Why did we use our saxes? I don't think the plan called for that.

In fact considering that it specifically mentioned that were using sagaseeker othstirr for the trick I think the idea was to use that and not our saxes

Well, Fylga seems to have supernatural effects that regular animals don't have so it might be animals + abilities you normally can't access by yourself directly.

Like Halla can't physically grab gacha loot herself and Steinarr can't spit on stuff to turn them to stone but the dog can even if the owl/dog is still them so it might open up some new possibilities once we do figure out what the heck Fylgaskinn actually does.

That and the wolf-man thing with Hal having a wolf Fylgja makes me wonder if it's something you could do with Fylgja that most don't know about like how people don't know Stoking could heal you. Hal also made sure to not let people see it out in the open for whatever reason.

We were too close to use Sagaseeker. I (and everyone else) missed that. In order to attack at all while keeping up Mire Ward we needed to use saxes.

[X] How were you pulling our so many shields and weapons? Was that just a lot of Fasts or was there more to it?
[X] How does that stuff involving your Fylgja work? It seems different.
[X] How does that Trick that propels your attacks with explosives work?

hm????
Fylgjaskinn 10 | Infusion 7 (Porter Blitzingwolf)
neat.
IF, The swapping is his Fylgja bonus huh? i mean, the Porter Blitzingwolf. if so, it would truly make it tragic teaching the trick to our kids :p
Also, he has 2 milestones.
Fylgja(skinn) 10 and infusion 7. Perhaps that's what 7 infusion into it does? makes you able to wear/meld with your fylgja?

[X] How does that stuff involving your Fylgja work? It seems different.

Hm... i wanna ask him about Hallr but how without tipping anyone else listening...

[X] Say cousin... i hear it from my dad that i learn hugreida as fast as Hallr, from what he remembers.... do you have a similar experience with something else as well?

[X] Do you know about anything similar to the fleinn thing? i mean how it sunders Hugr defenses.

Oooh, unknown compoud noun.
From context, probably the ulfhednar martial style.
Ulf is probably Úlfr = wolf.

Old Norse Dictionary - Úlfr

Meaning of Old Norse word "úlfr"
sins could be Sinni = "fellowship, company"

Old Norse Dictionary - Sinni

Meaning of Old Norse word "sinni"
Bregda could be Bregða: "[of a weapon] to draw, brandish", "[of the limbs or parts of the body] to move quickly", "to put a thing out of the way, to hide it", "to turn, alter, change"

Old Norse Dictionary - Bregða

wolf fellowship and a bunch of options.
wolf and fellowship reinforces my assumption that it is a thing of the warband.
[X] How does that stuff involving your Fylgja work? It seems different.

The second question is basically 'Fylgjaskinn?' but we only know that word OOC. I'm a little uncertain on the third question and could be convinced to change it. I bet he can't talk about his Martial Styles due to Warband stuff, and Odr seems right out due to witnesses...at this point, looking at his sheet, I doubt he has Eyespeak to respond to us.
@Imperial Fister
how awkward would it be for Halla to admit to have seen it if it is a secret of his warband he was using?
(Fylgjaskinn could be secret won from the enemy and turned into a warband secret, after all)

Spotting it shouldn't be a problem, I don't think. He just wouldn't be allowed to talk about it. But, given the Blackhand Instance thing, I think that part is likely from Blackhand. Which would mean he can talk about it if he wants.

[X] (using eyetalk): I'm using eyetalk, so only you should be able to hear this question. Have you every heard a fragment of Hallr Blackhand speak to you?

[X] How does that Trick that propels your attacks with explosives work?
i think this was the reverse firebomb strike. making the explosion behind the weapon before the swing, instead of before the weapon and after the swing.
I will say that Hal's bag of tricks has a lot more utility tricks than you've got in yours. Things like that reverse-Firebomb Strike, for example.
hm... we could ask him for advice, perhaps? on what tricks he would recommend us?

Yeah, but I presume if he lays it out we can actually learn it if we want.

That's fair as well, though...I'll add that to the third one. It shouldn't count as multiple questions if it's just asking for Trick recommendations, I don't think?

So... the reason we didn't get the wording of the prophecy about this encounter was so the wording could be adjusted to match the events that actually happen, right?

Are you saying their martial art is the [secret (insert your fylgja here) company]?
the theory could work though.... just like if its from his shard of Hallr.
i hope its the latter....
Not (insert your fylgja here). Wolf.
I think his fylgja and his warband theme overlap.
Maybe a coincidence. Maybe not.
Huh. Well, we get Determination From Defeat anyway, so that's nice. Alright then:

EDIT: Expanded the third question slightly.
Maybe ask about Hallr Blackhand splinter?
To get that conversation going?

Hopefully not warband secret techniques

[X] You mentioned a special someone back home. Tell me more?

[X] How'd you get the name Wolfhound?

That said @Imperial Fister would we need to spend an action on this, or can we just do it in the background?
It will repair slowly in the background, but you can spend an action to fully repair it

Can't say ;P

Not overly
So... the reason we didn't get the wording of the prophecy about this encounter was so the wording could be adjusted to match the events that actually happen, right?
The 'prophecy' was, quite literally, '[Flowery descriptors for Halla] will come and rid you of [flowery descriptors for Hal]'. Nereid told you it in his own words, but he wasn't inaccurate lmao.

That's fair as well, though...I'll add that to the third one.
Thanks, it just feels like... a waste to focus on one trick we could easily reverse engineer ourselves as well.
We saw what it does. Hallr can most likely fill in the holes as well.

And on that note.
"Hey, Blackhand, are you awake yet? You missed out on a great fight! Hopefully we can meet Hal again..... But what was that strange ressonance and why did you go silent for the whole spar?"
