Yep. That much is already in the plan at this point. The only question is whether this whole shebang costs an action or not.

Oh, also, initiating uh, aggressive diplomacy with the Ice Sword seems to have gotten dropped from last turn's actions. I know there's a lot of stuff in the turns so I don't wanna retcon it in, maybe we can have a freebie Reward Dice towards doing it this turn or whenever we get around to it?

I'd say troll murder, as that might fuck around weirdly with the Breakthrough, and also each turn its still there it could be doing evil troll stuff like nicking people's cows etc, but the sword is just gonna sit there

Definetly the trolls. last time a threat was left simmering in the background it ended up with a legion of trollmen almost devouring the farm.

Also is there any plan on talking to bjorney about their awakening in the near future because i was thinking of putting a reward die towards that

Also we need to prepare for the nasties to come from the soul side of the bench, but it would be good either way to have everyone stand watch over Halla in case the enemy decide to be sneaky bastard in the real world while she is otherwise occupied.

I think the troll is better, we're going to be doing a lot of spirit/cultivation style shenanigans this turn, and a nice simple little mini-adventure will be a nice change of pace I think.

my memory is that the reason the trolls came was because the witch hadnt been dealt with. it was long ago so i could be remembering wrong.

Hard to say. That was certainly one theory at the time, but with the revelation of her death I don't think it's the most likely scenario. We don't actually know for sure.

That said, whether it was true last time or not, not letting the troll problem fester does seem a reasonable course of action.

I'm thinking the falling moss, mostly because I'm convinced that at some point we'll get knocked out of the sky

To be clear, we're definitely planting all of these, and likely planting at least the moss and Blood-Seeking petals in our soul, the question is whether we want them in our soul right this second...but I'm down for Falling Moss if other people are.

Okay, so, plan. The basic idea here is that we burn two of our bottled lightning to clear out our crafting queue by a lot and make presents for everyone one way or another...this is extravagant for our retainers, but that's fine and good, IMO. We save the third bottled lightning for emergencies. We also go and serve a Troll an eviction notice...maybe see if we can get some information out of them regarding Drysalt and/or any other interesting stuff that it might know.

We also cultivate and break through to the Second Realm this turn. If we need an actual action to prep for that we can skip the Troll for a turn and use that action for that instead, but I don't think we do? I'm not sure how to write the prep for that, but I'll add it in if someone has a good idea for that. We might want to add another plant to our soulscape, but I'm not sure which. So I've been messing around with rendering this into dróttkvætt after getting inspired by Crimsoning the Eagle's Claw and The Song-Weigher by Ian Crockatt, which arrived a few days ago and I finally got a chance to read whilst sitting behind the till at the charity bookshop I volunteer at today. Would heartily recommend both books, his translations of the poems are excellent and immensely readable; they feel alive and relatable but also retain an elusive quality that evokes the vast chasm of time between two languages and two worlds these slender webs of words span.

Also @Shard, you were completely right that dróttkvætt is only ever a single stanza BTW, so apologies there as I was wrong. The multi-stanza poems I was thinking of in Egil's Saga were in runhent and kviðuháttr metre, which are completely different and also have their own different hilariously specific rules about syllables which make translating them the literary equivalent of doing a Super Metroid speedrun using a kazoo instead of a controller. They do have eight lines per stanza, which is what threw me off.

I've given up on getting the system into my brain to participate more (i like complex systems, but this one just didn't hit the rng of my brain right i guess :p), but for whoever is competing for plans, any chance of there being room in the Plan(TM) to use the inspiration from abjorn vs the bear? iirc his main weakness was low orthstirr, right? also just want him to have more Nice Things :p

Quick Edit: also i think there was discussion a while back of trying adding odr to inspiration working, and i dont remember if that ever got done, or if this would be a chance to test that as well?

This is basically a praise poem, so would be a perfect candidate for dróttkvætt! If we share our composition with Lidrun, and she thinks it's any good, she could even spread it around.

This bit reminded me we should add Odr to the poem writing, so I did. We could also try Frenzy, though doing that within our soul may be risky...I'm ambivalent there.

Presumably we are preparing the poem and then put it on the stone, so what would be the danger with Frenzy that isn't fixed by 'don't have a weapon while doing it, keep a calm charge at hand for emergencies' as worstcase preparation?
