch all the matches involving your squadron. As the matches take place simultaneously, you will only be watching the matches from your own squadron.
-- [X] Preferably paired with another commentator. Perhaps an instructor like Meyer or Leonhart.

The audience would already know that we're working on a classified project with the instructors. If you're looking for teasers along those lines, that's enough really.
Their is a difference between someone working on a classified project, and someone being the most dangerous human on the bloody planet. I mean at this point the audience will be expecting Anna to be worfed soon... lets not change their minds on that until after we have a suitable moment of well...

Speck, you're missing the point of they don't know who the text would be talking about.

They would recognize Sandra's voice. So obviously, she's talking to another person in the Flight (even if that logic is faulty, the viewers will see it that way).

And besides, Saskatoon is near Alaska, and remember the first update? The viewers know that we have something to do with Alaska.

Oh, man, a zero Worf situation?
You're treading on new ground here Speck.
Oh, wait, no, we have the broken ace for that.
Hmm, thinking about it, Anna would kind of trivialise most combat situations she would be put in, wouldn't she?
Unless she's reminded of her failures, which the Type 0's might just be cunning enough to do...

It is here that you find the first mentions of Sandra, where a photo of Shuri's Valkyrie frame, Konark, shorter, darker coloured, heavier plated and with less weaponry, but still recognisable from the waist mounted supplementary thrusters, leads a young child towards their father. For a moment, you don't recognise Sandra, her most outstanding feature in your eyes, her hair, was cut boyishly short and it's referencing the photo's attached notes that you confirm it was a photo of 'the newly minted Golden Ace, Shuri Kravala of the Pakistani Air Force, reuniting United Nations Secretary of Humanitarian Affairs Alfred Cambridge with his daughter Aleksandra Cambridge in the aftermath of the repelling of the Antagonist attack on Mombasa Arcology.'

Aha, found it. There is a Secretary of Humanitarian Affairs, so Undersecretary of Humanitarian Affairs is therefore the subordinate position. Unknown if there are more than one Undersecretaries.

My primary motivation is the audience attention. This is an important milestone, and we need to be significantly involved in how it unfolds somehow.

Additionally, I like @Sightsear's idea about how being in the booth is different than being in the bleachers. As a commentator, Anna would likely be given (formal) high level access to the simulator, and would be able to generate a crystal clear picture of how the fight is going. While the Vanguards are talented, they are still trainees, and it is a near certainty that none of them have a strong enough attack to cause a serious accidental injury. Anna being able to recognize that in real time would help with avoiding her triggers.

Uh, wait she had problems during that training exercise mostly in the aftermath when someone got hurt because SHONEN PROTAGONIST.

But so far, she's had quite a few problems making sure she keeps in mind fake sims / training exercises.

Like, have you re-read the quest? There's a few instances of that, and two weeks is not enough to make it go away.

Basically this is HIGH RISK / LOW REWARD.

So why do it?
Because we enjoy Anna being awkward in front of people.

I think there is a big divide in what people interpret as the point of this quest. The "No-Commentary" crowd see it as having Anna be a functional human being as soon as possible and build from there. The "Yes-Commentary" crowd see the goal as hitting 20 Audience Popularity and getting our own spinoff series.

My personal opinion is that if we get our own spinoff, we would be guarantied enough character development time to become a functional member of society. And in a gradual enough manner that the filthy Otaku crowd won't cry fowl and burn their commemorative merchandise over how their "Dakka Waifu" has been ruined. Which is ultimately the most important thing as far as Corporate is concerned.

If it's our GOAL for ANNA Sharing time...

Mine is for Anna to not have horrible trauma / PTSD anymore, save the world, and MASTER EVERYTHING. But mostly THE WAVE FORCE.
And then become a surfer.
So she can ride the waves.

...

...

Hey, uh will there be like a Sea Wave version?
...

Wait uh, if we're messing around with Space... hmm, will we get a PROTAGONIST + ANNA TIME TRAVEL SEQUENCE due to Wave Force - Interrupt Shenanigans? And like Anna meets Younger Anna, team up to save the day for real in the past?
And then the twist is, it was an alternate timeline, and they have to return to their own... for the proper FEELZ twist.

My experience with this quest.

That's the same as mine!
*does not Ship Anna with either of them*
Mneh.
Same here.
Most importantly for my decision making though, this sounds like fun. That's basically the foundation of my decision making process here, and that isn't going to change.
No offense, but every time I've seen the reason for vote simply being "because it's fun/cool/awesome", it has ended badly.
I may be mistaken, but I get the impression that very few people bothered to read the 20+ pages of discussion before popping in here with their very loud, very already-discussed opinions. And it only takes one person to do this to trigger everyone on both sides of the argument posting their rebuttals again.
From what I've seen that's, unfortunately, normal on every thread.
But in all seriousness, Anna Best Girl.
Anna Best Girl.

On the other hand, "fun" is literally the only reason to participate in a quest in the first place, so...
OTHO, ending badly as a result usually leads to salt and lots of anger / annoyance among the quest base.

Which kinda kills the "fun".

Like, even if we don't go Avalanche will still write something interesting to read.

Even if it takes another... 3 months.

So hey, I guess that's one way to not get people too worked up? I mean how many people remember exactly what they voted for 3 months later?

Idle thought while chewing through all of the commentary: Episode would remain focused on Perth, but would have a couple of quick cutaways to Seosan getting rebuilt... without actually showing Anna, just the effects she's having on the camp in it's transition to an actual town. End it with Sandra's own arrival, with maybe a bit of commentary from the other valks about how absurdly ahead of schedule they are.

Then back to Perth for a bit, credits roll, but instead of the next episode preview, there's just a black screen, playing out the tail end of Anna and Sandra's conversation in text-only format.

"By the United Nations combat aptitude rankings, I am the first amongst all Valkyries."

"It was you? You're the new Rank One? Then- Sekhmet?"

"Saskatoon?"

People could guess, but the ambiguity would drive the speculators crazy.

I kind of hope what we did with the towns come up.

It be interesting to see what audience reaction would be to that nonsense.

Yeah, I know, but when it is your only reason for a vote, I've never seen anything like that ending well for the characters in a quest.

Reminds me of early AsukaQuest TBH.
