Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Sky is Freedom, but Freedom doesn't mean ' a bit of everything'. It's definitely not the everything bonus, it's probably about Wind.

@yrsillar so there is no attribute cap increase or ??? bonus? very interesting. I was so sure we'd get cap increase.
Yeah, me too.

Also, it's rather curious that Ling Qi did not get anything related to music, given that she managed to get special music affinity.

Never be lonely again.

[X] Into the forest, full of life and joy. She did not want to leave her friends waiting.

Also, someone above said they thought this might set our domain. If it does, being a support specialist with the domain "our friends" seems pretty good.

[X] Into the sky, unfettered and free, to visit where ever she wished, at the time she wished.

Could be convinced to go for moon instead

[X] The little village, full of little people and shadows that would keep her safe.

Not popular, I'm sure, but it's by the actions of others that Ling Qi has slipped up into the reaches of the third realm. Not always friends, but also teachers, seniors, rivals, and patrons. And even if parts of Ling Qi are 'distasteful' they are no less essential...

Ling Qi seeks freedom through strength, rather than freedom through a lack of attachments. It's a bit Sith-y, but it works.
All cultivators are basically Sith; craving power, enhancing themselves via alchemy, being all about acting and doing, and all the revenge plots. They're just different kinds of Sith. Sun Liling is Bane, the rebel barbarian plotting against the established order as well as enjoying in-your-face butchery. Bai Meizhen is totally a young Kreia, complete with hard lessons and getting attached to her student. Cai Renxiang is wannabe-Revan, uniting the Outer Sect for their own good. Ling Qi is obviously a proto-Vader; a country bumpkin with great potential, attachment issues, and no idea what she's doing.

[X] Toward the moonlit peak and its unseen players, calling her to join the serenade.

Those are all quite interesting and in many ways fitting options and at least narratively I don't think one is significantly better than the rest. But since the scenes with the lute and the ice spirit were some of the most interesting ones to me and I like the idea of a music oriented cultivator I go with option ^^-

@yrsillar I am guessing we didn't get anything for water/mountain/lake because they got merged into the Imperial Element bonus, and the Wind bonus somewhat survived because of ??? but still got heavily limited because of the merge? Music element was just counted as just a single level and thus not worth thinking about?

[][breakthrough] To ensure that none would shackle her unwillingly
[][breakthrough] To ensure that any who brought harm to her roots would be punished
[X][breakthrough] To ensure that her wings could carry as much weight as she wished
[][breakthrough] To ensure that none would dare strike at her or her roots in the first place

The strength to carry whatever burdens she wished, to wherever she might go. The path of power unyielding in the face of adversity. She would not allow any weight to drag her back to the base earth.

Story Bonus
+4 dice to training of arts which use spine meridians.

Just a reminder of the choices we had last time at breakthrough, and the effect it had. Overall, I think the narrative focus of the choice influenced Ling Qi a lot more than the (relatively) small mechanical bonus.

I'll admit, the moon and music serenade is incredibly appealing, and I wouldn't mind it winning. But Ling's secret ability/birthright is related to wind and seemingly to the spirits dwelling in the wind, even though she seems to be blocking it out. I'm hoping that this breakthrough will also break through that barrier, and make Ling Qi face that deepest part of herself head-on and find out what it means.

Wind had more meridians than the others and two arts, plus the previous bonuses. Stat caps will come off when you hit full 3rd.

Some stuff is still hidden because your not done yet.

It's nice to see that Suyin still gets excited about the formation manual when it doesn't involve sacrificing people parts of the book.

@yrsillar do permanent bonuses from arts apply even when we don't have an art equipped?

Also, Argent Mirror and Thousand Ring Fortress should be unlocked now, right?

This is my first choice, though I'll probably switch to Music if it looks like sky or village is winning.
