"Any possible use we might have gotten out of them is pointless since you brought back the two locals [and I learned how Kunna actually worked OOCly], a proper burial is for the best."

"Good" Rikard nods curtly, squinting one more time, bringing up two fingers, and pointing at his own two eyes, before shifting his hand the opposite way to point at the skull before stepping away. "Put it in a barrow and let it trouble us none, we've got enough problems without including the restless dead to the list."

Can I ask Galti for the sailcloth? With Void Eagle wandering about, the kids need some protection.

@I.F. Ister I mentioned warding on clothes but how far can I take that and what sort of things would be useful to a Viking? (I.E. would a cooling charm be unnecessary or should it focus more on strengthening the material etc?)

You can take it pretty damn far, though you should be careful because going too far all at once can and will obliterate your soul—effectively, anyways.

Anything that's self-repairing is extremely valuable, though you may want to be careful as that could put you and any other clothing-makers out of a business.

[X] Njal Ulfson will make a small grave barrow for the recovered skeleton.
[X] Galti Hanison will help Njal Ulfson with the barrow building.
[X] Ragnarr Fair-Spoken will join those two in skeleton disposal.

Carrying the skeletal remains across to the designated burial grounds—and out of the way spot Njal knows about—Galti, Njal, and Ragnar set the body down to start digging the hole, only to look up just in time to catch the skeleton reassembling itself.

It looks at you. You look at it.

It pivots on the spot and starts sprinting into the treeline, in the direction of the cave, click-clacking all the way.

Do you follow?

[x] Liv organizes the construction of a stone building, intended firstly as a safe storeroom forfoodstuff etc. She'll use her kunna and Demolition knowledge to help with the procurment of suitable stones.

Also, I'm note sure how many Ord I have now, but if I have enough I'd like to buy Clearwater 2.

Ragnarr blinks and then shrugs. "Well, at least it's gone?" He won't chase it unless other people do, and would suggest they not.

"We should at least follow it to see if it's reporting back to anything that might compromise the safety of the camp. One of us should stay here however to tell the rest of us where we have gone in case it is a danger."

"I can go back and tell people if you really want to go. I'm not well suited to fighting things without emotions."

It seems like two of our problems, namely insufficient food and aggressive crabs can be felled in one blow. If we launch an expedition to hunt the crabs this winter we will get food and neutralize their threat.

I think I'd much rather fight the crabs where we have fortifications than where they do. Also, relevantly, we don't know they're attacking us, so I'd rather not attack them and provoke conflict that would not otherwise occur. Let's avoid self-fulfilling prophecies.

Erm, so doing this again!

Gudsrun ???sdottir

1 PT to Shield
1 PT to being Literate?
1 PT to having Seeing Eyes? (Boar Spirit/Soul?)

A young woman, orphaned as a child, capable of using a shield adeptly as well as being a literate person: the former courtesy of being trained as a Shieldmaiden who has yet to finish her training/trials and the latter courtesy of simply curiosity. She's viewed as an odd person due to her rather behavior of looking around as if in search of something or nothing in particular. Gudrun's is of average height yet her body is muscled enough to indicate she is trained in martial prowess, whilst having rusted silver hair and bright crimson eyes.

[X] Gudsrun ???sdottir's Action
-[X] (Summer of Action) Scout around the Settlement's boundaries in search of strange locations or oddities. (Try to look for 'places of spiritual significance' due to the Seeress's request?)
-[X] (Winter of Respite) Help watch over the Children, Orphans?, and maybe teach those interested on writing and words? (Help other mothers with the burden known as CHILDREN? I didn't mean it in a bad way.)

Decided to perhaps just look towards Runes once they pop up later? Maybe? PT to Shield to defend herself, no weapon proficiency yet since she's still trying to see what fits with her shield?, Literate since that seems a rare thing and maybe helps in teaching the Children/orphans somehow? Maybe? And Seeing Eyes with a Boar Soul? The latter because I searched Valkyries (cause Shield Maidens mentioned them in Google? and noticed they rode horses, wolves or boars. The latter is the odd one out so decided to go with that?

Will definitely go back to picking the Hammer later... Maybe. :V

This is actually a really good combo, because shields are made of wood and disposable, meaning you can easily put Runes on them even under these circumstances. Which allows for some cool stuff.

..ah. So I still want Gudrun to pick up Woodcrafting later... Thanks for the info! @_@/

Having non-combat skills is generally good, but making shields and carving runes on them don't require woodworking as a PT investment...the Norse are all skilled in basic stuff you need to survive as an independent farm, which includes making things out of wood, and you took the literacy/runecrafting skill so you're good there.

You'd, of course, make better shields more easily with woodworking, but it's not absolutely required.

Well since Galti freely gave it, can I start now? Or will that have to wait?
