I can see why some people would want to avoid Uzkulak, but what is the problem with Vlag?
The interactions among Mathilde, Vlag´s survivors, and the Longbeards sent by the High King seem something that would be extremely interesting/funny...

Mathilde is better at Shadow Steed cause its a part of her. Carrying her on the same Steed won't make the issue go away.
looking at the map most of the problems stemming from the route seem to be near kislev and if some break down its not that far
the other fact is that the wagons are redesigned boats so if they do go through the ice they might not sink instantly

That's 2-3 weeks for the 'original, across the pack ice' Frozen Sea route, and 4 weeks back the way we came, right?
Agree on this, if everything else was equal it would be more interesting to see new stuff.
If the Frozen Sea route is shorter, with a favourable supply situation we can probably afford some attrition, losing a wagon or two.
My feeling is 'subject to the Dolgan coming through, we go with the Frozen Sea.'
With the proviso that we might need to re-evaluate if we can't stock up on cows, see how we feel about our chances on the shorter route vs. stocking up at Uzkulak?
Ok so if we take the ice route we can maybe hit the last hope inn The Last Hope which may be fun since it is a neutral place near the chaos wastes. Maybe a chance to buy loot or meet a future enemy/ally.
