Being busy trying to correct that might well include searching for something to sacrifice to earn back favour.
Knowing that would actually be a good idea. We can brace for an attack or perhaps trick them away somehow. Engage in shenningans. Better than letting them come to us with surprise.

or even a favoured 'champion' of an order god, that they'd learn about if we meet them.
How would they know that? We would be really poor Ranaldian if we let them know in first meeting. And I doubt they can go "I sense you highlander", Only we can do that.

Yes, knowing that would be a good idea. But again, it also means giving them information about us, which is a genuine cost which some voters might believe outweighs the information gain.

I mean there's a limited amount of information we could be said to be giving on simple contact. They would know we are a shaman of the Shadowed of the Eight, but then just glancing at us from a distance would give them that. Mathilde is a beacon of Ulgu.

If we arent stealing the chalice now then talking with the ice witch is more or less mandatory.

There's a long silence as everyone considers those numbers. "These wouldn't be fat Averland steers," Sir Ruprecht says. "Call it two to a ton, and a quarter of that bone."

"At least forty tons of meat per steam-wagon," Borek says, a hint of hope re-entering his voice. "That quintuples our range. If we can get enough cows, that's more than enough to reach Karag Dum and for the journey back."

I'm failing to grasp either the language or the math here. If "two to a ton" means "one cow weighs half a ton" then 60 cows weigh 30 tons, 22.5 tons of meat and offal after we remove "quarter of that bone". Even if we add the original nine ton food capacity per wagon it is 31.5 tons, not 40. And I don't see any quintupling going on (well, if 60 cows actually contained 40 tons of meat then that would have been quintupling).

I got confused by stupid Imperial measurements, I'll fix it up.

It's a bit late and I missed alot of discussion, but could this have been cast on the road to strengthen it?

Curiously, latter calculations (about wagon loss) seems to be more or less right for "two to a ton figure". We have 45 tons of food now, which is two weeks. With added food cowpacity each wagon now can carry 31.5 tons of food (instead of nine) which is 1.4 weeks per wagon. Thus four wagons give us 5.6 weeks of food, while three give 4.2.

Yeah, I think I was working off raw poundage when I did the timetable so all that needed changing was the total cow weight and the quintuple vs triple thing.

Now that I've gotten the screaming out of my system,

1) I've declared a moratorium on this subject four separate times, including in the update itself.
2) It says 'object'. A road is not an object.

Also can I just mention that I continue to be entertained by how skilled Mathilde is at whitewashing basically anything.

'Ensorcell them into an enchanted sleep' is such a nice way of saying 'paralyze them with something very like rigor mortis to the point they seem dead but they remain conscious unless we use a completely different spell that actually puts them to sleep'.

Very nice way of making it not horrifying, A+.

Thinking about it that way... isn't that the spell that was used on Snow White?

[x] Attempt to steal the Chaos artefact with Ljiljana

It may take longer to track down than 1 action covers. Best get started early.

I find it hilarious that after all the "how do we stop Borek from continuing the doomed quest" discussions in thread, Mathilde was the first one to jump on the "press on" train, even before the food solution was found. I gather that without it it would be Mathilde+Borek vs. the rest of the council debate.
