We could fake Ahsoka's death, keep her on permanently as a liaison between us and the Jedi. Like Dara was supposed to be.

i wonder just how many disposable force users palps has right now. if we keep doing this to all of his dark side dudes, will he run out of them?

[X] Get legal with this and have Thrawn formally defend her in a trial. It doesn't matter who or what Thrawn's up against, he can tear apart the prosecution's argument, and he's disturbingly eager to do it.

Fair to assume he has as many as the plot demands, which, if our encounters with them go like the one with our Walkers did...will end up needing to be a bunch.

Presumably Riphath was keeping the fact that his Wan-shen can actually resist a lightsaber blade in his back pocket in case a sudden block would be advantageous.

...Yes. That's exactly right, and I most certainly did not forget to check that detail, and the collapsible shaft was definitely something I checked up on before. Yeeessss sir.

(Though even then I'm not changing a detail because a fakeout like that is a good fighting strategy anyway.)

It is. Very "I Am Not Left-Handed".

I should probably vote:
[X] Work with Ahsoka to try and draw out the bomber. Meanwhile, have Thrawn prepare his legal case. Risky, but could gather additional evidence to prove her innocence.
-[X] Regardless of success, Ahsoka's defense will be prepared in the meantime. Better to have every angle covered.

[X] Inform the Sentinels that Dark Jedi were encountered in the underworld during our search for Ashoka. Due to this Ashoka's trail was lost so we're still searching. Ask them to interview all of Ashoka's acquaintances and allow us to witness the interviews and make suggestions for questions during them (allowing Ashoka to listen in remotely). Also ask them to look into the Dark Jedi issue within the Order's ranks. State our suspicions that there was likely more than one individual in on it and that if it was actually a Jedi who did it then they might have had more inside help than just unwitting protesters and the maintenance victim.

Hunt down the bomber to see if we can collect an actual perp for Republic Mob Justice.

Prepare Ahsoka's defense...because Thrawn, Ace Attorney needs to happen.

Telling the Sentinels that there's Dark Jedi gives them something to work on without potentially blowing her cover.

Working with the Sentinels to start poking around within the Jedi to collect testimony would be good. For that matter we should ensure we get Obi-Wan to be able to call as an expert witness on the Force, seeing as he's a Jedi's Jedi, the current master of a classical Jedi skill which matches their philosophy to a T.

I don't always vote, but when I vote then its for getting Thrawn to go full Phoenix Wright on Tarkin and co. My god, that thought is amusing.

. Technically there was also a Dooku doppelganger but that was silly and we don't talk about it.
Dooku has a DoomBot?
I'm okay with the

vote but I'd just like to test the waters for a more aggressive suggestion.
-[ ] Send Thrawn out to delay, distract and discredit Tarkin. Ahsoka left because she clearly wasn't getting fair representation under the GAR, she'll come in for trial, but a Jedi trial not the GAR. Bring up the fact that Tarkins well documented human supremist leaning mean that he's inappropriate to be involved in the proceedings.

Any other ideas to delay for our investigation.

Dooku has a DoomBot?
Either a clone, a clone created by the Force, or some kind of Force projection from across the galaxy. Turns out GBA games don't give a damn about continuity and trying to reconcile Anakin killing Dooku on Metlorn with canon requires some hoop jumping.

Doppelgänger of Dooku

Also, I've been agonizing over how to work in a character wacky enough to justify being an Ace Attorney witness, and I've finally figured out how I'm going to do it. Sadly, by the time finals are over and I have time to write ten pages of stuff because I want to, it'll hardly be relevant. But Thrawn needs a Force user to take the fall who either did it or can be tricked into thinking they did it. I can think of only one person who fits that criteria.

Hang on. If Dooku can create a living doppelganger with the force...
He was Plageous all along!

something sad.... but inspirational:

Since this is a "military trial" overseen by the "highest ranked" individual Chancellor Palpatine.... well Thrawn can go all the way and partially force Paplatine in corner: °weather he continues his charade, shames Tarkin and proclaims Ahsoka innocent in such way that the public decreases their "jedi are bad"; °or admits of being power-hungry, corrupt xenophobe PUBLICLY, outright saying that he is NOT WORTH BEING IN COMAND!

Just a heads-up we have to make sure that:
— Jedi Order does NOT denounce Ahsoka and "throw her to the wolves" as they did in canon
(major Dark Side points to the Order: dick move guys)

— there are NO DISCREPANCIES of what we'll say Sentinels and how our actions "deceive them" (we say we lost Ahsoka and in next moment they see us walking with Ahsoka to trail.... stupid).

Next moment? Uhhhh ... no? I would assume that getting enough evidence and doing those interviews would be more than enough time. And if we can't get anything else then we say, "Found her. Still suspicious of her supposed guilt so we've decided to provide her defense as well."

We're deceiving the Sentinels sure but it's an easily swept aside deception.

Future conversation
Sentinel: "When were you going to tell us you found Ahsoka?"
Ciaran: "But we did? We said we found her and we've brought her here for trial just afterwards."

P.S. I didn't realize I misspelled Ahsoka in the write-in ...

Catching the bomber is irrelevant next to burning Tarkin so bad he'll never have a deathstar to play with. Strike hard and strike fast. Don't give him an opportunity to deflect blame.

When we eventually get to the court room I can't wait to see Ace Attorney Thrawn. Wait have we just found an additional way to increase public education opinion of ourself? Doing cases probono for ever?

ace attorney thrawn shall make all rue the day that they broke the law!........well, as long as your not a abyss watcher that is.

I realize that the Thrawn as Ace Attorney train will win, but I am concerned with giving Thrawn such a public role and putting him in a place so vulnerable to Palpatine's power at this early stage.

Of course I doubt Dr. Snark would be as evil as I would be in this story arc, so the temple bombing plot probably hasn't been re-written to be a trap for Ciaran, but my instincts keep saying "he's got to start effectively opposing Ciaran SOME time!"

Just a heads-up we have to make sure that:

Why does Ciaran profit from saving the Jedi from their own stupidity in this case?

fasquardon

In all sincerity a lot of Ciaran's reason for interfering is "because my Shatterpoint senses told me this would be important and they've been accurate every other time."

Not to mention that at this point there's the chance of taking down Sora Bulq.

Seems legit. I'm going to leave the vote open for another 12 hours or so before I call it since it's a closer and important vote.

My one concern, and the reason I haven't voted yet, is... how would lying to the Jedi Sentinels affect our relations with them? Would they be understanding -- that we couldn't tell them we had Ahsoka because we weren't sure if they'd be obliged to report that back to the Grand Council and/or the GAR -- or would they be affected by our lack of trust in them? (I like that default bonus and don't want to lose it again, especially just after getting it back...)

I know. I kept on switching back and forth because of that one issue.
I think it would be better if we were upfront with the Sentinels about this issue because they have done stuff with discretion in the past.
