It... Really doesn't, I think.
A "live" example would bear far more use for him than simply lore in a book.

But whatever, I'm not hang upon that, as I only want to get him, the methods are irrelevant.

And on that note, I believe we should also add him to teaching roster of Shadow Tower.
Necromancy is legal in our empire, so long as it follows some laws.
Necromancers are useful.
He can teach while he is not studying stuff.

I say, loot him for at least 3 semesters (9 months) of teaching for a good price in gold and a promise of resurrection if he dies (that we also gave other teachers we hired on PoA)

I'm really unsure about this vote given the concerns raised on Volantine loyalty, so I added this part:

That way we can sidestep this whole mess if it turns out Volantis was a bust, and the trade for lore can still go through immediately. We should be good on time to bring Amrelath back to

You are offering way too much for what we are getting from him. Don't just dump all of that in his lap. Negotiate for what we get of his and what he gets of ours.

Even sharing the existence of Amrelath is a mistake, and there might be stuff in the Lich library which shouldn't be shared, such as info on the Landwarden.

Regarding Amrelath I think we're in the same position that we were in with the Sealord: everyone knows there was a second dragon in Tyrosh, and they would have run divinations on it. If Zherys ran so many divinations as to pry into our private conversation with the Sealord, I find it very hard to believe he wouldn't have already divined the nature of our dracolich. It's not like we stuck a Mind Blank item on him. I took out the Lich's library, though. You're right about that having information that we don't want to share -- namely, Valyrian Steel. We're not going to be beaten to that.

We need a forest too with shadow alinged PM flora. Also whatever herbs grow in the Plane of Shadow.
Where else will we hunt the shadowdeer and shadow boar. Pick shadowberries, and drink clear shadowwellspring water. :V

If Xor has free time next month could we put him on researching the Fungus Forge? He were stuck there for a few centuries afterall.

I'm honestly concerned we're offering too much too soon? I'd rather start out offering some of the notes and artifacts and then going from there if he seems interested and has worthwhile stuff to share.

Honestly, I think that's mostly due to us not wanting to stretch stuff for too many actions/updates OOC.

@Duesal, just add a note that if Viserys in-character thinks that more viable, do that over time?
Like, in the background?

Though, I think we are fine with the flow. We are either getting him, or getting him.

That's not the ultimate goal though.

We are, here and with Zherys, starting a knowledge-exchange that will end up with complete integration into the Scholarum.
Trying to squeeze out the absolutly best deal at the expanse of the other guy is ultimatly not that productive.

Besides, I'm assuming we'll go through things point for point IC, rather than heaping it all up.
 
@Duesal, please specify us wanting to get him as a teacher more than other things.
And us giving him a standard teacher benefits: rezz, bling, etc.
