What resources? You think she's going to take a whole posse of minions just to track down one Ling Qi? You think her cultivation or talisman resources are remotely dependent on her group? Wiping out every one of her followers won't do a thing to weaken her personally.
Also, @mc2rpg Ling Qi is taking great effort not to be tracked and I kind of doubt Liling is going to personally track us down right now. If she actually puts in effort to track us down and maim us, I sincerely doubt she will attack us while we're in the midst of our allies vs when we're, for example, going alone to the forest.
I think she needs minions to tie up our minions to keep numbers from destroying any large scale actions she tries. There is a reason her second big attempt involved her own troops all over the place, because if she didn't have those it would be her named characters against Cai's AND a bunch of backup enforces. Reducing what she can bring to bear and thus making her more easily ganged up on is good for us. We aren't bystanders in this conflict anymore, we have personal stakes in it and a very angry enemy that I would prefer being weaker rather than stronger. If we can chip pieces off her organization and hang out with a future important co-worker all for one minor then I definitely think it is worth doing.

But yeah, accompanying Gan Guangli's strike team gives us a chance to reduce Sun Liling's manpower, and if she gets baited out into an attack? I'm pretty sure reinforcements will be pending.
Consider as well, we know he was working on his breakthrough. What if he's succeeded, and that's why he's gotten bold?

Ok, let's talk wolves. Because I don't know if people have really grasped what we can do to the dice.
The Hungry Giant had ~20 defense dice without using arts. 22 attack with tech. Fairly tanky with 13 health and 2 natural armor. Early Bronze. Note that Chu Song also only had 20 dice without using techs.
Looking back to Serpent's Treasure, the Mountainroot Bats had 10 dice at low yellow. The Elder (mid yellow) had 13 dice using its tech. These were being boosted by another Elder (Ebon Quickening).
tldr; Spirit beast dice are not fantastic.
Now, what do we do in our opening? Assume we open at long range (60-80m) with FVM, doing Diapason + Dissonance. Assuming they all hit (and with our higher dice and autos against most of the wolves, they will), that's -12 (-4 diapason, -2 dissonance, -6 multi-attack) to their defense. (double check: @yrsillar, diapason and dissonance both count as attacks, right?)
So, most of the wolves now have essentially no defense. Xiulan, otoh, probably has ~30 dice on AoE (we have 23 on Meteoric Shower, and if she isn't better than us then it would be pathetic and I would lose respect for her). In other words? She's hitting her damage cap, whatever it is. She should realistically expect ~10 successes + autos over the wolves. And it seems very unlikely here that the mid-yellow wolves have more than 10 health. Qi-wise, probably 20? Maybe a bit more? 30 would be high. Anyway, if Xiulan hits them, they suffer.
Now add in the fact that, with kiting and Elegy stun, the earliest they could realistically attack us would be round 3. Which means they've taken 3 ticks of dissonance, and 2 of elegy... which is -12 qi. Which is probably quite a lot for them. Basically, by the time they reach us Xiulan can probably blow up a lot of them.
What about the Alpha? Well, again, he probably has ~20 defense. Which means that, after our opening, he's at somewhere around ~8-14 defense. Against Xiulan's 30+
She can totally hit her damage cap against him too.
So, we go Diapason + Mist first turn, they have to sprint for us. Xiulan drops aoe if possible, and if they're too spread out just snipes the Alpha for maximum damage.
Turn 2: they'll have clumped up now, since sprinting would have gotten them close to us. This means good AoE for Xiulan. We stun the mooks with Elegy, and refresh HRA. Tank the Alpha no problem.
Turn 3: We switch to bow, and shoot Alpha with AtW, putting them all at -6 for attack, and thus probably single digits. Xiulan drops a second AoE, and at this point half of them are probably dead, and possibly the Alpha as well (~2 AoE's + an arrow from us? + maybe a lightning bolt? Yeah.). The survivors can attack us.
Turn 4: mop up

I honestly think that was a misstep for her. Sending her minions to cause chaos while she personally ganked us I mean. The only reason Fu Xiang knew we were in trouble was because Liling's people were causing a ruckus. If Sun came to gank us without her people doing anything suspicious, we'd have been long crippled before any reinforcements could have come for us.
So yeah, maybe she needs minions for large scale actions. But we don't particularly care about large scale actions because large scale actions aren't that meaningful for settling this conflict, but personal ganking is still personal ganking and hence very relevant to us.
First, Fu Xiang didn't indicate that it was urgent, and logically, the longer we wait the more they'll be set back.
Second, I have a cunning plan. We do it Week 38, after our full breakthrough week. Hopefully we'll have green down, and will probably still be working on bronze. We'll have some actions free, so what we do is we make everyone think that we're still holed up in our room working on our breakthrough... But early in the week we sneak out one night and sabotage them. That way, when we get out and publicly show off our breakthrough we can be all "I don't know anything about that - I was breaking through", and everyone else will be "well, she managed to hit green already, she can't have had any time to do anything else".
Boom. Instant alibi. Cunning like a fox.

But, it is the next best option. I definitely prefer doing the twins now to Gan. We've done more than enough for Team Cai. Time for the others to pull their weight

More seriously, we'll have plenty of Gan and missions like this when/if we swear to Cai after getting Green. In the mean time, better for us to lay low for a few weeks and let others draw attention until we get breakthrough done. Right now we're getting our minions set up. This is a good foundational action that gets our new minions introduced to our old minions, and helps get things established nicely to work well going forward.
Also, our new minions are super adorable and could even give us a new music buddy!

Ah well, I guess I should accept Lan Lan's not going to happen this week and switch my vote. No plan has the Xiulan minor, too, so that means there isn't a clear winner...
PS's plan has too high odds of not getting AE2 before breakthrough for me.... anti-raider plan would provide another nice fight which would help our skills, and emerald sea plan would try to merge our groups more.
I...guess I am still feeling sad about not going further trying to merge GF and SuSu group, so Emerald Sea it is.
