That's a bit dissapointing.
I at least wanted to ask about her ascendance and the fall of the True Dragon and that's something I don't think we should talk to a priest about.
Does he even know his goddess was once a mortal, most likely thrall to the Lords of Air and Fire?

You can still ask to speak to the goddess now, it's just more polite not to do so upon knocking on the temple door.

It's born from the left-over kinkiness of draconic bondage play.
My guess would be that the first rope dragons, where born from dragons being tied down by rope and killed, killing a dragon release a lot of energy, and dragons are ridiculously virile, if Kobolds can be born from dragonblood being shed on stone, then rope can become rope dragons, from being soaked in the blood of a dying dragon.

@DragonParadox , so, if we let the necromancer study the dracolich and the Shadow Tower we can get anything we want out of him right?
@DragonParadox, this would be literally everything, just for the record. His entire library, all his research, permission to commission all his spells, etc. If we really offer up the chance to study the Shadow Tower and Amrelath, nothing less than this will suffice.

Yeah, no access to the Shadow Tower for any non-allied Volantene mage. And we better be damned certain of their loyalties first.

The Shadow Plane, which has some ties to our Tower's demiplane, also has a certain affinity for the Undead.

@Duesal
Things to offer Necromanser:
Access to Corpse-cage (unique artifact that deals with undead),
Lich's Library (duh),
Amrelath's books (both one that is ready and few that are in writing right now), also this is probably the prize as it has knowledge on making a phylactery,
Lya's Drum of soul-speak (unique artifact that deals with undead).

Access to our entire library.
Including those few books we will never research otherwise, like soul-flaying techniques of Rakshasa.

Also that "Strange Shadow" we had yet to research.

@DragonParadox , so, DP, how would we do to increase the size of the Shadow Tower Demiplane? I'd like to make it grow until something bigger at some point, with more buildings and all that.

Can you honestly tell him you would need the necromancer's help?
Amrealth's phylactery uses negative energy, and creating it was likely a necromantic ritual, right? Lya is outstanding, but this guy is an expert in this field. And transferring a soul from a phylactery into a living unborne host without any lingering curses or lower level claims stopping that, now - can we honestly say we wouldn't be happy for the additional point of view?

Why would you want to? You have not used the outside yet.

Point, you can make the argument.

So, I have taken a look at our library...
@Duesal, we can promise him access to following books (also getting a free study action done with Kaj's book, which no Companion would be really happy doing):
Kaj's Notes (Rakshasa Soul Lore)

Description: Like the treacherous Rakshasa themselves, nothing about this collection of tightly bound parchment belies its sinister nature, transcribed by one fiend from the work of her former master, some of the more esoteric words left in their original form with explanations ranging for several paragraphs.

Content: Row upon row of dreadful experiments beside which the slaver's lash seems a gentle caress, and the most excruciating torment that can be inflicted upon the flesh seems a mercy—the secrets of a flayed soul.
The Bitter Cup

Description:
Wrapped in the rust-red scales of some strange beast of the Southlands, this book holds within many insights on physical and mental characteristics of the living dead. While one could not become a necromancer by studying this book, it would certainly improve one's chances of encountering the greater dead, be it peacefully or otherwise, and living to tell the tale. Scribbled among its last pages one can even find the formula for a mild poison that can harm the unliving.

Content:
  1. A character who studies this book over a period of one week and makes a DC 18 intelligence check gains +2 Sense Motive and Diplomacy against sentient undead and +1 Competence bonus to hit against them with weapons and spells.
  2. Simple necro-posion formula (1d2 Charisma damage primary and secondary damage. Two consecutive DC 13 Will negates
Undying Fire

Description:
Written and illuminated in the tongue of dragons all but lost to the world upon pages of finest calf-skin bound in beaten gold and gleaming rubies, this book contains the musings of the ancient Red Dracolich Amrelath the Accursed. Herein one may find vision of the world from mortals to gods to the underpinnings of magic itself and through it gain insights on the nature of both dragon-kind and necromancy.

Content:
  1. +5 to knowledge rolls regarding the habits and character of Chromatic Dragons; +5 to necromancy related knowledge rolls; The bonuses stack if the topic of researched relates to both
  2. Contains the ritual and alchemical preparations needed to create a Dracolich
the rest of rare tomes can be researched by soeone else.

Access to our extensive library too.
Aaand whatever we got out of Lich's library as well.

[X] Finishing Up
-[X] Lore Exchange with Necromancer:
--[X] If Viserys thinks it more viable, then this should be spread out over time so as not to play all our cards all at once.
--[X] What we want:
---[X] Our goal is to end up with his whole library added to our own
----[X] If necessary, then we trade lore for lore, but the hope is that the chance to study a Dracolich in person outweighs the value of anything he can give us
---[X] For him to write us an advanced guidebook to necromancy
---[X] Securing him as a future guest lecturer or even a full teacher at the Scholarum
--[X] What we offer:
---[X] All offers for study are with the condition that he shares the results of his research, and only after Zherys is confirmed to be loyal for the study actions (but obviously this will be explained away as something else, like needing to get our affairs in order), while the lore can be traded right away:
---[X] The chance to study the Corpse-Cage
---[X] The chance to study a true Dracolich (Amrelath will need to be convinced, but the argument can be made that an expert in necromancy will be useful for our efforts to bring him back to life)
-[X] First Spear of Meraxes
--[X] Politely ask if you could speak with his lady directly, for you had much you wished to converse with her on.

I'm really unsure about this vote given the concerns raised on Volantine loyalty, so I added this part:

"and only after Zherys is confirmed to be loyal"

That way we can sidestep this whole mess if it turns out Volantis was a bust, and the trade for lore can still go through immediately. We should be good on time to bring Amrelath back to life since that's still very much a work-in-progress, so we can have the necromancer study him and also take Amrelath out for Tiamat-hunting.

@egoo, giving the dracolich lore devalues the actual study of the dracolich.

We currently have over a half thousand people studying in Shadow Tower.

We plan to bring even more there.
At least 5 times that.

Whether we like that or not, we need to expand Shadow Tower's Demiplane to accommodate all mages studying there.

@DragonParadox, Naria studied the Lich's library for four uninterrupted days this month. Was she able to decipher it? Considering we already spent time poking at the Lich's skull specifically to help decipher the code, we should have figured it out by now.
