Sorry, I meant it for an hypothetical plan that was trying to get AE3 and thus was doing both AE training and AE mission successes. I might have gotten my wires crossed.
and yes, I consider FSA week 35 being a gamble. We have something like 50% chances to get it there, though we can boost that if the TRF tutor is TRF/FSA. I am not sure that's what we want.
Physical might not need training at all without putting a mission success there, actually.
Getting FZ with 3 missions is possible but doesn't give a meridian in bonus if it works, and has risk of not working. Doing 2 FZ missions + 1 training means that even if we get bad rolls for missions we still get FZ5 (not the case with 3 missions) and if we don't get bad rolls we can get a meridian overflow.
This is Gu Xiulan we are talking about, she probably acted horribly to her room mate. In her interlude she commented on that she found it strange that she even became close to another girl. In truth Xiulan is a huge b*tch to anyone not Ling Qi or Han Jian.Rereading some of the early posts, I see that Xiulan does actually have a room mate but she is never shown and Xiulan does not appear to care about her at all. Odd that.
Xiulan can be grating even towards her friends. I'm sure that they both made terrible impressions of each other on the first day that they met, but both are too stubborn to simply move out, as that would display weakness. The roommate probably doesn't want to curry favor with Xiulan's friends either because of a mindset where "anybody who can be friends with her must be crazy, and I don't want to be friends with crazy."Rereading some of the early posts, I see that Xiulan does actually have a room mate but she is never shown and Xiulan does not appear to care about her at all. The bit about the meridian was, from my understanding, "you need to gamble the overflow, with normal meridian failure consequences". @yrsillar probably will OK/No it by the time we make plans though.Yrs... said that he wasn't going to be doing the meridian in bonuses very much anymore. We can not rely on that as a method by which to get meridians.
If I am doing my math right, then we would need 55 points of overflow into physical to get us at about 50/50 odds of getting physical without a mission. I don't think that is happening, and planning on placing a 30 point EPC bonus there makes it much more likely (especially from overflow by training FZ).
I'm seeing that we are at 43/180, and that we can get about 95/100 from 2 highsun pills. It would be great if we don't have to place an action or EPC mission success into physical to get it, but I am not as confident as you are about that.As for physical, we are currently at 53/180, and can get around 100 successes from the 2 highsun. This means we just need another 27 or so overflow, which I am confident we can get, either through FZ or meridians or some other things.
Which reminds me I should precise physical overflow in my plan.
Unless AS demands 10 more successes than AM/AC for the second layer, we are at 53/180. We also have 88 dice for the highsun pills, so 166, which is around 100 successes.I'm seeing that we are at 43/180, and that we can get about 95/100 from 2 highsun pills. It would be great if we don't have to place an action or EPC mission success into physical to get it, but I am not as confident as you are about that.
What Ling Qi doesn't do is almost as important as what Ling Qi does do.
Remember the field trip where we fought the Crow Tribe shaman? Ling Qi was given multiple opportunities to interact with mortals or at least red-level guardsmen. The thread ended up not voting for them.
Whether or not that was the correct choice given the constraints and available knowledge is a topic for a different time. However, it is an incontestable fact that post-mission, Su Ling took note of the fact that Ling Qi did not really pay attention to the general plight of mortals or red-level cultivators. This was not what the thread had intended with the votes, but it was a logical extrapolation: she didn't think they mattered or could help and has thus a somewhat hands-off relationship with mortals in general.
This is the first time Ling Qi's has had actual minions assigned to her. What we do here matters in more ways than just 'oh, it's another social commitment in an already overstuffed social calendar': it represents, to some extent, how Ling Qi instinctively treats her underlings. Does she think they are useless? Does she care about what they might bring to the table? Does she think they are worth talking to at all during an entire week where they're following her around bodyguarding her?
I said I wouldn't advocate for X position, but as time sensitive minors go, this one is up there when it comes to shaping Ling Qi's character.
Because, well, try to imagine being assigned bodyguards - and then further imagine what kind of person it'd take to not interact with them past the bare minimum - and then apply those traits to Ling Qi because it's effectively what you're voting for. Li Suyin's a good friend, those formations are awesome, but as these things go, it can wait.
Edit: I should clarify: it's not 'wrong' not to vote for it. Ling Qi being an insular, extremely private person is fine. It's a perfectly legitimate vote and feel free to argue that that is the direction you think is most in-line with Ling Qi's character and where you want her character to grow. But if you think that the minor was thoughtlessly included, well, it wasn't.![]()
With three Argent arts active, Ling Qi felt slightly strange, like she was on the verge of something.
No the Highsun is better used on the next 3 meridians we need to open.Shouldn't we be using a Highsun pill here? I'm not certain we're going to have another big Meridian Week at this rate.
Another option:I dunno, I'd prefer something like this:
Hidden Glacier Art
Attributes: Wind, Water, Yin
Meridians: Spine, Spine
By channeling both the sheer power of the mighty glaciers which exist to the north of Savage Seas, and the depths that those same glaciers conceal, the user concentrates and enhances their spiritual attacks, whilst concealing their true power.
Right, so I said 7 hours ago that if no one expressed distate for it I would add that in my plan. No one has, so I'll add it. If anyone dislikes it, please poke.@Arkeus @Thor's Twin Tagging you because your plans are leading, but this is to all plan makers:
Would you consider adding a question to Meizhen about any wood sites she's stumbled on?
Wind Techniques require ten fewer successes after initial mastery
AM and AC also needed 20 for first level and 30 for second level, why is Wind element AS, who should benefit from the above, needing 30 successes instead of 20 for the second level ?
Won't the second highsun pill cover us for the rest of the pre-breakthrough meridians? I didn't think we needed that many.I switched the spine/arm places in my plan, so that arm is the one we train with SuSu and spine alone, hoping we get a bonus from both minion for spine and for the close failure. We don't know if "close failure give a bonus" is still something @yrsillar is planning, but just in case.
Also, the odds of failing a meridian are annoyingly high (20%?) without highsun, so I'd like feedback on whether people think we should use it. Using a highsun now means it's actually much harder to get everything equipped before breakthrough, as we'd need highsun for harder DC meridian much more than for those ones.
IIRC arts for tutoring need to have common element or meridian.
TRF can be trained with AC, AS, FZ
FSA can be trained with FZ, AC, AS
