Hey @BoneyM, did the We ever talk about where these other hives were last encountered? When there's plenty of food to go along, We and other-We - other hives of the creature - need not fight.

Skaven communication has a pheromone component that we can't replicate.
I want to imagine Kragg's realization that Mathilde is currently his best (probably only) customer. Not the king of K8P or the High King, but a shadow wizard that got too influenced by adventure books. Also, getting Kragg to make his greatest masterwork a sword for a human sounds like a hilarious prank Ranald would approve of.
Fortunately, a 25 favor Gromril weapon that hits like a cannonball shouldn't need to worry about it.We don't know why it's like that though. It could just be Gromril is inherently basically indestrucible, or it could be it's something in the forging, combined with the properties of the metal itself. Which would make sense to me, especially given the fact there's apparently three different ways to make the stuff, each of which gives it different properties.
I thought you were talking about what most people see on TV and call a longsword. Which were secondary weapons.
Cut through it? No, but they can still hurt someone in plate, unlike a shortsword which will pretty much just bounce off without really doing anything. Zweihanders and the like are mostly for giving unarmoured enemies a really bad time, while still not leaving yourself helpless against an armoured opponent like a smaller blade would.
The White Dwarf is basically a demigod, iirc, so maybe it was forged by the Ancestor Gods?Yeah, but they'd apparently never seen anything like Glimril before, so I'm guessing it's not just refined gromril which would be something that'd be part of something else they'd seen in at least their oldest holds I'd think.
Would you also be vote to train up Advanced Greatsword (when we find a suitable trainer/sparring partner)- and the associated WFB statline boost to WS5- to be more worthy of wielding it?But what really did it was the description of us reading the Libris Mortis. We got absurd traits out of it, and we literally just started. We're playing in the big leagues now - we should get a weapon befitting that position.
Not really, but it's why it'd be a greatweapon in fluff, but a handweapon mechanically IIRC.Fortunately, a 25 favor Gromril weapon that hits like a cannonball shouldn't need to worry about it.

They feel kind of linked.
What, no Arabyan Romances?
Would a conventional rat even be able to communicate that? I talked to the big two leg rat looking thing and it asked X is probably as far as it could get.
I mean, not really a customer, so much as the only person he begrudgingly finds to be worth the effort of forging things for personally; we don't pay him, these are technically all thank you gifts. It's just that dwarves apparently measure sentiment numerically, which makes more sense now that we know what they focus on in their romance novels.I want to imagine Kragg's realization that Mathilde is currently his best (probably only) customer. Not the king of K8P or the High King, but a shadow wizard that got too influenced by adventure books.
Oh yes, that sounds quite nice.Would you also be vote to train up Advanced Greatsword (when we find a suitable trainer/sparring partner)- and the associated WFB statline boost to WS5- to be more worthy of wielding it?

Yes, absolutely - I was in fact considering posting an argument in support of that myself.
Sure, and it would be a good excuse to hang out with the Priest of Gazul, too. Maybe we can spar with him or something?Would you also be vote to train up Advanced Greatsword (when we find a suitable trainer/sparring partner)- and the associated WFB statline boost to WS5- to be more worthy of wielding it?

It's not that the taking of the armor itself is Grudge-worthy, it's more, I'd like to try and mend the rift between the two competing ideologies in Dwarven culture. We don't have to give them the armor. We could use it for our own purposes. But using it to foster goodwill is a significant gesture, to me.Belear would know if this was grudge worthy, and if it was he wouldn't do it. He may be a pragmatist, but he's not an iconoclast. He's still a dwarven king. Dwarves keep dwarven loot they recover all the time. Thorek is famous for 'recovering' lost runes and runic items from fallen dwarven holds and settlements. We've also been told that gromil is too precious not to be reused, and that they've even recycled broken Anvils of Power, which are far more valuable than a suit on unruned armour.
Aside from the very strong "Belegars' Allies, Belegar (as Lord of the state) pays for the magic doodad" argument-[X] [ENCHANTMENT] An item enchanted with Talk With Beast to give to the spiders (3 favors)

Probably, and iirc, it also gives +1 A.The way I see it, we have the 18 months (3 Turns) that the weapon is being forged in to get Advanced Greatsword 3/3 and the associated trait to be worthy of it.
Aside from the very strong "Belegars' Allies, Belegar (as Lord of the state) pays for the magic doodad" argument-
Giving The We an item enchanted with Talk With Beast would also let them exchange Sound-with-meaning from not-We with Orcs, Goblins, Skaven, and pretty much any other language-using being.
I don't know that that's what we want to happen, speaking from the interests of K8P.
Mmm.The way I see it, we have the 18 months (3 Turns) that the weapon is being forged in to get Advanced Greatsword 3/3 and the associated trait to be worthy of it.
That seems like a fairly bold assumption? I can't conclusively gainsay it, but why would that be the case? It'd presumably have to be a spell variant being as it's invoked by the non-language-user... so it'd make sense to me if it worked as a 'The We to Other Language', as opposed 'Reikspiel to Any Other Thinking Creature' when Seija casts it.
