Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Back at the fort, when I was still worried about pursuit, I thought that one of our possible escape routes might be " lead them up onto the frozen peak, play your music and let them wander alone in the snowfields until they freeze."

We learned to use FVM to push back Zeqing's snow, I wonder if we could do the reverse, summoning that same icy isolation.
Actually, I'll just ask:
@yrsillar
Does Ling Qi think that is even an option?
No Ling Qi can't summon snowstorms at the moment, though I suppose if you caught someone in despair during an actual snowstorm it would kinda replicate it.

So, options that we have: Fight, run towards the mountain (for powerful spirit help?), run back to allies.

First off fighting. It is possible for us to fight her. FVM is an extremely potent debuffer, and we have other options to debuff a target, but there is a singular problem with that. It requires us to hit her. We might be able to do that, but I wouldn't count on it. And if we can't count on FVM hitting, then we are not going to be winning this fight. Her spiritual defenses are probably good enough to block being hit by diaspoan, and there is no way to make sure right now without actually fighting.

Running towards the mountain is a risk, as there is no guarantee that Zeqing will help us or that she will be pleased we relied on her to help us. Her morality and goals are skewed from a normal person and we just don't know enough about her to make a good judgment.

Running back towards allies has the same problems as Ling Qi mentioned. Sun almost certainly has countermeasures in place to stop us from doing that. She knows a lot about us and most certainly has the stuff ready to stop us from running back towards allies.

All in all, I don't think that there are any good choices to be made.

Seriously, people actually expect we stand a chance against her? Ling Qi is much better than she was before but she's bound to have improved a lot as well. We don't have a good offensive art to attack her with, there's no way we can penetrate her defense.

There's absolutely no way we'll win this one, and losing is going to set us back *hard*. We're a major asset of Sun Liling's primary foe, and she wants to make us not that thing. She'll want to take the dress, certainly. She might decide to take everything. Standing and fighting is a terrible idea.

What? No way. We fight her a while, she can aoe the fuck out of us and snare us and probably injure us. We wanna run, best to run from the start. We can't beat her, and when we lose, she'll take our dress.
Fighting involves throwing up mist and then flitting around in the mist seeing if any of our attacks work. Unless Sun Liling straight up no sells everything it's good preparation for running away. If she can straight up no sell everything then we're screwed anyways.

I actually don't think there's a social problem with leading her to Zeqing. We know Zeqing likes us and doesn't like Liling, and this fight was started by Liling cutting us off on the way to visit Zeqing. I just don't think trying to run around Liling and lead her on a long chase uphill without FVM going will work very well.

So the thing is Sun's arts are Qi expensive. This is mitigated by her art that let's her regin Qi. Since that art caused her to be suspended I think we can assume that she has been forbidden from using that art.

That means if we take the fight from a Qi drain angle we have a shot.

Since she is green and a stated hunter we have to assume she has speed arts. Really there are no good options here.

I am not going to stay and let her take our clothes.
And since she can fly we need help and now...

I don't care if we end up indepted to Zeqing.

Those aren't relevant anymore on either side, and are going to make us have too many assumptions. Ling Qi currently would have 31 defence dice on the first attack, and 28 on the second... but she probably has at least +10 dice.
It's almost like a person could use those to extrapolate to her current abilities. Like saying that she probably has 10+ dice over what we saw there...

I think yrs already confirmed that Ling Qi's first step in running away is to throw the mist up anyway. We can flit around trying to plink attacks on her, or, we can use the momentary distraction of her effortlessly dispelling our mist to get some distance and run.

Given Zeqing's nature, and what she thinks of as "help", it's entirely possible that if we lead Sun Liling there, she'll tell us to fight it out (because danger=growth) and throw some environmental help our way while we do (because she hates Sun Liling).

The real problem is that we can't beat her and her spirit, and she's already pointed out that the whole point right now is to remove us from being an issue--and that she has zero qualms about punching down as long as the target is annoying enough, so she's got no issues with ganging up on us. I suspect her crazy blood ghost spirit is ready to intercept us if we bolt.

"She gets nasty when she's losing" indeed.

Another problem with going up is the potential for Hanyi to get hurt, which would be bad for everyone.

Pretty sure Zeqing doesn't really have an opinion on any of the other cultivators in our year, barring Meizhen because we showed her the pool.
She *might* be annoyed if she sees this as us dragging her into Outer Sect business though.

Sun Liling would not be here unless she expected to win. And we saw in the council fight she's not above preparing the ground first.

EDIT:
Plus, she has her spirit and we don't.

Zeqing likes us, and she's possesive. Let's use that.
We are fast, stealthy and at least a little bit familiar with the terrain. Let's see if she can catch us.

The problem with that is any extrapolation would be done on the basis of 'pure guesses'. Sometimes half-info is worse than no info.

Yeah, she already admitted that "Yeah, I'm basically here to fuck your face and I specced towards hunting right now", running away or bolting are things she's both prepped for.

We need to stand our ground and be enough of an annoyance that we can actually make a run for it.

We're already mostly in Zeqing's territory right now, once we start playing, there's a good chance she'll notice anyway. But it means we don't get shot in the back for someone who already admitted that she's specced for chase and tracking.
