I'm also very much in favor of Justiciar.

Also, what's the general plan for dealing with two types of Daemons that have Greater Teleport at Will?
Murder the shit out of them?

These guys are pretty noticeable, so even if they make a break for it, Aradia and our raven flocks would spot them quickly again. Once Viserys saw them once, the Wayfinder can track them down. Game over.

I figured. :( I'd like to hit at least a few of them with Dimensional Anchor and either BP or SC them, though.

This might be one of the few times we'll actually have a contested vote over a level-up.
Well not yet - right now both paths involve putting everything into Knowledge (Religion). I suggest that we fluff this by having him have a few long talks with Daenerys and Lya!

@Azel if he were a Contemplative, what domain would you give him? I like the Air or Storm domains because they grant him access to some great spells for large-scale battles (control Weather at level 7) and then a few nice side bonuses. The Air domain has Control winds at level 6 too and the ability to command air creatures (which LE Malarys will undoubtedly be ruthless enough to use to keep some enslaved minions around - we could probably demand that he keep some with Int 2), but Storm domain has Ice Storm and Sleet Storm. I'd pick Air myself.

@Artemis1992 where are the rules for Justiciar again? The one Google turns up can't possibly be what you mean (it's terrible and doesn't seem to advance spellcasting).

Would you guys be alright with Viserys doing the Commune spells? Personally I think it makes IC sense for him to take on some of the load there, but since we are talking about taking XP from the main character I feel I should ask first.

100% for this
Was going to suggest this myself to planners - it's very IC of him, and takes some of the sacrifice from party members.

Edit: Travel is a favourite of mine, and Trickery is one of the big ones.

@DragonParadox, we can hope for lots and lots of these, right? :D

EDIT: Son of a bitch. Of course the Thanatodaemon and Luekodaemon have Greater Teleport at will. Capturing them is going to be a massive pain in the ass.

Sorry, I know you want sacrifices, but in this case, trying to capture most of the Daemons just isn't worth it.

We need to do this quick and clean and without any more complications than necessary.

Dany and Malarys will both have Dismissal and Banishment spells prepared, and Vee will also be using Banishment. Viserys might Blood Wish one or two Banishment spells as well.

This isn't going to be like the time we were able to go Turtle Happy capturing the Maenads.

I'm holding out for at least one or two of these things. We have Dimensional Anchor. Yes, trying to capture all of them would be dumb and end in disaster, but at least a couple would be enough.

The Domain needs to be thematic to Malarys and the source of his Divine powers. DP already approved several options when @Artemis1992 and I were talking about this earlier.

Among them were War and Domination. I would choose Domination as his first bonus Domain.

@Duesal, keep in mind that we have loads of possessed cultists wandering the city. We can gain a decent supply of minor Daemons the following days when we mop those up.

Just nail them with a Protection from Evil to eject the Daemon, then immediately turtle the blighter.

Domination is pretty great! And Spell Focus (Enchantment) is a good pick for him, considering. War is honestly pretty terrible - even the Evil domain is better!

It's the principle of it that hurts.

More than that, we'd also be Banishing whatever loot they have which I also despise. All the soul gems we could be taking from them, gone. Rare weapons, gone. Magic items, gone. Trophies and crafting materials, gone.

Have I mentioned how much I hate Banishment?

...One day, we'll need to make an artifact that will allow us to extend our usual buffing set-up to all legioners of ours.

I honestly think that Tyrosh will be taken somewhat easily after all that you have prepared, but I can't see us getting even a single heart tree out of such chaotic environment.
At least lots and lots of our subordinates will level up, eh.

Also, that thief?
What are the chances that it's connected with that spy Amrelath once mentioned?

Also,
[X] Azel

It's either that or the Daemons raping our shiny new city into a pile of ash. Which would you prefer? People loot or just a few items of which most are unusable by being tainted and trapped?

People loot, obviously. The sooner we get our empire the sooner we can turn on the Deep Ones and begin our extermination.

That being said, in the event that we're not able to collect something as a sacrifice, I would much prefer killing it over banishing it. Just because I prefer people loot doesn't mean I'm happy about burning other loot when we don't have to. These things are CR 13 and below, it's not like we can't manage it.

Okay, with 2200 trained soldiers, that translates to 26.5 Battalions, 20 HI Battalions and 6.5 crossbow battalions.

I'd keep 1 HI battalion and the half a crossbow battalion in SD at the Bloodkeep.

Lys gets its HI Battalion garrison.

Leaving us with 24, 19 HI and 5 Xbow.

The Crossbowmen are most effective either from the walls, or with a solid group of infantry in front of them, so keeping that and our sell-swords capabilities in mind...

Northern Slum Landing - Wolf's Teeth (800 Pikemen and 400 skirmishers), and 3 HI battalions

Southern Slum Landing - Long Axes (450 Armored Infantry), and 2 HI battallions and 1 xbow battalion.

Main Harbor Landing - Marco's Marksmen (500 Myrish Crossbow, 1500 spearmen), and 7 HI battalions

Inner City Tower Deployment - 3 HI Battalions, 2 xbow battalions

Anti-Daemon Tower Deployment - 4 HI Battalions, 2 xbow battalions

Edit: It uses 71 tons of our steel to equip them, taken with our 35 tons of steel to the Night's Watch, we have about 44 tons of steel remaining.

I don't see why Viserys or Lya can't BP/Bottle a few for a person to carry instead of banishment.

Justiciar of Tyr – Class – D&D Tools
DP has already allowed it, since it's basically nothing specific to Good or Tyr in it that doesn't also work with Law in general.
Why would you ever want that? Contemplative has better front-loaded stuff and then better capstones. Meanwhile Justiciar of Tyr mostly gives a few half-decent 1/day abilities (Smite Law. Detect Thoughts. Wow.), and some mild skill bonuses.
In 2 levels, if you took Justiciar you'd have detect chaos at will, smite law 1day and +2 to a few skills (Gather Information, yay! Malarys doesn't even speak most local languages!). If you took Contemplative you'd have a whole new domain which is far better (look at the Domination Domain: it's a free Feat and some great mind-control spells). Then in another level he'd get Slippery Mind (which is fantastic - amulets of Protection from Evil can be dispelled, this can't) and then a few better 1/day abilities (self-healing for example - better than melee combat buffs like Smite!) or immunities. And then the capstone is absolutely fantastic!

As per his Church Inquisitor class, Malarys is already immune to pretty much all mind-affecting spells.
Immune to Charms (Ex): A church inquisitor of 2nd level or higher is immune to all enchantment (charm) spells and effects.
Immune to Compulsions (Ex): A church inquisitor of 5th level or higher is immune to all compulsion spells and effects.
Immunity to Possession (Ex): A church inquisitor of 8th level or higher has immunity to magic jar, soul bind, trap the soul, a ghost's malevolence ability, and all other spells or effects that displace or replace a character's life force. The character can still travel to the planes via astral projection, if so desired.
The Amulet of PfE he has is just for the +2 AC bonus Vs Evil. So slippery mind really shouldn't be the deciding factor here.

I get it that the Contemplative is mechanically better, but I really like the fluff of Justicar more. Sounds more like Malarys then some soul-searching.

I would cut down the Inner City group by 1 HI Battalion and add that to the main landing.
Part of the main force will have to split off with Moonsong to take the inner city cult base and I think 3 HI batallaions are decent for that, since they will face heavy combat in closed quarters.

Ironically, fighting in the catacombs is tremendously advantageous for our HI, since it prevents long range fire and proper formations significantly reduce the risk of ambushes and encirclements.

...Can't we simply redesign a bit of Justicar, say, by adding that domain so many people want?
