That would be quite the sacrifice. :D

We can capture it if we put our mind to it. And by that I mean hit this fucker with Int damage spells (which it will be effected by because it has an Int Score and doesnt have Mindless) and make it go unconscious. Then put it in a bottle and toss it into Yss' gullet or to the Old Gods...whichever we need at the time.

Need to stop puppet while we have chance, hopefully capture it, while other group works on net to make sure that Oblivion doesn't get free in meantime.

Also need to check if anymore puppets around.

Which group would be best for two situations?

No way are we splitting the party, not with something that dangerous lurking about.

So I have been considering something writing related ad I'd like any opinions you guys have. Like I said a few days ago I've been watching Stranger Things... and then since I consume media in bursts I've tried to read some Stranger Things fanfic. Unfortunately I have not found much that was well written even on a technical level and those few that did live up to that were either saccharine shipping fics or one really depressing fic that while well written turns everyone into a mental wreck and alters character dynamics into being unrecognizable.

Now comes the question. As I was going though all that I started asking myself what I would most like and somehow those turned into a fic idea along he way, namely a Warhammer 40K crossover (maybe a quest, maybe a story) because the world-building elements fit so well it's eerie, psychic child gets abused to badly she is pushed over the edge and opens a hole in the world out of which monsters come out that want to enslave/kill everyone. The more I think about it the more ideas I get, character and setting wise. Do you guys think this is worth it?

I'm asking for more opinions because the last two times I tried to take on another solo project besides ASWAH they only got to a few updates before running out of steam I don't want to take time from a project I'm consistently creating for in order to work on a another dead end story. So what do you guys think, does the idea sound interesting? Would any of you guys have fun reading this, or should I just focus on ASWAH?

Your choice in the end but I wouldn't mind giving it a try, I personally think WH40K is overdone but I like your writing.

Nothing wrong with attempting something and maybe realizing later not for you. You won't know till you try it out.

Definitly sounds interesting, though diving into Psyker-children in a 40k crossover might not be enjoyable.

Generally no idea about Stranger Things, so I would mostly read it for your writing, not any particular like or dislike of the idea.

Malarys can cast Reached Sacramental Seal, which with a bit of buffing from Lya can have it's Will saving throw DC raised to at least 31 vs the Oblivion's +19 Will save bonus. If Vee hits it with a Pronouncement of Fate first, the spell would have an even better chance of succeeding, which can be further modified with Alter Fortune.

I'd definitely prefer ASWAH remain the main project, but this sounds like it could be a fun side-project for you to work on if you ever happen to need a break.

Never really liked 40k. Warhammer fantasy is more my jam.

Personally i think the tech level of 40k would make doing a stranger things situation in it would make it not as viable. Super powered weaponry designed to go against daemons and worse would make short work of the demigorgon and it's ilk.

Warhammer fantasy is more low tech and is more feasible that a bunch of cruel mages would mess with an uber powered girl touched by the winds and then be unable to deal with the issues.

I mean that is another way to capture it. I just wanted to knock another high CR creature to unconsciousness with Int effects but we can do it this way also. Either way I would love to capture this thing.

Excellent! :) I'm really looking forward to this fight now.

The idea was not to have space marines in Stranger Things, more 'Eleven is a psyker she works by 40K rules, the Upside-Down is a wierd area of the warp and somwhere out beyond the stars is the 40K galaxy still millennia away from its canon nadir'

I enjoy your writing, so I think I would check it out. If you are worried about not finishing it maybe try to write a short focused story that could be done in a couple of updates? You could always expand it later if you still have the driver to write it.

I honestly don't know anything about 40K beyond the odd internet ozmosis, but I'd read it if you wrote it.

Utterly unrelated to this current problem:

Right now we have an Erinyes, seven Legion Devils and a bunch of Legionairs in Westhaeven trying to work out a training regimen to get the Legion used to fighting otherworldly foes not totally out of their league (at least on a small scale since we don't have hundreds of minor fiends in our service), with the Merregons as the main sparring-partner.

How would you try to make something like that work out? Do you see Omake potential?

You lose 100% of docs you don't try. I can't say if it will go anywhere, but it's worth a shot!

Anywho. @Goldfish thinking about this things conceptual weakness to warm fuzzies made me wonder what would happen if we poured Dawn Mead on it.

Then I remembered that Ravages and Afflictions exist. Maybe we should try and make one from the dawn fruit. Could be extremely useful against the long night.

I know next to nothing about Warhammer but I would probably read it if you were writing it. It sounds interesting enough all things considered.

It's interesting, but I see two issues: no inherent in-story goal to achieve, unless you are altering them closing the gate. Any overarching plot would really have to be made from the ground up.

Second: that sounds like a lot of work, and I always worry for ASWAH

I'd totally read it, tho.

Also guys, we need a vote. I'm sort of busy preparing things for a twelve hour bus ride... which might be on a conventional bus, which would suck. Besides the fact that I'm going to the beach again after ten years... to spend four days where the forecast is rain and ~20 ºC.

@Goldfish Before engaging in proper combat with either the general or the Oblivion, could you please examine both for any magical protections/items and Dispel such if so?

Pre-emptive Dispels are usually the purview of those truly paranoid, but we handily beat such in action economy and if we mistep here, shall (potentially permanently) have people die.

So I'm not seeing any real enthusiasm for the story and @TotallyNotEvil is right about the lack of clear story goal. I would be setting off on something as open-ended as... well ASWAH and I would have to read up a lot more about the mechanics of 40K having never actually played a session of the RPG. This is going into the 'maybe later ' idea folder I think.

@DragonParadox
1. Will the Guardian be assisting us in combat?
2. Can the Guardian provide a quick map of the facilities? Aside from the control room what places do we need to watch out for?
3. Is there concern about the eggs being compromised as a result of the battle?

There's a lot of 40k peeps floating around if your interested in learning more. Myself included.

Either way, would you say my ideo for making the dawnfruit into a ravage to effect this thing has merit? In general I mean.

Wed need a couple of bags of holding full of the stuff to affect something of this size.
