Just realized a potential production bottleneck that might not be easily fixed: not enough raw fiber (wool, cotton, flax, ect)

Well, Myr is already the major textile center. I expect the Tyroshi trade them dyes and the Myrmen actually do most of the production. There still should be some native textile production in Tyrosh, and they do have their portion of the disputed lands which might be producing some raw fiber, along with foodstuffs, but it's probably not worth directly investing in.

Okay. I don't want to give him too much cash anymore if he's just going to waste it all.

@Goldfish, can you give him less than 1000 IM? We just got GM confirmation that most of this money is basically going to be thrown away. Maybe 500 IM?

[X] Goldfish

From his perspective it's not throwing it away. The Watch needs recruits, more then that it needs a better class of recruits that do not need training from scratch which means it needs prestige to attract nobles.

Behold, my fellow questers! I bring tribute! Meaning that I have altered and expanded my earlier omake.

The Whoremonger of Braavos

Viserys smiled brightly at his newly resurrected mother. "Today is a day of joy. I'm so happy to have you back, Mother. And everything else went great, too!"

Mother cocked her head inquisitively. "Did something good happen?"

"Yes, I just got seventeen Children!"

"Seventeen..." Rhaella echoed, her voice barely above whisper. "Viserys, how many wives do you have?"

Viserys blinked at his mother's non sequitur, but answered regardless. "None. But truth to be told, there is-"

"Oh sweetie," Mother exclaimed, cutting off his words, and drew him into a warm hug. "Were your father and I such horrible parents that you became a whoremonger?"

For the first time in years, Viserys found himself speechless.

"Mother, you don't know half of it," Daenerys said lightly, finally deigning to join the conversation. There was an evil glint in her eyes that instantly made him suspicious. "He was just thirteen when he first went to a bordello and since then whenever he sees a whore or a bedslave he rushes to them... His steward is a former courtesan, he spent weeks trying to teach whores to act like noblewomen, he paid to have a brothel to relocate into his capital, stole an Archon's mistress, and once even took a pair of twin daughters from a Volantine noble house."

His mother just hugged him harder.

Daenerys, however, wasn't done yet. "Actually, in that same party that he left with the aforementioned stolen mistress and the highborn twins, he also arranged his friend to sneak out with a noble heiress. Her wedding got called off, ruining her family. Lately Viserys has been employing a literal demon-whore from Hell to satisfy some of his more outragous desires. And-"

"Daenerys!" Viserys snapped, annoyed at his sister's missleading, tasteless jokes.

She was undaunted. "Brother's first mistress was something of a scandal; she had been a virginal temple initiate before abruptly moving in with us. Why, if you listen to the wagging tongues, she was supposedly banished from the temple for fornicating on-"

"Daenerys!" Mother interrupted, lifting her head from her son's shoulder, and this time the girl actually fell silent. "A fine lady shouldn't speak like that. Your bother's... dalliances, no matter how abundant or peculiar, are none of your concern."

"Mother," Viserys started, his voice pleading. "I don't think you understand..."

Rhaella shook her head. "No, I understand. I understand how terrible it must have been for a young, orphaned boy to be driven out of his home and into foreing streets. To be forced to live in squalor with harlots, thieves and brigands... No wonder you sought enjoyment where you could. And then got lost in the pleasures of the flesh."

Viserys couldn't stop himself from facepalming.

"But Viserys, I can understand that you have a grown man's needs, but you shouldn't parade these women in front of your little sister. Worse, you have appparently brought at least one into your household. Your future wife will not like that."

Viserys looked past his mother and met his sister's amused eyes. Her shoulders shook, her lips twitched, and she looked ready to burst into titters. He had to regain control of this conversation. "But she's-"

"I know that the Dornish have a reputation for licentiousness," Mother said with an imploring look, "but it would be foolish to expect her to tolerate mistresses in her own house."

Viserys sighed, his entire posture deflating. He barely noticed Daenerys giggling like a madwoman in the background.

This was going to be long day, he knew.

AN: I have become convinced that reason why Viserys wants to conquer the Daughters before the Seven Kingdoms is because they are also called the Three Whores...

Truly, Viserys is a man of singular purpose.

Also, on another note, I have recently started a new CKII game as Tiserys Vargaryen with the goal of creating a new great empire: the Vargaryen Chokehold!

Anyway, Tiserys the Wise had a genius daughter that I named Ayl. By the age of nine her diplo score was 22... Many nearby rulers glamored for her hand, but I wouldn't give her to filthy foreigners and so I married her to the heir of one of my more important vassals.

A few months after the wedding I checked how she was doing, and saw something strange. The first sings were positive: her new husband had fallen in love with her and she had taken up teaching both of his little sisters. But then I noticed that her husband's younger brother had mysteriously died mere days after the wedding, making him the sole heir to all his father's titles. Then a few weeks after that, her new father-in-law had died peacefully in his sleep, despite being just in his forties.

Coincidence? I think not.

That doesn't change my main problem: all the major flax and wool producing areas I know of are in Westeros.

And from our perspective, when we're going to be fixing those castles basically for free, it still seems like a huge waste.

@DragonParadox can the NW use the sacrificial weirwood weapons - would bones from what they themselves slay be valid to [Fabricate] into weirwood spears?

(Next godswood made up of a large part weirwoods and harvest what lumber we need. Just add bones and first men runes)

  • [X] Plan Quartermaster
-[X] Arms & Armor: We will provide every member of the Nightwatch with Masterwork armor and weapons of the highest quality, including weapons and projectiles fashioned from dragonglass. We should be able to begin delivering on this promise within a month's time.
-[X] We can provide magical healing to anyone suffering from injury or illness.
-[X] Along with deliveries of weapons and armor, we can also provide significant quantities of high quality foodstuffs. These we can begin much sooner, within a week or two, if there are no emergencies we must deal with.
-[X] Although they may be understandably wary of magic, we can provide them with simple but effective enchanted items which would greatly aid them in their duties and reduce their expenses considerably. Lanterns which burn continually with no heat and which require no fuel, items which can provide a limited amount of magical healing each day, and another which would allow a man who touches it to endure even the terrible cold of the North as if it was a pleasant spring day.
-[X] In the interim, while we gather and craft all of this, we would leave 1,000 IM to augment their finances. Ask that this money be spent on critical supplies or saved for emergencies, as we are hoping to provide for all of their needs that would otherwise require them to expend their limited funds.
-[X] We have in our service benevolent creatures capable of working stone as if it were clay. If the Lord Commander agrees, we can lend the aid of a team of Pech who would be tasked with repairing the deteriorating fortifications used by the Nightwatch.

Essos doesn't get as much detail, but you don't need to worry too much. North of Pentos (hills of Andalos) there should be wool production, and the flatlands and disputed lands should be able to grow either flax or cotton, and it's likely their main cash crops.

I'd really rather have Xor on "rebuilding SD according to Azel-plans" duty, rather than wasting his time on something that is reeeaaaally not urgent right now. They can do it themselves even, and the bigger influx of money we provide - the better our standing in their eyes.

Aren't we still waiting on the waterworks? Aquifer, fountains, bathhouses, etc. Isn't this why we need to buy a Scroll of Control Water? So we can make a permanent decanter to provide fresh water for the entire city?
That's under public works. Bath house, finishing touches on the piping and the city hall.

Alyssande wants to go back to Braavos right away so she needs a Greater Ribbon of Disguise (thank god we convinced her to study in SD for a few months first

Why do you assume that?

"I do not begrudge your desire to protect your home nor do I claim any right to command your comings and goings, my lady, but I ask of you consider staying here a while longer to learn that you may better fulfill your oaths of service under a new face and form, better guarded against prying eyes. In the meantime there are some among my company who might travel to Braavos and ward it against dark things." Maelor and Glyra might enjoy the task, you think.

Our agreement to her is that she can come back as soon as she gets the items. In the meantime, we send people in exchange.
Seeing as Maelor and Glyra are back, we can assume that she's back in Braavos, @DragonParadox?

@Diomedon, with the harbor and public works done, we are only missing walls in SD, right?

Menagerie as well. We need to rebuild residential districts and such still, but we don't need to drop everything and do it, just continue to chip away. I'll find that full list I had somewhere.

We need to prep Westhaven too. The Basilisk Isle base is...ugh. Moonsong. That can be pushed, probably? I'm not worrying about it until we actually get word on what went down there.

Infrastructure is done, then. But we still need that decanter crafted.

Also, just for confirmation, our expansive networks of sewers are done or do they still need to be built?

I think they're being built and laid as we moved along, rebuilding stuff. So the harbor and merchant quarter should have them, but the interior will get them as it's rebuilt.

I'm not assuming. I asked DP about this via PM a few days ago:
And regarding Alyssande, can you confirm that she's prudently taking lessons in the Shadow Tower and learning as many spells as she can while Uthero contacts us about any magical problems that arise in Braavos so that Glyra and Maelor can be sent to handle it? I think that would be the cleanest scenario for us. Alyssande gets stronger like we want, Glyra & Maelor get experience, Braavos gets protected, and Alyssande puts a bit of time between her "death" and her return using a different identity.
Yeah that sounds about right.

Mmmm, means we need to make sure Glyra & Maelor have some Braavos time each month. Ah well.

@Diomedon Basically, something like this:

Basic Assault Trooper - STR 16 DEX 12 CON 14 INT 13 WIS 10 CHA 8 - Warrior 3 - Power Attack, Furious Focus, Cleave - Equipment: Razor Sharp Mercurial Fullblade, Reinforced Fullplate, Mwk Buckler

Veteran Assault Trooper - As basic, two levels in Fighter, take Combat Expertise and Gang Up.

@DragonParadox Which is easier to train/acquire: A Warrior 3/Fighter 2, or a Fighter 4?

I just realized those guys would essentially fight like Swordsmasters of Hoeth: big fucking swords they swing around in a specialized pattern.

Anyway, "Fullblade +7 (2d8+10/19-20 x4)" is quite a nice attack line, even better with the trivial flanking bonus.

Fighter 4 would be a veteran Knight.

Warrior 3/Fighter 2 would probably count as a seasoned professional? Less focused martial training, but plenty of grit.
