I don't think that's what @BurnNote means; we have an available action we've never taken, "[ ] Gain enough control of your unruly shadow to still it temporarily." BN is suggesting that we try to take a similar action, if one exists, for each of our other Arcane Marks. No Flicker action exists, but I can imagine that one might show up for our new one.
As I recall, the "Gain control of your shadow" action was also something the players initially asked about during the first attack on a Karag. I think it went something like:
Players: Could the moving shadow's betray our position?
BM: In principle yes, but not in this case, since the lighting is all flickering anyway.
Players: Can we do something about that?
BM: Not permanently, but for short periods yes.
Ah, right, sorry, @BurnNote.

I should have paid better attention, that's a reasonable thing to do.
No worries.

So close! The team of Kazrik and Oswald are so close to displacing the skaven reports!

What do you want to see more? A bunch of serious-faced military types who aren't even dwarves talk about fighting skaven? Or a sheltered dwarf crown prince who has recently become an umgiboo and OSWALD OSWALDSON, with whom we can compare notes about being suicidally brave?

It'll be a major issue when we try infiltrating Skryre. I recommend getting the issue under control soon, since we're very likely to need to sneak into Skryre's lines eventually.
It's only at the level of "a good bath and a change of clothes would do it", then just steer away from fires.

Illusion can cover scent, and only takes "as much concentration as walking and talking on the phone" or some such, paraphrasing Boney here.

If we want to be drawing lines connecting her existing skills to Battle Magics when deciding which ones to learn, that would be a much better place to start.
Don't forget that a hypothetical Mathilde's Martial Metamorphosis (which turns on all of her fighty masteries with the same spell) has also been confirmed as something we can at least try to work towards (with the acknowledgement that it would take actual effort and good luck and stuff).
You can try, but the result you get out the other end would be the result of multiple AP, a lot of dice-rolls and, unless Ranald was particularly generous, probably some compromises.

Incidentally, why we'd want to actually research something like that when we can just cast the spells themselves in order to trigger it all, besides being able to share it with other people: Battle Magic is as fast as any other spell we cast. Like, eight to fifteen seconds. A pretty long time if you don't want to fumble it, but scary fast compared to having to do it manually.
Question would the shadow of a cloud passing over on a sunny day count for the burning shadow?
No, but a 'cloud' created by Pall of Darkness would.
Also also, I found these quotes relevant now that we've built a gargantuan platform to fire this off with. We can reposition the sun, effectively, and we know that we can try to make towers that shoot battle magic, so I think we might be able to find a way to rig it up so that palls of darkness could be placed under the location of the illumination to hit areas hidden behind other obstacles. Notably, this would let us hit people besieging the west gate, outside of the Caldera.

If actually touching the thing casting the shadow would be an issue, we happen to have an exceptionally thematic way to get around that; rather than a flat black disk floating in the sky, make it look like a gigantic shadowy sword stretching forth from the mountain.

I mean, nothing's guaranteed, but it's something we could stick in the 'try to add this tower room to your pile of cool wizard towers' list, since we know we can work on it even after we declare success.

Yes, considering that it's the aftermath of the Empire basically punching their greatest rivals in the metaphorical face for the first time in centuries. What's going on? I'm intensely curious.

[X] Investigate the aftermath of the Empire's campaigns against the Skaven in Nuln and Ubersreik.

[X] Kragg, who's begun to be seen around the Karak once more, indicating he might be finishing his study of the rune-axe you and Johann found.
[X] Check in on your fief in Stirland.
[X] Yes, have one social interaction be initiated by someone other than Mathilde.
[X] Investigate the aftermath of the Empire's campaigns against the Skaven in Nuln and Ubersreik.
[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart, as the new home of the Winter Wolves takes shape.
[X] Max, during the few breaks in the silence as the two of you worked on Queekish in the Room of Serenity.
[X] Soizic, newly elevated to military leader of the Undumgi.
[x] Wilhelmina, to see how she's going when she's not a terrifying financial juggernaut.
[X] Investigate the aftermath of Bretonnia's campaigns against the Skaven in Mousillon and the Black Chasm.
[x] Karak Hirn, to satisfy your curiousity about Prince Ulthar.

I'm gonna be honest, serious faced military guys talking about fighting skaven sounds pretty good.

I had an idea. Would it be possible to upgrade Aetheric Armor to have some kind of strength enhancing effect?

[X] Yes, have one social interaction be initiated by someone other than Mathilde.
[X] Kragg, who's begun to be seen around the Karak once more, indicating he might be finishing his study of the rune-axe you and Johann found.
[X] King Belegar, as he arranges for Clan Ironspike to rejoin their ancestral home from Karak Hirn.
[X] Prince Kazrik, as he builds on his relationship with Nuln.
[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi and possible future Thane.

[X] King Belegar, as he arranges for Clan Ironspike to rejoin their ancestral home from Karak Hirn.
[X] Prince Gotri, who is enhancing the underground defences of the Karak.
[X] Princess Edda, as she oversees the reopening of a long-dormant silver mine north of Death Pass.
[X] Prince Kazrik, as he builds on his relationship with Nuln.
[X] Gunnars, to see if you can pierce his terse nature.
[X] Titus Muggins, who's returned to farming with every avenue of attack defended.
[X] Elder Hluodwica, as the Halflings prepare for their first proper harvest festival in this new home.
[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi and possible future Thane.
[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart, as the new home of the Winter Wolves takes shape.
[X] Anton, to see how his firearm factory is going.
[X] Wilhelmina, to see how she's going when she's not a terrifying financial juggernaut.

I see it is time to switch to strategic voting:
[šŸ±] Corporal Snuggles
[X] Oswald Oswaldson, newly-minted Chief Bombardier of the Undumgi.

Also, something I'd like to bring up to attention, and something we've been skipping out of for no reason: we can post bounties on Barak Varr and through the EIC for rare stuff we want to buy.

So, next purchase vote, let's at least do:

[] [PURCHASE] Post a bounty for dragonbones at Barak Varr/with the EIC, and send that Bright Lord Magister who made the MAPP a cask of fine dwarven ale.

Ya?

[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart, as the new home of the Winter Wolves takes shape.
[X] Soizic, newly elevated to military leader of the Undumgi.

Prefer these two to Oswald.

If Boney OKs it, sure. I was under the impression that it would be an EIC action, not a Purchase one, but if we can do it then by all means let's do it.

We should probably extend our spy network or make sure it isn't compromised first. And isn't it to early for our staff? We really don't have the AP right now. Let's first check if the Aethyric Vitae and our new research are usable for it first.

Edit: Just saw that you put it in the [PURCHASE ] category. I think the dragon bones will require a full EIC action, given their rarity.

Not BoneyM, obviously, but I'd say
*Huge sword, probably overcompensating
*Puts her name on everything
*Surprisingly religious, when you get down to it
*Giant Sword!
*Collects (vampire) skulls like a confused budget Khornate
*Tries to be at least partially in the spotlight (she voluntarily wanted to be a knight...)
*GIANT SWORD!
You forgot 'hoards romance novels and smut'. :p

I'd rather exchange the man-with-a-slightly-bigger-goat-herd for all three.

You know, if we take the time to finish off Cloak Activity at some point, we could theoretically get a +92 (+ 27 (Learning) + 25 (Tower) + 20 (Partial) + 20 (Gambler)) bonus to the roll. Anybody feel up for another instant spell mastery, complete with half a Gambler charge to boost w/e roll might be made to determine said mastery? :V

The idea of posting a bounty is that, whenever some plucky adventurers come home full of loot, we get first dibs.

Yeah it might work then, but I'm worried than if we don't actively research them by mobilizing our EIC assets, we won't find it by posting a bounty and waiting for it to fall into our lap, because I presume than dragon bones are rare enough that other people will actively try to find them and get the opportunity before we even heard of it.
