You are sounding as if you are offended that somebody is wrong on the internet. :V

I get you and I kinda expected your reaction to this, but it's pretty much wasted air and needless conflict.
Fine, you are right.
But could you, in the process of leaving, get at least can one stab on her in?
Pretty please because she really deserves it?

There are currently 3 Emperors. 2 of them with Kami-support. And 1 likely above this nonsense.
It's as fucking obvious as the ashes on the ground that the system of "let the Kami choose" isn't working and I will not let this stand as it does.
It might not help, but I want to be sure how stupid exactly she is before leaving here.

They have not actually let the kami decide for a while since the spirits were asleep. Yi Ti had blood succession and civil wars like most people, but in this age of reawakening magic people like Lady Xue are looking to the wise and immortal kami for answers and peace. Ning on the other hand sees the kami as friends and confidants more than sacred beings. That is what their conflict comes down to in the end.

I mean, you're right, but at the same time there's not a lot we can do here.

As far as this bitch is concerned we're "savage barbarians", so anything we point out will be dismissed as ignorance.

Their way of life has worked for "countless generations" so one dragon saying "this seems a bit messy, and stupid, and wasteful" would just be ignored if not outright derided.

Pol Ning wants to sleep in this bed because of honor or whatever there's not a lot we can do to change that. If she wants this to be the end of her story then so be it.

Sad as it might be, we can't save those who don't want to be saved. See the new shiny lawn ornament of a "nephew" we've got for proof of that.
Yeah let Pol Ning make her choice, if she regret it in the future, then I'm sure whatever bindings they are putting on her magic, isn't beyond our power to undo, and if it's some form of level drain, she just need to level back up.

No. It's serving no purpose right now. I just want to get on with stuff I actually care about and are interested in.

But I swear to you I will rub the finest Salt into her wounds if we ever get around to conquering this place, if that is of some consolidation to you.

It doesnt help that they are both right to certain degrees.

Kami are all different, just like people are all different.

And the "young informal radical group" and the "old conformative conservative traditional group" clicks cross quite a few species divides.

Yes, my fundamental issue is with letting wise and immortal beings take important decisions in human matters.

Asmodeus is most certainly wise and immortal. Much more so than 99% of all Kami, likely even any of them.
It's not inherently bad or worthless to let Outsiders decide, but far from fool-proof.

While this outcome is tragic, it does mean that if Xue's line of thinking is normal, simply diplomancing enough of the Kami into submission could get a good chunk of Yi-Ti under our control with minimal bloodshed once we actually have the means of administering it.

And now it bothers me even more that they are going to somehow lessen her connection to the Kami.

For all that I'm usually among the first to call for combat as a solution, I don't go out of my way to advocate for excessive violence. OJ and Xue are making me rethink that policy.

We could also grind the Mountains to dust, boil their lakes and make a second sun rise on the skies.

If that doesnt convince them the Kami aint all that nothing will :V

I'm not inclined to update and enact my contigency for accidentally conquering part of Yi Ti, thank you very much.
