Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I have a potentially stupid question - we are voting for to:

Why do we do it?

I understand that only one cost reduction may apply, but Armsguard are lether bracers. Blizzard Pin is hairpin. They do not take the same slot. One gives bonus dice to offence and another to defence. Why can't they both be equipped at the same time?

No, we can't. We can have to accessories equipped. One Weapon equipped. One armor equipped.

In game terms, we can't have both of them "in use" simultaneously. In-setting... I don't know. Maybe extra talismans interfere with each other somehow?

Point is, we certainly can't use them at the same time, period. We might be able to physically have them on us at the same time, but if so one would have to be inert all the time. Though that brings up interesting questions about how fast we can change which talisman we are using at the time...

[X] Find a new path down
[X] Switch the Armsguard for the Blizzard Pin.

Previously I voted for the tunnel route when we were ascending, but thinking on it more I'm going to vote to avoid fights with other cultivators until we can get some actually damaging combat arts.

Arm/Arm is probably one of the better options, though what I want is basically to try and get as many choices as possible and see what tempts us there.
Yeah I would definitely like Arm/any rather than just arm/spine. That way we can get a few different water/wind arm arts.

Hmm. I've made the different versions of armguard count together through manage votes. That's a really powerful tool, though you have to be careful how you use it.

edit:

Incidentally, you can see how I did it by clicking the I at the top corner of the Tally. Which is something we need to watch out for now. It helps because it lets us unfragment votes, but I'm pretty sure someone's going to attach something to the wrong vote and get them tallied together.

Not out of cheating or malice or something. Just doing it fast and not paying enough attention.

@yrsillar could we bargain with the snow spirit to trade babysitting for lessons on tactics to use with our fighting style? It seems like she uses high mobility plus confusion too so she should have some advice for us. And maybe music lessons as well?

It's also possible snowmom is referring to the Expression skill rather than the FVM Art when she says to come back when our melody has matured.
We haven't even exceed mortal limits with it yet.

Yea I wanna go meet with them again too, especially Hanyi since it seems that theres a not insignificant chance we could get her as a spirit if we crank up the family social link, but theres no reason to do it before we either
- increase our skill with the relevant cultivation arts
- are going for the next moon fill

Twice a month would be nice, just sparse enough to not feel like an action burden and regular enough to make Hanyi look forward to our arrival.

This is still just a whim, so I haven't given it a lot of deep thought. Just seems like a nice way for Ling Qi to get away from the politics for a while (at least, the obvious yearmate politics).

I can easily see Hanyi sitting on Ling Qi's shoulders and ordering her around like a horsey retainer.

Mostly this will involve dragging Ling Qi here and there to clear out nests of low-grade spirit beasts. After a while, Hanyi will become very fat and Ling Qi very rich. :V

Next time we do that, though, can we actually budget the afternoon for this instead of needing to rush? It might take a minor action or something, but that is the way these things are supposed to work, right?
I mean, Ling Qi allowed multiple extra hours beyond her expected travel time. Hanyi was also a pretty time-consuming detour, in comparison to, say, an actual fight.

Sorry, what? Ling Qi obviously had enough time to deal with Hanyi. She made it to the top before midnight. Am I missing something?
Well, it worked out this time, but if "mama" hadn't cleared the path for us or if we'd rolled lower in the game of tag and taken longer to finish, we may not have made it. If you recall, the main concern with taking the Tag option in the last update was that it could hold us up long enough to fail the mission.

Point being - if we are going to take the same route again with the expectation of encountering Hanyi, I hope to budget more time so we don't have to take the risk the way we did last update.
