real question I've been afraid to ask?

why do people find Gretel interesting.

like, I don't think she is bad, but all the other Ducklings were way more interesting and dynamic to me.

it kind of feels like she is the 'favourite duckling' more because Mathy narratively said it, then it actually being played out that way in the quest. considering this is the first time I think she might actually get voted for.

Because she's a sly thief with a sense of humor that fits in well with Mathilde's, and we've got a personal investment in seeing our protegés flourishing.

Plus she's our actual connection to what the dwarves are doing in Mad Dog pass.
 
Side note on the update: I really like the use of the metalsmith's boon to get BOOK. We benefit, because we advance our library. Nuln benefits, because they dwarven help at a time when it's really frickin' useful to them. And the dwarves benefit, because they're strengthening one of their allies and earning goodwill and improving ties.

Wins all around.
 
That's one beefy update to wake up to, and a lot of pages that I had to catch with in a hurry. It's all wonderful and I'd love to break it down bit by bit, but the short of it is 'Eike best daughteru apprentice' and 'BOOKS'.

Waaagh and Peace was +9 CF due to having Shattering insight, being Tactically Groundbreaking, Compelling, Thorough, and Alien, without any negative penalties. It remains our singular highest-rated paper... yet. Morbs in the horizon notwithstanding.

Tied with RoW, Observations on a Necrarch's Extreme-Range Real-Time Interaction Ability was +8 too, but we're cheating due to Necromantic Insight.

Big interest in the swordplay action, seeing our stuff at work is always fun.

I'd love to see some "What could have been" glimpses by heading to Wissenland too. Seeing potential tidbits of what we could have been dealing with in another time is far too appealing to me haha. (Though if the spymaster was actually any good I guess we wouldn't be seeing those :V )

College follow-ups I'm always here for :p. Wanna see those lizards all growed up. Plus it's been a good while since the handover of the rattie loot, so peeking in on the skaven haul is probably going on my Forever Vote For It pile, going forward.

Few in there for Mild Interest or like freshness factor haha. Skull River will probably become a Vote Every Time one for me in a few turns. It'll feel like the dust will have had time to well and truly settle by then.

I don't really have anything to say, sometimes you just read something in fiction that puts a big old smile on your face. Props to you or to the Warhammer writer who just gave me the warm and fuzzies.

I just think she's neat, and she's the only duckling we haven't checked in with since the Duckling club disbanded (it's probably time to check in with Hubert as well, it's been a while).

Also she has this big "YA MC" energy about her. An orphaned street thief who was adopted by an order of mystics, but left to pursue wealth and adventure? That just sounds really fun to me.
