@Kaizuki : Well, consider me partially inspired. As no one actually answered my question I will put that omake on hold. I envision a scene after all is said and done in your post, but before I write an omake for an omake I want your permission first.

Once all the fighting is done, Anna meets the other humans. The problem? After days-weeks of constant fighting, this is the moment Anna becomes Anna/Durga. She opens the armor and it is...messy.

Um. Um.

Much as I shy from raining on you, I uh... that definitely wasn't the epilogue I had in mind.

But it would only be an omake...

Uhm.

Let's... I honestly wish you wouldn't, and the ENTIRE reason for that is... a lot of things.

... How do you tell somebody that you're squicked by their omake idea?

I... just... just do it for canon if you're going to do it...? *runs away*

No worries. You don't like it, I wont do it. Simple as that.

"Vae Victoria"
Holy shit.
...
Funnily enough, I was just now trying to figure out what "Woe to the conquerors" would be in latin.(vae victores, it seems)
Now all we need is a dedicated author to write a fanfiction on BAHHSCQ that's longer than the original.
Yeah...no. But this has given me ideas. You should be terribly ashamed, giving me ideas!

Fanfic Parody #1: The...you know what, you'll see.

"Hi, I'm Ivory light'...nessity Mania Dove Mary Sue Over! I'm, like, the most popular girl ever and the best ace an pretty and..."
[This goes on for some time]
"...but not too thin!"
It was at this point that Anna walked in, took one look at...it, and promptly atomnized it before going onwards, to find her favorite pillow.

Fanfic Parody #2: The Self Insert!

One moment I was writing deliciously meta stuff on, like, the best quest ever conceived by man or beast. The next I was drowning. Sucks, eh?

(If you look at the map, then you might notice an utter lack of phallic-shaped states on the eastern seaboard of the united states where I live-or, indeed, an eastern seaboard)

Fanfic Parody #3: The Poorly Translated One.

"Lips of the plates, cover the front? You're...you're...I don't think so. Yes!!!!! The lily? Sandra leaned back and smiled: - I'm glad you decided to come with us after all. Okay. Okay. Go hand in hand, in response to the message. He said he will open the eyes of my child, get up on your feet, to prevent the release of the game because of the Bad treatment program. Underneath that amalgam of dense Impeller fields, AG Titan-class armor, myomer-like supermaterials, and even more armor... lay a somewhat conscious girl, full of barely healed scars and hasitly regenerated body parts.

Think Ghost In The Machine-levels of man-machine interfacing. It's as if Durga already considered Anna's barely functioning (in the biological sense) body to be also part of a greater machine, and went onto "upgrading" her meatbag body.

tl;dr - Terminator-esque body horror, courtesy of Durga's attempts to keep Anna alive in the middle of 3 Breaches.

29 August 22PI, 1000 Hours, Los Angeles Approach, Hell

They had killed her and now she was killing them. But… it hadn't been quite right, recently. Something had felt wrong. And now she knew. Because this Evil Place was different from the last two, somehow, bigger, darker… more. And she knew that this was the place she would fall, and she did not care because she was killing them. She had taken and changed and now she used, their evil was also their downfall. And then the sea of them parted and there was not a Massive One but three Massive Ones and she knew that now was the time she would fall because the sea of them was too powerful for her to attack the Massive Ones with the Wave without being destroyed.

And it was at that time and in that place that there was an other. One that was not them and not her. It was powerful and weak and massive and so, so small all at once because its form was huge and its weapons innumerable but every single one was pathetic. It looked like a pyramid and flew like a rocket and she felt it and it sang to her. It sang and the words were plot firing vectors confirm y/n firing and it did her bidding and tried to kill them.

I… am not alone? They are dead, blood on my hands, I am… alone?

The other was weak and its senses were feeble and so she sang to it and taught it what to do and then it no longer tried to kill them but instead did the killing of them.

And she realized at that time in that place that she might not fall there because if she did not need to attack then she could survive until she was able to attack.

Then from the other came ones like her and she knew that they were humans and realized that they would die and in that moment where she knew she might prevail she despaired.

Oh Anna, even if it's probably Durga now. You need a hug. Poor thing. That last line. Damnit.

I honestly got stuck on "Vae Victoria" as the name and even though Google Translate doesn't QUITE match it with "Woe be the Conquerors" I ran with it. It's hard to accept reality when you've already had the name for three days.

Eh. "Woe to victory" or whatever is close enough.

For the love of all that is holy Kaizuki, DONT READ THIS!
Yeah...not quite what I meant. At this point opening the armor is less "reveal the beaten body" and more "why is chunky red-soup and ground beef pouring out? Oh, god, that's all that is left of the pilot. BLURG!"

Flesh and bones are weak, the mind and metal are strong. When you are constantly fighting for a week straight, repairs must be optimized. Kaizuki might be right about it being too squicky.

... Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Kaizuki on this. Too much squick. Much too much too much.

How long did you spend just finding and adding all those different breads?!?!
I'm not going to answer that. Here's the final list, though. It's missing about five that I decided not to include because they were pastries, which are explicitly on a different list.

I wanted to to be more multicultural, but it came out to be mostly European. Oh well.

I don't know, I pictured Durganna as having long since cannibalized (in every sense of the word) the meatbag components. I wasn't sure whether to play the scene where Koujirou finally convinces Durganna to open her faceplate and there's a mostly-intact skull with a few wires running into it as black comedy(K:"At least I don't have to worry about tongue"), or as something sympathetic and heartwarming, where Koujirou decides that Anna is still his friend and still needs regular doses of cuddles even if she's effectively a ghost.

go for the latter, you need bits of light to go with dark.

Also, credit where it its due, I made the last one by copying part of the last update and putting it through bad translate.

The thing is, on consideration, I'm not sure this is a -5 world. The world you present, is one of heroes. Rushfield, and by extension the Perk Ark, are stepping up when the world is on the line. They fight futilely, against hopeless odds, yet they spend their lives with honor and dignity, if not glory, holding the line against the night. So that, maybe just maybe, some sliver may survive and make it not all for naught.

From the tone chart I had gotten a very different feeling of what a -5 world was. When the World is on the line, instead of stepping up people fall apart. A world where the bleak hoplessness of the situation brings out the worst, rather than the best. A world where the power structures are corrupt and contemptible, yet there is no alternative for the wolves are at the gate. Where that gate will be opened by the greed, stupidity, and cruelty of the people inside. Where the world is perhaps not worth saving.

I don't know if I'm making sense, but your take seems a more hopeful take on -5 than I had gotten the impression of from the Tone Chart.

You're trying so damn hard to contort your mental outlook to qualify that omake as a -5 world; it makes much more sense to consider it a -3 world that is teetering towards -5. It could be worse, but not by much; humanity is still trying to avoid utter fragmentation and cooperate, rather than compete for survival; etc.

(still kinda weirds me out that the scale goes [-5, -3, -1, 1, 3, 5], not gonna lie)

I though there were two and 4 worlds, but the degrees of difference we sharpest at the odd numbers?

Yes, absolutely. The rating of the world is one of tone, not situation, and this tone is thoroughly hopeful. You get the feeling that humanity will prevail, even against the impossible odds.

Consider Gurren Laggan: despite the narrator telling us that the world is a hellhole and that humanity's only chance is too hide beneath the ground, I'd call the world +1, because you never doubt that the heaven's will be pierced, that a happy ending will be achieved.

The world in this omake is probably -3, or even -2 - it's far too optimistic for a proper crapsack world.

Eh. "Woe to victory" or whatever is close enough.

It's very heavily based on the theoretical Vae Victus mission and the details that @Avalanche posted about the world surrounding that mission, so I REALLY wanted to play off of that name as much as I could.

YES YES YES YES YES YES SOMEONE GETS IT

Vae Victus is Woe be the Conquered.

Vae Victoria? Vae Victoria is Woe be the Conquerors, more/less (lit. Woe be the Conquest).

IT'S NOT ACTUALLY -5, IT'S VICTORY (or what passes for it) IN THE -5! Well, technically -3, since there isn't a superhuman in my headcanon for it and that means that it's the noblesse oblige instead which makes it -3 or whatever, but that's not the POINT.

It's dark! It's dark as the SV "write a post" box's background! But it's NOT HOPELESS! AT ALL! *runs in circles*

Although @Dark Abstraction a lot of the reasons you are giving for it being -3 are there because there isn't any inter-ark interaction being shown during the short time period listed. @Avalanche tells us that much of what makes -5 different from -3 is that humans are competing AGAINST each other ON THE SURFACE to be the first ark to lift off because the fleet can only sacrifice itself one time to get one ark off the planet. That's present in this but it's completely off screen. Not all of the Military Dictators conform to the prime directive. Ark Ship Noah was the "greatest hope" because it was being BUILT in orbit where the fleet wouldn't have needed to die for it to get out.
