Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

If Zhengui survives long enough he is going to become big.

And he's a Wood Aspected Xuanwu in the emerald seas.

Like, he's going to basically be just short of invincible once he reaches maturity here. We're literally surrounded in one of his primary elements, and the other feeds off of large sources of the fuel that he has access to.

He shouldn't be any less dominant than the northern Xuanwu are in their homelands.

Let's see...besides the explicit animals (Serpent, Owl, Serpent Tortoise, Monkey, Scorpion), who's what?

Horned Lord, probably a stag. Purifying Sun...probably a Phoenix to match the Dragon, especially since it's a her. Sea Folk demon, probably an octopus or squid. Grandfather of Tides, unclear but maybe a fish of some sort?

Hmm, our Emerald Sea province used to have a 'Horned Lord' as the Sublime Ancestor... Could be the standard Green Man archetype, maybe mixed with some kind of stag, because the other Ancestors are animal-based (excepting the Purifying Sun), and Emerald Sea suggests forested areas...

The scholar is clearly biased to Mu, but doesn't seem to be smearing the others, so the descriptions are probably reliable.

He is definitely smearing older dynasties. Horned Lord probably are from a fallen dynasty. I had assumed they were Hui ancestor, but it wouldn't have been so easy for them to fall if they had a sublime ancestor.

Let's not be too arrogant there. There are plenty of top end spirit beasts that never get past Indigo, let alone violet. I think we can do right by Zhengui, but assuming he can get to White is a bit much.

The Hui fell because they got decadent and lazy--the Horned Lord withdrawing his protection due to this and it leading to their fall at the next crisis makes perfect sense.

But anyway, regardless, Zhengui is our buddy and we're raising him from the egg. I don't think he'll have issue keeping pace with us at least.

The last of the active ancestors belongs, of course, to the illustrious and virtuous Mu Clan, of the Third and greatest dynasty. The Herald of Endings takes the form of a vast, white owl, whose wings cover the sky, and whose shadow lays bare the sins of the wicked. Her perch lies at the mist shrouded peak of mount Tai. In the wake the terrible invasion of the southern barbarians, then Prince An sought wisdom from his Ancestor in bolstering those parts of the realm which had begun to fail.
As the only mysterious winged ancestor/person I've heard about, I am immediately latching onto this as a possible source of Ling Qi's secret wind stuff we haven't really uncovered much of. I note that the owl also appears to be both Wind and Darkness related.

I personally believe that, if having all 4 argent art give a breakthrough bonus, it will be a breakthrough bonus that applies to argent arts (say, +1 Qi reduction when using Argent Element). Not something I consider actually good for us, even though it would be powerful.
Yes, if that happens we will be SOL. I'm hoping we get something more useful, but I admit that may be too optimistic.

Ling Qi is a Mu bastard child, spread the word, start the rumor mill!

Is the horned lord some kind of stag?
Some kind of Animals of farthing wood style white stag?

Ok, I get that many people like the Ma sisters and find themselves cute or something. I disagree, but can understand that rationale.

But even if you like them, please don't clog our precious action slots with even more social links. These two are useless- Ling Qi can't take them on stealth missions, their combat styles, other than music, are largely incompatible with Ling Qi's, they'd last all of a round against a serious opponent with a serious attack ability, they have approximately zero chance of making the Inner Sect, and it would take an inordinate amount of effort to improve any of those things more than just marginally.

We have enough trouble fitting in Suyin and Su Ling as it is, and they have a good ( or at least nonzero) chance of making the Inner Sect on the production track, and they were Ling Qi's friends before she got big.

The Ma sisters are hired help, and not even hired by us. They should be low on our priority list.

But they're good for getting used to dealing with and being liked by hired help. We are going to be a noble. We're going to eventually be a pretty high ranked one.
