[X] Plan Wrapping Up
-[X] Accept the request of Pol Ning. You will send someone to exfiltrate the three of them and give them a place in SD, or a chance to build a life elsewhere.
-[X] Tell Xue that you regret the apparent misunderstanding and wrap up the talk. Tyene and Dany will meet with Pol Ning in three days to officially say their farewells.
-[X] Move on to looting the Shadow Fortress and packing the ashes of your enemies for processing.

@Azel, could you specify us moving on to either looting/raising the Shadow Fortress, or Yss'ing F!Aegon, too?

"Where once Emperor ruled under the direct light of Heaven as its favored sun now the Mandate given by the grace of the kami. If the kami should lie for love of one shugenja or another there can never be peace only the Wars of the Clans come again and that I will stand against to my dying day. The risk of her gaining foreign support given her willingness to use such tactics so too terrible to contemplate."
[X] One method to decide on the Emperor is in the past, another can be too. Don't hang on the risks of loosing traditions, look into the opportunities it brings.
-[X] Why let uppity land-wardens and other spirits decide on a mortal ruler?
-[X] Do you think either of the current Emperors will accept such judgement? Two of them have Kami in their service and one is yet unknown to me, but from what I know unlikely to bow to such things.

This whole conversation with Xue feels like one long gods damned headache to me. While I am myself sympathetic to Ning, at this point this feels like a wash. You can't help people who don't want to be helped, and the longer this conversation goes on, the more the desire to get up and walk and let them rot grows in me.

I want Ning don't get me wrong, but now I'm feeling that we've invested too much for a whole lot of nothing.

Not every story can have a happy ending, I just build the characters and motivations and let them loose. How those interact with player actions and each other is up in the air until the moment comes to write it.

The rolls were fair but not so good as to go 'abandon my life and turn traitor to the family and culture I was raised in my entire life'.

Her argument is dependant on all Kami having the same opinion. The fact that the Blue court is still in the favour of the Kami proves this false.

Now might be a good time to point out how powerful Kami might not be the best judges of who should rule. We burned a Miracle to contact a Kami so it could warn Xue and Pol Qo of the GC plot, and it basically told us to fuck off, leaving the plucky minor Fire Kami to carry the message.

Hopefully they're taking advice from Kami who aren't colossal dicks.

I'm not quite seeing what you want or expect to achieve with this. Let the backwards barbarians do what they do. We can take care of that when we grind their gods to powder and take over the whole shebang.

Honest question on my part, but is this a protest vote or a serious attempt?

Everything we've seen about Yi Ti indicates that they take ancient tradition way too seriously, and family even moreso. Not necessarily in the sense of caring for family and giving them freedom to choose their own path in life, but more duty to the family as a whole (hence Pol Ning refusing our offer just now, out of an unwillingness to "betray" a family that's actively trying to discard her).

If this is a serious attempt, how do you plan to convince a Yi Tish noblewoman to ignore one of the most revered traditions of her culture -- following the will of the kami? If I didn't know that you've been genuinely trying to recruit Pol Ning I would have wondered if this was intended to spark a fight right here and now.

Why though?
We have said and offered what there was to say and offer to her.
Let her rot.

There are currently 3 Emperors. 2 of them with Kami-support. And 1 likely above this nonsense.
It's as fucking obvious as the ashes on the ground that the system of "let the Kami choose" isn't working and I will not let this stand as it does.
It might not help, but I want to be sure how stupid exactly she is before leaving here.

Well I'm going to vote for it, simply because dealing with Yi Ti has been one of the most frustrating parts of the quest for me, all this face bullshit is just tedious, and this vote looks cathartic after all that.

I mean, you're right, but at the same time there's not a lot we can do here.

As far as this bitch is concerned we're "savage barbarians", so anything we point out will be dismissed as ignorance.

Their way of life has worked for "countless generations" so one dragon saying "this seems a bit messy, and stupid, and wasteful" would just be ignored if not outright derided.

Pol Ning wants to sleep in this bed because of honor or whatever there's not a lot we can do to change that. If she wants this to be the end of her story then so be it.

Sad as it might be, we can't save those who don't want to be saved. See the new shiny lawn ornament of a "nephew" we've got for proof of that.

Refusing the meeting now after Xue apologized would be rude.

You are sounding as if you are offended that somebody is wrong on the internet. :V

I get you and I kinda expected your reaction to this, but it's pretty much wasted air and needless conflict.

@Artemis1992, if you want a spite vote, use Miracle until we can get a really powerful Kami and diplomance it into explicitly trolling this Emperor. Lie to him in public, complain about his slow response to Tiamat, something like that.
