Say, @DeadmanwalkingXI , can we scrpunge up a dice to see what happens if we use the sun spell in our soulscape? Since sunlight is needed for plants, maybe our farms will have boosted output with the sun than it has without the sun.

[X] Plan: FUCK 'EM UP!

Wolf Young Master Lol. We all had out checks clenched when he one shot 4-fold defenses and then he gets 'Punctured'. Surprised doggo face.
Don't worry Moonless Knight you'll live on...in our saga...as the mats for future equipment (or fed to Saga or Shade)

Edit: My analogy of him being the Big Bad Wolf works even better now. (Used trickery and voice to eat vunerable and weak victims, gets high diffed by an axe)
Edit: A thought occurs - Who is MK refering to by 'He'? We are assuming its Fenris or a god. What if its his Dad? Or Drysalt?

Not a bad idea. We can definitely give it a try, yeah. Actually, we should be able to combine that with another idea I had (using some of the healing water to water the crops). Those should be doable together.

Guys! Guys! you're missing it. He's male! He's male and overpowered and about to go down in a deeply shameful way, and he deserves everything we can do to him.

This is the perfect time for Knee-Groin Trick, especially if we're planning on running around behind him anyway.

I mean, I don't really have the mojo for writing combat plans in this system. I can't make it myself - but please. Letting this guy go down without utterly devastating his testicles would be such a waste.

[X] Plan: Nuclear Neutering
-[X] Slipstream and EWC active, as per usual (-14 Orthstirr)
-[X] Dart in with a 35x Sharpened, Lightning-Powered Flashfire Cleave with Puncture (30d6 + 70d6 (35x Sharpens) + 1d6 (Skyfire), total of 101d6 + 5 (Frenzy) 67 Orthstirr cost total) Attempt to land behind him while he's stuck to the ground by the glue
-[X] Then, use our Folded, Punctured IAT on him from that position, to keep him in place (26d6+5 x3, total of 27 Orthstirr)
-[X] Finally, deliver a Knee-Groin Trick with Puncture (30d6 + 50d6 Extra Orthstirr, total of 80d6+5 for 56 Orthstirr), on the moment of contact, unleash the Folded Sparkbombs from our Fast directly into him through that knee strike, each enhanced with Puncture (70d6+5 x3 for a total of 27 extra Orthstirr)
-[X] Use Perfect Defenses as necessary to defend ourselves, whatever is most appropriate for what we're trying to do. It's not like he can do anything about them! Draw on Sagaseeker's Aspects and our Armor's reserves as required.
-[X] If he's still alive after this and manages to take a swipe at us, use Contested Movement boosted by all three activations of Fight of your Life and any remaining Stoked Dice (3 Orthstirr) in order to nail him with a Punctured, Honed, Palm-Crush Trick enhanced with Firebomb Strike to ruin his life and also hurl him into something scary if we can. (14 Orthstirr total, auto-hits)

Same as the winning plan but I swapped the palm-strike with the knee-strike. Not sure if the math still works out tho

As has been pointed out (and I had not initially noticed), the current plan already has a KGT component. I'm just thinking it should be in the opening moves, rather than as a finisher that we might not actually get to.

Among other things, KGT is all about dropping the enemy defenses so they can be mulched more effectively. Why have it at the end?

Could probably make it happen with just a bit of reordering.

...though I admit that sharpening knee-groin trick sounds... painful. For Halla.

plan is great, but you have KGT twice there. might be better to change the second for something else, no need to knee him a second time in a row

So the 1v1 wasn't actually an auto-lose option, huh? That's nice to know. A shame, but it is what it is.

Sten's sheet is interesting. He has Rhythm but no infused stats, Henki the presumed internal resource is listed 18/18, and he seems to have four main stats instead of the usual three. I remember Hallr mentioning something about Finnish initiation requires a split Fylgja so that might be why he has both Itse and Haltija.

Googling the different Finnish words. Itse is one of the three souls the Finns believed in, it carries the concious mind and can assume an animal form similar to a Fylgja. The body soul or Löyly might be the Finnish Hamr equivalent and also means steam apparently. The third soul is the Iounto which is apparently associated with protector spirits known as Haltija.

Väki and Hënki are where my findings start to double back and overlap with eachother. Hënki means spirit or breath and is sometimes used synonymously with Löyly. Perhaps Hënki is cycled internally boiling away as it is expended and condensing as the user cools off explaining why it is a capped pool. Väki also has a double meaning referring to both spiritual/physical power and to different tribes of enviromental Haltija which is interesting. Making some guesses I think Hënki is used for internal processes possibly including combat healing and refilling the Väki pool. Väki is used to power external effects including their Hugareida equivalents.

Synnyt Knots are the most mysterious thing on the list. The fact that they are listed as empty implies that they would have been expended during the spar, I should reread the fight to see if anything stands out. Synty are a sort of incantation/poem which give power over an object or phenomena. Each recounts the origins of their subject so I think the story Sten told us about steel was a Synty or part of one.

Also I think Sten has four stats is because Itse and Haltija don't line up perfectly with Fylgja and Hugr. Also I would guess that Iounto is the Hamingja equivalent.

I think Hallr just said that it used your Fylgja so someone who'd had theirs revealed couldn't do it. The lack of Infusion is very interesting...one possibility is that the Finns may have their own issues with cultivation relating to the spirit that messed up Steel in their mythology (if seemingly not quite as bad as the Enemy?). Another is that it's just a very magic heavy Cultivation branch, and thus doesn't infuse stats, instead 'merely' having powerful magic. A third option is that actual Finns can infuse stats but Sten as a mixed cultivator has some issues in that regard.

All this seems plausible enough to at least some degree.

If they work like shapeshifting, we're generally shown them empty even if they were full during the actual fight (this was also true of Abjorn's Shapeshift Slots and Gabriel's Meditation Slots, for example). So I wouldn't assume this. I think they are indeed hanging spells, but I wouldn't assume he used all of them. The slowing spell is the only thing he used that I suspect was a Synnyt Knot.

Also I think Sten has four stats is because Itse and Haltija don't line up perfectly with Fylgja and Hugr. Also I would guess that Iounto is the Hamingja equivalent.

My own thought is that Haltija is the Hamingja equivalent (plus 'magical power' to some degree). If it's needed for their cultivation like Grace is for Feudal Cultivators, then he would've needed to develop it separately from his Hamingja even if they have similar effects in some ways (and I believe he rolled it when using a spell at one point, so it likely is necessary). That'd leave Itse as the Fylgja equivalent, which seems correct.

If he's a Young Master, then the convention would be he'll.cry out for help after the face slapping and then a dharma protector or his dad shows up.

Maybe that's what the older fighters are wary about.

Still, the current situation is pretty amusing.

And I wonder if no one else cares for the bone throne we can just take it home ourselves for the bone ash lol.

Oh! I just figured out some super important information this situation provides:

Punching Up's calibration is mechanistic and cannot make judgment calls. It measures raw power and nothing else. That seems to involve some combo of Cultivation Level and Combat Pool, but clearly does not involve having the intellect, Tricks, Twists, or experience to support those things. That's very good to know.

could it be possible that synty knots are the finnish version of twists. they are named similarly and it could be that we dont see him having any synty knots since they would all become twists for him.

Sten feels like the kind of character in myths that can create a super cursed weapon if he ever falls into very powerful grief or despair.

The guy can make Steel and maybe even Realize it too so if push ever came to shove than I could easily see him going off the slippery end.

Especially since he's picked on a 12 year old already just because Drifa likes him. And his whole dark mysterious history in Finland.

Hm.... wow.
That's harsh buddy.

I notice none of the plans have a contignency if he decide to leg it.
Not much chance for that, i understand, but he might go for it, and well...
Very good question! The ground is dirt and grass, not very solid
No way he is weak enough not to rip out the chunk of earth he is on.

So,i know its paranoia, but could there be a contignency for that, just to be sure?

Man, we're seeing a lot of Hugareida that it would definitely be nid to get hit by. Imagine being the guy who loses to someone holding an oar for example.
