[X] Naval Base San Diego. The Naval Defense Force is already hard pressed against the kaiju at the best of days. Not to mention that the Fifth Fleet's casualties and damaged vessels are still drydocked there, and cannot evacuate this deep into the repair cycles. Mercury V arriving is going to help, but it won't beat the kaiju to the punch. The Beowulf, however, can.

First off, what knackered the Fifth so hard they have significant numbers of ships in drydock but let those ships get back to port?

Second. "Pilots. To your ships."

@Basarin could we use the Kausens drop ship to transport our own men to the other battle site. The Kausen cant get involved but that should not mean that we cant take advantage of their dropship.

Poorly executed retrofits for upgrades, combined with legitimate battle damage against the odd kaiju surfacing.

's what happens when someone applies a garrison mindset to undeclared war against giant monsters.

That's a big no. Sorry to say, but the Metatrine's Shield is kind of noticeable.

[X] New York City. The Big Apple seems to draw all sorts of trouble, but its outskirts are being threatened by Westphalian warmachines in their usual eclectic glory. The Valiant is en route, but New York is going to see a lot of damage dealt before it's all said and done. However, you are in a position to at least head off the worst of the damage with the Beowulf.

Huunh, right. Reason we're the ones who need to be the heroes.
Wellp, Kaiju.
Sooo important bit we know is that if we cut crap off the Kaiju it'll need to grow it back. We also know it adapts, so it might not be a bad idea to try and change tactics on it so it doesn't get to just go full anti-percussive force or anti-thermal but has to mix&match. That's if we decide to go for MAXIMUM DAMAGE!
But I think the smarter play, even with Banner, is to go for the stalling game.
Don't commit to any offense that risks us more then we have to-Mercury is the guy who can take this thing out, our job is to well, job but avoid getting our crap kicked in while jobbing and wasting the Kaiju's time. Do it right and Beowulf might even get to pose with big brother Mercury before being whisked away. Do it wrong and we are really really really going to want another pilot.

I'm... Not certain that kaiju have tactical regen, or that they keep their physic buster stem cells when matured.
It's less about tactical regen and more about doing damage in a way Sheol can't just go 'eh, see me in the morning after you walk it off' and then send that Kaiju back out after like a week's worth of bed rest or so, given the Kaiju cells tend to self-destruct when seperated from the main body.
Crippling a Kaiju so that it eats into Sheol's RP budget can still be a win assuming we don't need to spend much ourselves on our own repairs...Though that's also me semi-assuming the bad guys work off a simmilar system as us instead of narrativium that gives them exactly enough power to be a meaningful threat.

On a side note, how could Configuration possibly help the Navy? I'm... Not actually sure. Hovercraft mechs? Powered armored DamCon and repair teams? Plug and play modular hull sections?

Unity Station is now receiving reports of firefights erupting in New York City. Initial reports are that the Westphalians have launched an attack en masse from the European District. Mander Security Solutions are being given a temporary expansion to their mandate, but they also aren't going to cross the pond in a timely manner.

So that's twice the Westphalians have snuck troops inside North America. So either someone is turning a blind eye to them or they have stealth transports.

Considering how they over engineer their stuff I can't say they don't have stealth transports but considering what we know of Chairforce and their boss I'm highly suspicious.

It's pretty straightforward. Far moreso than the diffuse force that the Westphaulians represent, the Kaiju is vulnerable to the concentrated firepower that the various heavy armaments y'all have developed thus far in the quest.

If you blast chunks of Kaiju, it'd make far more of a difference than wailing on Westphaulian throwaway prototypes until they field a more capable assault prototype meant to contend with Valiant.

More bang for yer buck, essentially.

Not even any real logical reason why I'm choosing this one, I just wanna see the Beowulf fight a Kaiju.

Oh right the vote.

As much as I want the Westphalians to cry out "It's a Gundam the Beowolf!" before they blow up we should take care of the Kaiju.

[X] Naval Base San Diego.

If Beowolf can make a good showing against a Kaiju without Mazinger Mercury V showing up it proves we have a solid platform.

The last interlude focused on Sheol shows he is callous enough that he might prematurely recycle a Kaiju even if it's only lightly injured because he thinks he could do better with the same biomass.

Is it possible to send the main force one way, and a flight of TMUs the other way? Because TMUs are, you know, planes?

Pacific Command is detecting what look to be an incoming kaiju bearing down onto the North American District's west coast. At its current heading, it will reach San Diego within six hours. Pacific Command is working with the Yukimura Institute to emergency lift Mercury V over, but they will not make it prior to the kaiju's arrival, and Naval Base San Diego cannot evacuate the vessels still drydocked for repairs.

ITZ happened! And not during december. How rude of you, Sheol!
Not ethat chances are the Westphalians will attempt to sneak a third force to attack our base at some point.

ou then push your alarm clock/coffee maker thoughtfully provided by Ignatov.

That's a good invention indeed.

While it's good you have the ability to respond to either of them, the reality of it is that the Pegasus can only make it to one place at a time to arrive and deploy its cargo properly.

Well drat, we have to get two of these ships. OR even better: Invent a magnetic catapult for instant deployment.

But we'd also probably get trashed in the process.

You man of little faith. Beowulf won't be owned so easily by a giant lizard, it already has defeated one example of each enemy factions, so now it's Kaiju time.

Well drat, we need to develop stealth tech.

Obviously, transforming ships that transform into giant mecha with oversized weapons.

+No brainer. Let's test our courage against giant lizards!
