Fuck Doran. This is for us. Rhaenys is a Targaryen, not a Martell.

If she's getting Resurrected, it won't be on our dime. No way.

Rhaenys is a Targaryen, why wouldn't it be on our dime? It's Rhaenys Targaryen, not Rhaenys Martell.

Because she's a young child and the spell will probably fail.

If anyone is going to waste all that treasure, it can be the asshat. We can sell it to him as a gift to Elia for all I care.

Dorne would probably happily pay for it once we bring Elia back.

But seriously, you're missing the point. Elia was a Martell and thus falls under Dorne's control.

Rhaenys, on the other hand, is a Targaryen. Yes, Elia is her mother, and Oberyn and Doran are her uncles, but ultimately she falls under our control since we're the head of House Targaryen.

We wouldn't be bringing her back for Dorne (like hell I'd give her to Dorne), we'd be bringing her back for us, because she's our family and she's a baby dragonlord/mage in the making.

It's not going to be any time soon, don't worry about that, and I have no issue with making Dorne pay for it, but I definitely intend to try at some point.

Doran can pay for it, but that doesn't mean he has any say so in her life. Same goes for Elia. She doesn't fall under anyone's control, as far as I'm concerned. If Elia wants to live in Dorne with her resurrected daughter, then so be it, but if she would rather live in SD, well too bad Doran.

Of coarse we're not giving her to Doran, we're just going to use Elias grief to force more out of Doran :V

There are practical concerns to our decision not to make a political marriage with some trophy wife. Aside from the fact that bearing children with someone not 100% loyal and entwined with our plans would be a disaster in the making given our blood, about to become a motherfucking dragon, there would only be resentment due to being excluded from... basically everything except token involvement in our empire. And none of the candidates anyone would put forth as suitable to wed us (aside from maybe Sansa and EUGHHH) would tolerate being sidelined by Lya, who we would obviously love x10 more than them.

Oh man, I can see it, Rhaella's as the uncle aunt everybody just loves, but always makes things awkward at family dinners due her inherent, sort of innocent, racism.

My mother is like that. One time when we were in a hotel reception, she suddenly started pointing towards a group of asian people and saying "ching chon chong" and laughing. When I tried to stop her, she told me that they didn't speak our language...

Rhaella is technically a successful Valryrian scion. Malarys is no longer a priest and is interested in mature women with Valyrian ancestry...

Eherm...

The next posts after mine is thread reacts to:

My Stepfather is a Lawyer!

Eh, she's no Aegon. Rhaenys should've had enough time to develop a separate identity/soul.

It's not just a matter of an identity and well formed soul. It's also a matter of desiring to return to life. Rhaenys lived a short life and died in a thoroughly unpleasant manner. She's now been dead for longer than she was alive. Expecting her to give up a comfortable afterlife to return to the Material Plane is naive.

I'd rather stop trying to resurrect so many people.

I mean, someone is going to argue in favor of Rhaegar too
And then we'd argue vehemently against it.

Some of us only considered the idea for the sole purpose of letting Elia scream at him. But since we can't put him back in the dirt after that without being a kinslayer I've completely lost interest in the idea.
