I was mostly referring to the anglo-saxon population, not so much the ethnic cuisine. With a sizable number of citizens of Asian and especially Chinese descend, there is probably not a whole lot of things that aren't on the menu somewhere at least.

So I will put it down as "Yes, it exists, but it's more a niche thing."
I dunno, from an American perspective, we all eat foods from ethnic style restaurants on a regular basis. So it is part of our average diet.

I may be overexaggerating, and it might be different in rural parts of the US, but that certainly is the case in urban areas.

I want to say no to the Septon, but... This feels like a decision that we will have to take at some point.
There's no hope of stopping the Seven from spreading to SD (and maybe even Essos) without taking deliberate action, and that will sit badly with the Westerosi.
Furthermore, I think that our displays of piety with regards to the OG or Yss, as well as their clear power and excellent track record, will keep Seven influence low in our capital.

Eh, kind of.

You have like, the kind of broad national level normal for food.

Then you have the more state side local normal for food (alligator down in florida).

Then you have specialty stuff you can get anywhere.

Blood and organs might be state level normal elsewhere I dont know.

I wouldn't worry. They're going to be utterly knee-capped by far better gods, like the Moonsinger Goddess, the Weeping Lady, Yss, the Old Gods, etc. The Sevens have put a severe disadvantage on themselves by condemning magic.

Also, @Azel, we should get around to getting a Weeping Lady temple in Sorcerer's Deep.

Eh. It's hard to pin down "normal" good in an urban area. I lived in Berlin for a very long time and you could get anything there, from proper Mexican to proper Thai, including the odder bits and more questionable ingredients.

we still have to humble the seven.... Perhaps make a statement that, while we shall support the faith, it has, in recent years, grown beyond itself and has caused much pain and suffering. The faith shall be humbled, but is permitted so long as it follows the laws of the land, but we should make it clear that we are wary of his faith due to past experience and he will be closely watch to ensure that he does not try something foolish.

We shouldn't announce this goal. This is something we do on the sly... like converting Lord Grafton to the Old Gods. I'm eagerly awaiting the day he confronts Corbray.

This whole thing with the Seven shouldn't be much of a problem, all things considered. This Septon is actually extremely sensible, he just cares about people and happens to believe in the Seven. And their power projection is honestly pitiful (only 7 chosen to work in all of Westeros? are they high?) so I don't think they'll be able to use his sept for anything.

No.
Have you ever heard of this amazing thing called subtlety? Underhandedness? Not running headfirst into painful brambles?

I humbly ask for patronage as your House has given in generations past."
Hes not just asking for permission, hes asking for monetary help.

Which is part of why I wanted to know if he was actually a septon or not. Because if they seven actually approved this its... a thing.

Edit: I hope B.raven and the maidens chosen get that meeting set up soon.

He is a septon, it's just the Seven have a ridiculous policy of not empowering or talking to any beside their chosen. So this guy has no idea what the actual opinions of his gods are and is going with his own beliefs.

You know I wonder if the 7 could actually put up a fight against the OG if their own house wasn't basically on fire and in the middle of splitting itself in half.

This is why I brought up a census of faiths action. We are doing that later this month
...Are we?

Could you please formulate this in an action-like wording so that I could add it to Minor Actions list proper, then?

...sometime around in 6-8 hours, after I have some sleep and hopefully don't fail the exam? *prays to his cheat-sheets*

I would greatly like to actually get all the useful faiths started up in SD, like I wanted, what, 4-6 months ago?

But for now we only have "talk with red priests" on out platter.

The situation with the Seven is complex, to say the least. We've only actually 'seen' the Father and the Maiden, and can't even say with confidence that they're like the Greek Pantheon or the Holy Trinity. Still, dealing with the mortal parts of the Faith is something we have to do no matter what, and this guy seems like an ideal starting point.

I know however the power disparity is such that the intent does not really matter here.

Basically the King asked you to do him a solid by helping him reward someone he actually thinks did the right thing, without blatantly trying to screw you over. Do you say no and risk, if not him viewing you with disfavor, the perception that he does bleed over to all of your peers?

Basically perception matters here, even if Viserys obviously seems to respect legal precedence he is a conqueror who overturned many laws, and people are afraid of him. Afraid enough to probably act against someone subtly or blatantly if they think he will like it.

This is how nobility think, basically, right @DragonParadox?
