Still catching up with the posts after the update but if anyone is wondering what that gentle sobbing noise is it's just me watching my Panoramia/Anton ship go down in flames. :p

"Do tell Magister Johann to stop playing silly buggers. He can poke at the ratties if he really must, but it's unseemly to play pretend with our allies."
It would seem Johann has 'graduated' from curiosity to Issue. And we are now tasked with preventing him from becoming a Problem.

Wonder if Max knew?

How many of those little messages are there, anyway?"

"A few. Most of the big ones you'll probably never need.
I can't be the only one who heard that list and thought: "To Do'.

College Favour +17
some pending
A healthy supply. Favours of any sort are not the scarce resource we once thought.

"I could just marry you."
...nope.
As much as I love the adorable cinnamon bun he just doesn't fit well within the legend of Mathilde.

No Rune Fang or noble title but nonetheless that woman is the power in Stirland.
I wish her well with it.

- help the updates just keep getting longer
You say that like it is a bad thing.

One of the things I love about BoneyM's writings is that it feels like a living world. Anywhere we look things are happening. Anyone we interact with has something going on. We will probably never visit or even hear about the Vampire Coast but I am confident that if we did decide to poke the place there would be plots and schemes turning up by the time we got there.

She runs his life anyway. May as well make it official.

Seems less political than the others.
[X] Stay single. Marry for love.
Man managed to bag a dragon. I wouldn't bet against him finding love.
[X] Stay out of it.
With a staring point of 'Not Mathilde' we really have no right to dictate.

Are you a Wizard or not?

She could be, we delt with our journeymanlings well enough. Besides even if Mathilde finds that she hates raising kids Anton seems like he would love it.

Also nobility historicly very rarely functioned as their childrens primary caregivers.
I'm imagining Anton as a stay-at-home dad, and it's kind of perfect.
I think Mathilde would be a very doting mother the five days a year she was around.

No, the real problem is preventing her from trying to do something stupidly risky while pregnant.
There are actually turns where we don't go out and assassinate our enemies.

[X] Stay single. Marry for love.

I want this option so he can surprise and impress us when he pulls off shenanigans once again...

[X] Marry them...

... but I'm also approval voting for this, since Mathilde does not have the time to provide an heir, and it'd be unfair to Anton in multiple ways.

As for which position to take... they're all good!

"No role" is just boring, when we could instead take a huge step up on our career trajectory.

The one I'm least interested in is Internal Spymaster, though, so I suppose I'll approval vote all the others.

Question, did we pay off our EIC Debt this update? I didn't notice anything specific and given the mention of how the EIC is something to be watched for overreach and Stirland's cash flow difficulties it is something we should have done from a lot of perspectives. Plus the thread did want to even if we voted to spend most of it in K8P

First, you really should use the reply function. I know we're talking to each other because I've been quoting you, but to other readers not replying makes it hard to follow. Second, for me, it's not that there won't be someone there, but that I think that Mathilde would want to be a good parent, and that necessarily means hanging around a significant amount in Blutdorf.

That's not at all the attitude that Mathilde likely has, given the world she lives in. Ideas on parenting do not include being required to stick around for the vast majority of a child's life, but to see to their physical well being and growth. Being a part of your child's life does not necessitate giving up on the duties of your station, otherwise the entire social structure of the Empire would have fallen apart millenia ago.

Fair enough, if that's your view. I will continue to hold mine, nevertheless.

[X] Stay single. Marry for love.

Fairy tale endings are good and all, but I'm of the opinion that one shouldn't rely on chance for their life.

Love can be like a cannon in the face or a plant that grows with proper nourishment. We can do that with Anton, and both of them will benefit from having someone they can trust unconditionally in their lives.

I won't support throwing away this chance for a maybe.

The debt to Stirland for EIC purchase is now more or less a solved issue at this point. Friend Wilhelmina set it up so the debt can't be called early by Stirland, and EIC funds will pay it down with no action required on our part. Plus EIC will be the first buyer should Stirland sell Weber's debt, so double protection.

We gain a solid marriage and a strong relationship, as well as helping oversee the growth of a fledgeling human settlement in K8P and the possibility of creating the next Tobaro. May the Undumgi be a fine servant in the name of King Belegar!

We didn't, and we got told by moneywizardWilhelmina that it's a terrible idea. Debt terms are strict enough for the countess that she either waits for us to pay it on schedule over a long time or sells it to EIC at a large discount - and EIC would be willing and able to purchase it.

The debt can't be used against Mathilde unless hostile forces take over EIC first.

Come on, let's give Wilhelmina's shitty kids a good role model

You know what? Screw it, I think that holding out for a perfect match is silly and I like Anton a lot.
