.... Neferata is the progenitor of the Lahmia vampire line.
I meant this girl, obviously not Neferata.

'Heidi' is not a vampire, because she's married to the Emperor, that means a wedding in a Cathedral of Sigmar, officiated by the Grand Theogonist. And living out her life within relative proximity of Ghal Maraz, too. Ranald wouldn't pick a vampire for this job even if he had a friendly vampire, it's just not worth it.

[X] Try to find Kasmir in Sylvania.

I want our priest friend back. Maybe there'll be a roll to see if he's alive, but it's better than never knowing.

IT IS DECREED, that this declaration will be in effect for the entirety of the realm of Eastern Stirland, that some know as Sylvania;
No big deal, just sic all the mages on the region. Roswita and all the Witch Hunters are going to be feeling really confused.

says the woman who was once known as Countess Gabriella von Bundebad
Uhh, what!? This woman managed to pretend to be a Vampire rather close to the Von Carstein's for a decent chunk of time, and is now the Empress. When You have the god of gamblers on your side, there is no such thing as luck.

your mind is filled with the unwelcome knowledge of how to perform every type of necromancy, but also the very useful knowledge of how to shatter them all
While handy, strangely not applicable while working with Dwarves.

Do you know how happy some dwarf craftsmen would be to have to make a dragon skull chair!? We can use it every day, it'll be super comfortable, and it'll look bitchin.

Just picture it, a timid duckling has a question and upon intruding into the reading room, sees Mathilde lounging with a book (of a suitably mysterious and dangerous look), on a DRAGONBONE CHAIR with her Witch Hunter hat on and her fuckoff gromil sword leaning against it.

okay, okay, more specifically:

I almost cried when Mathilde mentioned that she was close to Abelheim.

also, the now-empress is a Ranaldine with the biggest stones in the current Empire, including Mathilde. god, that woman didn't just wave a red flag, she grabbed a party cannon and shot it at the bull, while screaming epithets at its mother. I want so badly to know the whole story behind all that.

Yes but you quoted me, I was talking about how pregnancy is not a litmus test for whether some one can't be a vampire.

Hard agree. It's a fine line to walk in progression-fantasy-type-stories, between making it clear that your character is in fact becoming more badass and awesome in a meaningful way that the world reacts to and making them the Big Swinging Dick around whom every other character circles and fawns.

We know we're pretty damn cool. Lots of people agree that we are pretty damn cool. But we're not the only person who can be pretty damn cool.
Also, yeah, this. The way how glimpse into the greater world was not a heavy-handed "lesson in humility", was not accomplshed by undermining Matty's achievements, or other some such nonsense but genuinely entertaining look at What Other Cool Cats Do is something QMs should be taking notes on.

That was... something else.

The Supreme Patriarch outright sounds like a legendary lord (as he well should). Nice political goal/activity, too.
The Grey Patriarch (and wow, former Supreme Patriarch!) seems awesome. I really like his quirk of keeping an artistic record of Destruction armies he ruined. And pocket-dimensions that serve as inbox and outbox.

Ranald is sure playing silly buggers. What I don't understand is how the timeline of "Gabrielle's" survival works.
She, what? Managed to slip through the witch-hunt five years ago, became a courtier in the meantime, and about a year ago Ranald supercharged her chance probability to such degree that she became Imperial Consort?

So, Drachenfels stirs, something in Ostland went FUBAR, other Elector Counts are useless. The one thing remaining to complete the rosy picture is for either Skaven to invade Nuln or for Malagor to whip up the Beastmen something fierce.

A heartfelt moment with Roswita. The coming tide of super-killy debatably sane mages will be a trial, I imagine. But still, it's looking a lot brighter for her.
a. The tide of super-killy mages is on her side, and thanks to Mathilde there are easy targets to point it at.
b. She's going to confiscate (and execute) the hell out of Southern Stirland, which is still the richest part of Stirland, which means that there might be enough place in the budget for an additional army to be raised and supplied.

Mathilde really scoped out Karagril. If current warboss is assassinated, there will be significant infighting. Of course, dwarf assault would unite them, but a timely strike, a day or two after orcs have started to fight each other and started to accrue losses would be devastating for them.

Liber Mortis has been read. Huh. Mathilde learned more about how to counter Necromancers (or to become a Big Bad in her own right) than about magical theory. I mostly expected for it to pan out like that.
Vlad seems to have really respected Frederick van Hal.
In any case, I really hope that for the purposes of this quest that Morr and Usirian are separate entities. That tidbid of lore always irked me.

I am surprised there is no action for Belegar. Then again, i have no idea what the context for the talk with him could be, so like. Whatever. There not being a default option for Belegar is still going in the book tho.

[x] Loremaster: Expert on Forest Spiders
The We is made of social giant spiders magically enhanced into a gestalt. An expert on the closely related, somewhat social giant forest spider should have an understanding of their needs and drives.
[ ] Loremaster: Expert on weaving
They are not ready for product development yet.
[ ] Loremaster: Expert on beekeeping
Individual bees are dumb and even a hive is something you farm. The We may be eusocial but each individual is dog smart and the whole is someone to teach. The lineage is very different to that of bees, the organisation is different, the biology is different - knowledge of beekeeping is as likely to mislead as help.

Thus concludes the work Mathilde performed these past months, but not every waking moment was filled with work. With whom did she spend her free time, this past year? The five with the most votes will be chosen (normally six, but Duckling Club is locked in).

[x] Princess Edda, to pry for details about her illicit romance with Prince Kazrik.

edit: and added because I don't want double Roswita:

And approval vote
[x] Wilhelmina, to see how she's going when she's not a terrifying financial juggernaut.
[x] Wolf, because he's a good boy, yes he is.

Additionally, what will Mathilde end up doing with her new dragon skull?
