Just a heads up, but the vote tallier does not automatically exclude votes from before the moratorium. You have to manually input the first post where voting is allowed, 236845:

...Hopefully if a bunch of people do that, it'll be the default.
As far as I'm aware, the moratorium is time-based, not position based. I'm fairly sure that editing your older posts is valid as long as they're after the threadmark and edited after the moratorium expires. At least, I'm pretty sure this has been done in the past without consequences.

I HAVE JUST GOTTEN HOME FROM STRIKING A BLOW AGAINST NURGLE

(not to be confused with @Nurgle, who is a lovely person whose participation in this quest I appreciate and against whom I have no desire to strike blows.)

Anyway, while I was in the observation area waiting to be let out, a friend pointed out to me that if I'm sad at the prospect of this no longer being a dwarf quest, I can just... approval vote all the dwarfy options. And they were right!

[X] Kislev
My top choice for the "fuck you Chaos" value. Acceptably dwarfy: Karak Vlag is small but loves us to an honestly alarming degree.

[X] Carcassonne
Moderately dwarfy. Karak Norn is right nearby, and Karak Hirn (with friend Ulthar!) not too much farther away.

[X] Karak Eight Peaks
[dwarven infection intensifies]

My earlier effortpost, for reference.
I think Kislev would be golden for supporting implementation of our research when it's (semi)done.
That's not an option.
Uprooting the research project after an initial run of success to cozy up to someone new would be a fantastic way to very thoroughly burn your bridges.
We pick a patron and see it through.

EDIT: It occurs to me that if we gain access to an elder library that venerable, we won't have to spend out big dwarven boon on Books. We'll already have all the books we'll ever need.

Well, that's an intention of the folks there. Would it translate into better research results? I think Kislev would be golden for supporting implementation of our research when it's (semi)done.
Alas, implementation in Kislev if the project is headquartered outside it is improbable, based on what Boney had said earlier in response to someone putting forward the idea of relocating the project partway through.

Laurelorn is my second choice and I'll be happy if it wins but since it's already in first place I'll boost my first choice.

No tallier works by checking the post edited date, and the default configuration of the SV tallier is currently counting this vote, which was made 11 hours before the moratorium lifted and hasn't been edited since.

And I do mean no tallier: looking into the past just in case somebody edited their post after the moratorium would be enormously inefficient, and without a position basis you could claim that the second post in the thread is now a valid vote so long as it was edited after the moratorium lifted - meaning the entire thread would have to be parsed. There's simply no reason for it to work anything remotely like that.

236845 was the first post made after the moratorium lifted, so that's the correct one to start tallying from. Simple.

I am a slut for ancient libraries.

I'm personally more interested in Carcassone, but I think Kislev makes more sense for Mathilda's goals and history

HERE WE GO

I want treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemen

[X] Laurelorn
This isn't Drunken Dynasty, Laurelorn hasn't had ties to Athel Loren since they both splintered from Ulthuan, and we haven't seen any tree folk with them. If you want nature spirits, Boris has promised us Hag Witches, who have their entire magic tradition built around dealing with those spirits.
