Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

a couple of things stand out on the update:
-Shouldn't our Mother of somehting pill prevent backlash too ? seems like we'll be missing a EPC roll.
-The Pale Book seem to have quite a lot of formations. Maybe we can trade it to the library for something else once the useful formations have been picked out
-The puzzle minor didn't get a roll, and failed automatically. Maybe we're missing some vital part to it ... FVM6 ?

[X] The little village, full of little people and shadows that would keep her safe.
Because minions!
Though honestly all four are interesting.

Friends and connections are fetters, so I wouldn't interpret it as somehow broader or more inclusive then the other choices. It would be her cultivating her Wind and disconnected nature.

Fire in the Woods plays to our friends and Zhengui. We consistantly put them first, so it's the most IC choice to me, though I wouldn't mind the mountain or village, but the Sky just is uninteresting.

What about the desire to visit wherever you want whenever you want makes it seem disconnected?

Ahahhah... Those rolls...

Really like how it worked out narratively though.

Hmm, so choices:
- village is darkness/thief
- peak is moon/music
- forest is wood/support
- sky is wind/movement

Would be my guess in term of bonuses.

Thematically, as people noted, we're trying to move beyond survivalist mindsets and fear, so I'm not really in favor of village...

Hmm

[X] Into the sky, unfettered and free, to visit where ever she wished, at the time she wished.

This and the forest seem like the options that are most towards the type of person Ling Qi wants to be (Freedom, and someone who wants to help and be there for her friends). Freedom seems more important to her right now, though?

[X] Into the forest, full of life and joy. She did not want to leave her friends waiting.

I'm pretty sure this choice is also going to lead to, or give us the ability to walk a certain path in later cultivation, and when we reach/become a spirit (assuming this happens) what would we want?

Ling Qi really doesn't want to leave her friends behind, but from what we understand Spirits are lonely existences. What if we instead became a Spirit OF companionship? Some of the others will probably have better immediate bonuses, but the only other choice I imagine an immortal Spirit Ling Qi would be ahppy with is the Free Air one, and then not as much as actually being able to keep her friends.

Never underestimate the power of friendship.

None of the choices are a single thing.

Greeeeeen woo hoo! But @yrsillar you made a mistake.

Milk of Mother Earth: Allows the reroll of a single breakthrough roll, and on failure prevents lost progress. Effective on second, third and fourth breakthroughs

We shouldn't have lost progress on that second roll, which was a failure. Which should mean that we should get an EPC roll.

Wooops. I'll do an EPC roll in the next one

Going to fix stuff

[X] Toward the moonlit peak and its unseen players, calling her to join the serenade.

Mechanically the wind choice is probably best, but in terms of spiritual experiences and emotional connections it's music by a mile (tutoring, mom's flute, mom, Zeqing).

Also, no ??? bonus this time, unless I missed it.

I think the reason why the Puzzlebox didn't get much progress is because it was tied with another minor. yrsillar did mention that tying two minors to a single major would result in less time devoted to both.

Need I remind anyone that best turtle is wood element?

I'd argue that all of those are things she does.

Wind is the thing she is. The desire for freedom reflects in each and everyone of her actions.

Wind is "d) All of the above".

Freedom is a paradox. The more people you are attached to, the more restrictions you have on your actions to maintain those attachments, but those attachments can also give you power, freeing you to do things you couldn't have before.

Ling Qi seeks freedom through strength, rather than freedom through a lack of attachments. It's a bit Sith-y, but it works.

What supports that notion? Keeping in mind that the Sky option is not just wind, per WoG
Hmm, maybe heaven/wind/thunder because they all fall under heaven. Note though she wants to be "unfettered", in her previous breakthrough she noted that her friends and obligations where roots and chains binding her down. If you want to be not bound by anything then you have to discard everything also.

Wind is "d) All of the above".
Fuck no it isn't, and do not go trying to lie about it to get votes.

Ling Qi is a greedy girl. I believe she would want it all. She's been working hard and starving for freedom since she was small, and I believe she should keep striving for it. It's admirable.
