It was a bit of miscellaneous information that might or might not prove to be relevant depending on our next actions. :V

Well that was a clear deflection. I am not particularly bothered however.

I am impressed by this guys bluff skill. Holy shit.

Maybe its another divine avatar.

So, why don't we scout these guys via a magical eye or something? We can totally do that. And stop our paranoia.

Kinda seems like we keep walking into situations where it would be trivial to tear apart the ruse if we only hadn't used up our single use short-duration True Sight. :eyebrow:

I sorta like Creepy!Buddhism, I will be saddened when they are summoning a divine avatar for us to fight.
Also, given that Viserys isn't stomping a social combat mud hole in this guy, I think it's possible we are dealing with some kinda goth bodhisattva.

Yep one way or another these guys are gonna have Monks....let's get some.

Seriously thought if they aren't demonically corrupted we could send interested Scholarium members to become monks here. If they are we burn the place down but loot the scrolls and books first to make dragon monks.

Also if things go south and they do summon an Avatar or a Uber daemon prepare for everyone to be Kung-fu fighting!

If they don't id actually be fine with having armed monks among our populace. Security would go way up.

Bloodwish it?

Why would you do something as evil as sentencing someone who was in a magic college to become a monk?

No need!
There's a neat ritual we only have to dip 1 research action into, that will allow us to restore writings from ashes.

There's those Illyrio's documents...

And many, many potential uses.

Burning down places will be much, much easier without a threat of losing lore.

[X] "It is curious that they barred the gates of this temple, yet you could have them opened to speak to me. Would not the highest priests of the faith wish to use the guidance they found to treat with me instead of letting an ordinary priest make choices in their name?"
-[X] "Tell me, in which world did you see the mural that could have properly expressed the concept of enlightenment? I am curious to see it for myself."

Yeah. Outsider. He / She can decide over the priests heads, talks about artwork being so limited on the prime material and has a very keen understanding of the afterlife and the nature of our allies.

Also, I'm calling bullshit on any mortal being able to consistently beat Viserys Sense Motive with such a large margin that he couldn't even read any emotions.

Potential fight, here we come. :D @Artemis1992, you should be happy about this. If things go well we have our excuse to go after another god.

Well, we'll see if our guide here is a Bodisvattha or already beyond the cycle.
If he doesn't react to this it's Truesight/Arcane Sight time?

Not really.

Might be some smooth-talking outsider, but that only means the temple has real power, not that it's an enemy.
We'll have to judge as we would a regular church.

Still happy that in the actual case things do go south we have a proper fight, rather than a massacre on our hands.

What about a "hope you aren't delaying me to let your other dudes summon some sort of monster thing". I mean, I'm not worried about insulting them, and it is a reasonable concern imo.

Oh! And ask him/her to argue against the tenants of their faith for us/explain some of the common arguments against it that aren't "all gods but Burny are demons" or stupid bullshit. I mean, I don't even understand what Trios' domains are.

@Azel I'm assuming you're typing from your phone or something, or are just kind of on a bender still (people quest while drunk?) That second half was kind of hard to parse.

I'm thinking that it could be a psychopomp. The faith lacks any obvious moral message and concerns itself a lot with the flow of souls. There's also the noted disappointment that we didn't want to join, because we are liable to get lost on our path, which would fit a psychopomps view on eternal life.

Psychopomp, Morrigna – d20PFSRD
Investigator, thus potentially interested in us.

Psychopomp, Olethros – d20PFSRD
They are noted to have great interest in birth, death and the fate in between, which perfectly mirrors our discussion.
