... Recruitment time?
Not really. It's only a level 3 cleric spell. We can Blood Wish it, we can have Leila cast it once she hits level 5, all of our clerics and Lya can cast it, etc. This isn't something to drool over, it'd just make our lives a tad bit more convenient for research purposes.

Also, I flat out don't trust this guy. I hope this ends in a fight.

[X] "It is curious that they barred the gates of this temple, yet you could have them opened to speak to me. Would not the highest priests of the faith wish to use the guidance they found to treat with me instead of letting an ordinary priest make choices in their name?"
-[X] "Tell me, in which world did you see the mural that could have properly expressed the concept of enlightenment? I am curious to see it for myself."

Yeah. Outsider. He / She can decide over the priests heads, talks about artwork being so limited on the prime material and has a very keen understanding of the afterlife and the nature of our allies.

Also, I'm calling bullshit on any mortal being able to consistently beat Viserys Sense Motive with such a large margin that he couldn't even read any emotions.

To be fair the clothing does give a hefty circumstantial bonus, but something does feel odd to Viserys.

The greater of Azel's given options is really not something I would want to fight right now.
Low on spells, not properly buffed and with only Richard we'd be in big danger.

Psychopomp. The only guys that are so neutral and dispassionate that can even compete with Inevitables.

In fact, these ones are the inevitables of the cycle of life, while the Inevitables themselves deal with the rest of the laws of the multiverse.

The clothing is just supposed to be "reasonable doubt" on the nature of the thing we're talking to. The fact that we can't both, keyword there, both discern either gender or emotion, from which inferences can be drawn towards intentions and motivations, makes it clear that we are dealing with something non-ordinary.

I don't know if that means it is a high level PC, or an Outsider, but they're fishy beyond deliberately obfuscating everything but exactly what was requested of them, giving enough truth based on evidence we could reasonably know both from Knowledge Religion (and evidently Planes) and what bits and pieces we're aware of from just casually observing the environment the discussion takes place.

If these guys are indeed Psychopomps, then we should definitely not antagonize them, the same way we don't want to antagonize inevitables yet.

If it's actually Psychopomps, I'm strongly for establishing cordial relations and promoting the faith. If there was ever a religion that is trustworthy to not have their own agenda that opposes us, it's the guys who tell off Archons and Demons in equal measure.

And who eventually want us and all our companions to die like the cycle of life wants? The ones who actually oppose at destroying souls?

For some reason, the "I'm curious to see it for myself" line makes me worry about outsider logic going "okay, I'll kill you so you can see it. It'll benefit you in your next life."

Viserys currently has a +32 Sense Motive bonus, or +36 if there are any Grand Destiny charges left to use. For him to not be getting any useful information from this creature's words or actions, it needs to have an incredibly high Bluff skill rank.

Or more likely, we are conversing with a projection or Construct of some kind, one which relays only what is said by it's controller, without any sort of inflection or change in tone. To me, that's more believable than a very high level Cleric or even an Outsider, such as a Psychopomp.

If it is a Morrigna Psychopomp, we might be in for a fight- after all, who else on this Plane has recently flouted the cycle of death and rebirth?

IIRC, Psychopomps have little concern for the use of Resurrection magic. That doesn't pervert the cycle so much as temporarily delay it, at most.

Even feeding stuff to Yss to perma-kill it through soul destruction might not be something they consider actionable, as Yss is a god of death and the soul is being destroyed as part of killing the sacrifice.

Psychopomps are more focused on abuses and misappropriation of souls in the afterlife, after the mortal coil has been cast aside.

My memory is far from perfect, however, so I might be wrong on some of that.

Asmodean cult thematics intensify. The degree to which I want to burn this entire damn temple to the ground has done nothing but increase since we got here.
