Those in the camp, yes. If you're out clearing land/scouting/hunting/whatever, not quite as lucky
Well, my guy spends most of his time turning other people's felled timber into houses right now, so he's probably in the camp.
It takes a bit for Erik Hardhead to quite register that there's an actual monster attack, being as how he's heavily preoccupied trying to gauge the angle for a rafter. The combination of "Measure twice, cut once" and "man am I bad at math" does sometimes trip him up a little, even if he's normally got a good eye for these things. If things somehow remain chill, he's probably not even going to fully grasp how much of a trouble this thing was until later.
But if this starts to get loud and violent- and only if- he gets up and picks up a couple of the javelins he keeps close at hand whenever possible- his favorite weapons, though the seax at his hip is the only real weapon he always carries. He jogs in the general direction of the monster, angling to the left and looking for a clean cast at the thing.
When he gets one, he hefts one of his javelins at the balance point. It leaves his hand, making a distinctly Doppler-shifted buzz as it passes through the air.
[X] Erik throws a spear just as hard as he can, marrying Force and Spear kenna into his favored Puncture the Bastard trick.
(Erik remains bad at naming things)
(Sorry, had to make some edits to adapt to what everyone else was doing while I was writing the post)
