Way less than "Meteor that kills dinosaurs" that's suposed to be one of the Antagonists BIG weapons.
Ahahahah no. The K-T impact was orders of magnitude less energy than you'd need to actually erase Australia as a continent. First off, sinking continental crust is impossible because it's less dense than the mantle it's floating on, so to remove it you'd need to either reduce all of the continent above sea level to orbital ejecta, or melt the entire continental mass and sufficient surrounding mantle material to destroy the continent.

Assuming the first since it's far more feasible (any energetic event/impact that could melt a continent can already reduce it to orbital debris several times over) you'd need an impact crater with a radius more than 20 times the K-T impact to destroy australia. Width of Chicxulub crater is 110 miles, width of australia is close to 2500 miles.

Do you think there used to be another continent before it got hit by that meteor? Perhaps thats how the Indian Ocean was formed? Or perhaps you don't realise how big Australia is.

Regardless you are completely wrong. The Chicxulub crater where the meteor impacted has a diameter of more than 180 km. This is massive, infact its one and a bit Wales, but still far far smaller than Australia which is 372 times larger than Wales.

Not really.

Mind you, you will need to take the entire size of Australia's above water landmass, scrape it off and somehow move it towards the ocean, still something that's going to take some major effort.
I generalized as orbital ejecta because a lot of impact debris tends to end up that way, at least in the short term. The K-T impact, for example, is marked by a distinct band of iridium rich sediment that is present on every part of the globe where it hasn't been eroded away. I assumed that with an impact large enough to remove Australia most of the debris would be orbital at least for a time, given the sheer amount of energy involved.

Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. I didn't ACTUALLY expect I'd spend 12+ hours doing homework and NOT be entirely done with it. Ow. Ow.

*mountain of random stuff collapses on kai*

*head pokes up*

I'm okay guys--

*more stuff falls on face*

*muffled noises*

Alpha, push that deadline back 24 hours. I didn't --

*anvil falls on kai*

... Fuck. Fucking fuckity fuck. Ow.

I can still make original deadline. I think. But uh...

*piano falls on top of anvil*

... Fuck.

Some of the stuff Pink says makes no sense whatsoever -- I remember getting into an argument with him a couple hundred pages back when he claimed it was illegal for Anna to have been fighting off the AGs that were attacking her town pre-story. Yes, I know exactly how strange that sounds. Yes, it really happened.
...Link?

For those of us who have not yet discovered this.

Earth Impact Effects Program

Mess around with this to get an idea of the effects of trying to take off continents. From what I remember from previous forays into its simulations, continent wrecking tends to be fairly terminal on a planetary scale. As in there would be no place on the planet that would be habitable in the aftermath.

Type 0 units have quite a lot of firepower, but it tops out in the low end of atomic weapon yields on a per second basis at best in as far as I can tell.

@Avalanche I've been wondering this for a while but will there be any omake/interlude about when the UN high command got the report on Anna and what she accomplished (soloing Sekhmet and the breach)?

We got some of it from the view of the Valkyries that discovered Anna, but I'm really interested in how the generals/admirals reacted to the situation.

Ugh, dammit battery.
I thought up something while I was out, but the power's out so I can't put it down in a post, now I forget what it is that I thought of. :I

I don't have a particularly solid idea of an snip in that general direction right now, you never know though. Find out next time, on Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV, you are the Waifu)
@Avalanche : You know... something that I have been wondering for a while now. What kind of person/valkirie is Zoe?
Uh- um- Find out next time, on Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV, you are the Waifu)!

We would find out if OP delivers...

Yes, I'm of the opinion that 2 months is a plenty long wait time...

Can you point me to when that was? I am kinda new to this thread. And I find navigating all the important posts difficult.

So you just didn't think about it yet? Heh.

ah, hey @Avalanche when you said Shuri engaged in a prolonged melee contact with Hou-Yi, did you mean a duel?
Well, my actual question, is Shuri's current combat rating her combat rating after being wounded or is it her 'peak performance'?

Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV, you are the Waifu)

Not quite as ridiculous as I made it sound, but pretty much 90%, especially when you think about the context. The link goes to the bottom of the chain of quotes, you can follow the arrows up.

In other news, I have... uh... 5 math problems left. 4 of them I think will be like 2 hrs. The other one... idk what I'm doing about that, don't think it's solvable with the tools we're given, sent a mssg to the prof about it last night. Once that's done I'll either collapse and we'll have to push deadline back even further...

Or (hopefully) I'll go full super saiyan and we'll have this done partway through monday.

It wasn't really a duel, they both had supporting forces engaged around them. Shuri was the only one to engage the Type Zero consistently in close range though.

As for her rating, in a word yes. Slightly expanded upon, it's tentative as she hasn't been in actual combat since joining the UN Valkyries nor has she volunteered for a combat ability assessment. The UN are basically working off their old and somewhat uncertain data for her and modified to take into account her injuries, though the UN aren't really sure how much they would effect her either since she really hasn't given them enough data points to establish her current combat capability.

The closest we've had to something like that is Vae Victoria by our very own Kaizuki. It's long, but definitely worth the read.
I meant the little snippets of conversation from the first story post.

Saskatoon Breach is down! It's down, it's down! Repeat, Saskatoon Breach is has been destroyed! - Holy shit, we found Type Zero Sekhmet! What? Of course it's dead, you think I'd still be alive to talk to you if it wasn't? -

Please…

TAB 15, we have eyes on the bogey. It's a Valk. No IFF - Unknown Valk, please respond -

I'm back…

Good god there is a town here? So close to three Breaches? - 'Was a town' are the right words. So many graves, oh my god. - The bodies in the cellar are still warm, the attack must have been within the last day… - Miss. Excuse me miss, we're part of the United Nations Armed Forces -

You're late.

Dammit she's lost it, take her down! Take her down!
We got a bit of the conversation about the whole situation from what the valk was saying, but what I'm really interested in was what was happening in the HQ and what the generals and admirals were thinking as the reports came in.

I'd say I'd write an omake about it, but I'd be lying. I detest "woah, holy shit, wtf" infodumps involving a bunch of characters ooh-ing and ahh-ing over what-have-you.

... I think it's leftover trauma from reading too much bad Naruto/etc fanfiction during my earlier years... and short/bad worm fanfiction more recently. "look at me, I can do this, I can do this other thing!" "Wow, such doge, much amaze!" etc. etc. etc. Then instant abandon... or 100k of garbage, take your pick. Makes me want to murder a rabbit.

Other news. I died. I have to work until, uh, like... noon tomorrow, plus lunch. Then I'll slap myself in the face with my instant motivation track and hopefully edit until midnight. Or something. On the upside, after tomorrow, I have like... four hours of work left in the entire week. And no classes. This can only end well for us, yes, yes. And then! THEN! *anvil drops on Kai's head* ow god dammit stop doing that to me.
