I am not sure exactly why we'd want to take another turn investigating the so-called " Empress Heidi( Gabriella) ". True, she is probably the greatest threat to us amongst the Order races, but that is still not enough to make me want to vo-

OH BOY IT'D BE LIKE GETTING A CHANCE TO STAB BOTH OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME!

[X] Empress 'Heidi', to be present for the birth of her child.

The problem with hammering the same button again once we've found a button we like is that it diminishes the breadth of the world we're engaging with.
I mean, if you want to see more of a character, you should vote for them. You never know when a crit fail is going to come up and kill them, and I've noticed this thread is not particularly keen on bringing back the dead.

We really know very little about Karak Eight Peaks as a newly forming society society or a place, or about the wider world and will continue like that if we insist on spending pretty much all our time with characters who lived in Stirland or the Colleges of Magic at some point.

We should sbe investing the majority of her social time in Mathilde's home at this point, not the opposite.
I'm of the opinion that if we, the thread, really want to explore Undumgi, but there's not enough Boney for that, we should start on omakes.

UPD: Liked by the QM. Let's take the hint!

I generally agree with the criticism and exploration/exploitation dilemma. However, I consider both the conversation with Algard and the birth of an Emperor as the kind of unique event that I get people wanting to see. Likewise, Belegar is so troubled that people advocating that we should sacrifice whole action points to help him, so at least talking with him about the problem is obviously important.

The only highly upvoted action I think the criticism fully applies to is Roswita. All others are the sort of unique situational events that would be significant to Mathilde.

[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi

Like I said earlier, I want to see how the other humans are setteling in.

[X] Algard, reporting the Skaven Civil War in person instead of in writing.

I want to see firsthand how the collage takes the news. This should be fun.

[X] The Amber College, to see how your donation of Lustrian eggs is going.
[X] Kasmir, to see if he rejoined the Council of Stirland.

Hard to decide the fact final two, but I ultimately decided I want to know how these two plot lines pan out.

I've been thinking of doing something like this, but I still really want them to show up in a social turn in the future. My worry is that writing omake about the Undumgi would just lead people to not vote for them even more, because "well, we've got omake anyway."

Thus concludes the work Mathilde performed these past months, but not every waking moment was filled with work. With whom did she spend her free time, this past year? The five with the most votes will be chosen, not counting the locked in one.

[+] The Wizards of Karak Eight Peaks (locked in)
[X] King Belegar, to try to get some idea of where he's at with his crisis of faith.
[X] Prince Kazrik, as he tries to convince Nuln to let him make them fabulously rich.

[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi
[X] Oswald Oswaldson, newly-minted Chief Bombardier of the Undumgi
[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart, as the new home of the Winter Wolves takes shape.

[X] Barak Varr, to watch the progress of the canal.
[X] Karak Hirn, to satisfy your curiousity about Prince Ulthar.

[X] Algard, reporting the Skaven Civil War in person instead of in writing.
[X] Roswita, as she rides out the chaos of the influx of Battle Wizards.
[X] Kasmir, to see if he rejoined the Council of Stirland.
[X] The Amber College, to see how your donation of Lustrian eggs is going.
[X] Empress 'Heidi', to be present for the birth of her child

[X] Check in on the Gong Farmers and the Niter Factory.

There is also a second question of great import. Your dragon-skull reading chair is indeed amazing, but with your tower of Divine Fiery Wrath taking hold, it might be that its control throne is a better place for the skull. Will you sacrifice your incredible reading nook?

[X] Yes. What better place to burn armies from than the skull of a dragon?

Forgot about the Dragon Throne. I have.....
No strong leanings one way or the other.

[X] Check in on your fief in Stirland.
[X] No. Mathilde's dragon skull chair belongs only to Mathilde.

@BoneyM How about something like: "Hang around Sylvania, see if a Grey Battle Wizard shows up. Get their perspective on casting Grey Battle Magic. Was it worth it, for them, learning those arts?"

EDIT: I get most of these, but not Algard. Why you want to hang out with that old man? Just for the sipt-take? There won't be one. He's the Patriarch. He won't show a response at all, like when the did the Necromancy College thing. Just watch what Dagomas did. He also didn't respond in an anything but "shit's fucked, get your guys, I'll get ours". The most we got from him, in terms of character was that he cursed the Vamp originatior of that line. He's sharp, professional and competent, but I really don't think Mat's the kind to hang around the Patriarch just for a joke, IE to see his face. Grey's are smug to others, not to each other.

I disagree, Mathilde has an obvious interest on trying to help the integration of wizard's go well, as well as in Abelheim's daughter and Stirland.
This could be the turning point that helps her get over that Phobia.

Also @BoneyM has there ever been thoughts of going back to approval voting for turns proper? I understand it leads to less uniform plans, but I feel like there is more chat involvement over votes when it's not "what variation of this plan do you want".

Considered it a time or two, but it would too easily lead to weirdness where people are voting against something they actually want to vote for because it's the only way to get the timekeeping to line up the way they think it should. The votes seem to be lining up quickly because it's being discussed in advance and there's pretty widespread agreement on what Mathilde's priorities should be, and while that's a good thing for thread harmony it does mean less conversation overall. The social vote is a way to have it the other way, because no matter how harmonious the strategic prioritization, 'who do you like best and want to see more of' opens up the field a lot more.

@BoneyM How about something like: "Hang around Sylvania, see if a Grey Battle Wizard shows up. Get their perspective on casting Grey Battle Magic. Was it worth it, for them, learning those arts?"

"I'M SORRY I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF A THOUSAND THOUSAND SCREAMING SOULS TRAPPED WITHIN THE PIT OF SHADES AS I TEAR IT OPEN TO ADD VAMPIRES TO THEIR ETERNALLY-SUFFERING NUMBER"

I just like Algard and it's an interesting way to see him.

Repeat after me: No mechanical benefit will be had for Mat out of Social actions. You are not going to solve Phobia with social actions. That needs real actions to deal with. You can be there as a friend, but not as a therapist, actual aid, and so on. We spent this turn deep in the Tower and Learning. She can stick around to help Roswita deal with the influx of Battle Magic, but she'll do that as a supportive friend of her father.

I'm not really sure Roswita and Mat are friends. They kind of aren't. They are bound by duty, service and Van Hal. Not so much on a personal level.

Could we ask Melkoth or Algard? When considering battle magic, getting a Magister Lord or a Patriarch's opinion seems like a solid idea. Though I suppose it's more appropriate once we become a Magister Lord.
