This seems exciting like an exciting quest.

Grid Frostdottir

Appearance: A 16 year old young woman with blond hair and striking Amethyst eyes . Quite tall for her age and her reaches all the way to her waist. Her build is quite lean as she hasn't experienced any physical labor.

Backstory: The middle child of three and the first and only daughter. Grid assisted her mother in all womanly tasks like sewing and cooking. She often enjoyed playing with snow during winter, which lead her to develop an Ice Kunna. In the panic she was seperated from her mother, father, and older brother and now has to take care of her 8-year old brother called Vlos Frostson.

Personality: Grid dislikes any physical tasks becuases you often get dirty from doing them from sweat and dirt. She enjoys talking with others and was quite well connected with the other villagers. Her father had a thrall that was literate and she learned the Norse language from him. She is quite diligent with her tasks, when she is given one she will complete it to the best of her ability. She can be quite arrogant though about the skills that she is proficient in, and will assume that she is better than others in that regard.

High-Concept: I want her to become an ice mage that rules over others.

PT Spending: 1 PT for Ice Kunna, 1 PT for Beauty, 1 PT for Literate

Having non-combat skills is generally good, but making shields and carving runes on them don't require woodworking as a PT investment...the Norse are all skilled in basic stuff you need to survive as an independent farm, which includes making things out of wood, and you took the literacy/runecrafting skill so you're good there.

You'd, of course, make better shields more easily with woodworking, but it's not absolutely required.
Speaking of runes, I will have to invest a PT to it right as a separate thing? At least I assume it's a thing different thing since just being Literature doesn't mean knowing/being adept at Runescribing. @_@;

Will likely still get woodcrafting since better shields seems nice. Will get a PT in Logging(?) or Tree cutting help with getting more wood somehow?

Literacy and runecrafting are the same thing. The runes which are magical are literally just the written form of Norse, and when you write that something happens and power them up (by filling the carvings with pigment, such as blood), the thing you wrote happens (assuming whatever you're powering the runes with is strong enough). It's really straightforward.

Logging would probably let us clear land faster, but I don't think we're short on wood, so it probably isn't needed for woodcrafts in general.

Oh really, then i'll change it too Literate.

Why was speech kunna banned?

I believe it was determined to not actually do anything mundane social skills would not.

Runes in Norsequest is literally just the language of the Norse, carving them on an object and filling it with stuff like paint or blood powers it.

Right

So, for everyone who is working on houses, you've managed to get some Tier 1 Houses up at the main settlement. These aren't especially pretty, but they'll keep rain off your heads, wind off your backs, and your food--and children!--from being nabbed by the pesky wildlife.

Unfortunately, one of the ships--which had already been damaged on the way over--was irreparably damaged during the construction period by rot. Salvaging it will leave you with sailcloth, quality nails, and potentially some quality wood, though it will require an action to dismantle properly.

Regardless, much praise is levied on the shoulders of those who built shelter, giving each house-builder +1 Ordstirr
Does Erik count as having spent one action, or two? He started out building lean-tos, but the collective effort seems to have gotten us something better than that, I gather. That Carpentry kenna is paying off, though! :)

Moli Spotlight brings together anyone who would listen to him.

"My raven has brought me a vision. I saw an army on the march, clicking and clacking as they went. From the reports of those who went East, I believe the crab-people are on the march. Possibly to our new home here." Moli Spotlight spoke.
"Well, crap."

I'll count it as two and, in honor of your efforts and skill, you gain +3 Ordstirr rather than the +1 everyone else got

There aren't any scouting parties at the moment, as the ones that were assembled have already completed. However, you could go off on a solo scout if you so desired

I'd recommend doing something only you can do, like making an Ice cellar for cold storage. I am unsure if we have Meat Sticks (preserving runes)

Alright, I reckon I'm going to call the season in 30 minutes. If I have missed you or you have not yet done an action, poke me about it.

That's fine, hopefully I don't die on turn 1

[X] Gudsrun ???sdottir's Action
-[X] (Summer of Action) Scout around the Settlement's boundaries in search of strange locations or oddities. (Try to look for 'places of spiritual significance' due to the Seeress's request?)
Though you don't find much in the way of spiritual significance, you do find—thanks to your boar fylgja sniffing them out—what appears to be a bunch of truffles! More food for the settlement

That is, of course, if they're edible

I only just found out this was a thing. I hope it isn't too late to join in?

Try to gather half of them and leave the other half down there so that it continues to grow and mark it for later? Probably check to see if they're edible or not via eating one after some brushing of the dirt? Regrets may be had but since they're called truffles then surely they're edible! If no complications then make sure to report back another potential source of food for the settlement? They're not magical or something on Gudrun's Seeing Eyes right?

Might want to take a PT in Bushwhackery later...

They taste... oddly sweet, almost buttery.

Other than that, you don't notice anything off as you return to the camp, truffles in hand.

Your seeing eyes reveal nothing beyond the norm, but good on you for asking.

+1 Ordstirr for bringing back a new type of food

Huh, neat! Wonder if our chefs/cooks can make them into some sort of butter?

And ooh, Ordstirr!.. I gotta check the info post about that again. @_@;
