Honestly look at what this looks like from a safferon power considering exploting the Hung's perspective.

If we keep fighting it says "back off, I'll fight you IRL you bastards! I don't even care MFer!"

Of we back off it says "open season for Hung lands"

We are impotent to Nohon's future, but THEY are well within marching range.

I am honestly not sure about the war option, but we need the kings bill.

That's actually a long time for a war to drag on, especially one that is so far from home in an era of comparatively little globalization.
Still doesn't beat the Russian caucasus campaign.

Still. When we can, in the far future, I want us to press the button and counter blockade Nohon as a reminder of an ancient promise.

Bonus points if we can hear the lamentations of the Empress when she signs the peace treaty.

(This might be a splitting headache speaking.)

We could start to greatly improve our medicine (germ theory, healing with that mysterious light, etc) with the King's Bill (SCIENCE), so why exactly people vote for the Veto is beyond me. If you want to remain state capitalist, then this is still very safe option.

[X][War] Uti possidetis - Peace out with limited gains (+1 Temp Happiness)
[X][Bill] 2 PW - Proper Living Bill (-1 Temp IC, -1 SoL, Settle Kyberi Action, +3 Temp SoL, +1 Edu, +1 Innovation, +4 Sell Crown Corp Uses, Conservatives Pleased Twice[+2 Temp Happiness])
[X][Rails] 1 PW - Yes please (Kielmyr Invest, gain +1 Railroads)

We have a laundry list of serious problems just over the horizon, no clear end goal here, and no real chance of victory. We have Word of AN that leaving has a good chance of serving as a wake-up slap for the Hung to grit their teeth and signing an unfavorable peace.

I think we are far better served by boosting SoL and Happiness before the inevitable depression. The current plan has us basically doing nothing at all, and I think that's very likely to end up angering our populace.

Leaving nosedives the Hung opinion of us, making much of our effort up until now meaningless. Also, it wakes them up by throwing them into the deep end of the pool without a life raft. Hung won't be in a state to survive that.

Also, Proper Living Bill raises our education, which also raises our perm consc, while dropping our perm SoL, and making our settlement situation worse.

Not a bad bill, per se, but it has significant downsides.

Because we can afford the sci boost next action without selling crown corps. The idea is we are likely to get germ theory ANYWAY.

You can just check math yourself and then post about it, you know.

Let's see, currently we have:
Consciousness 2 (5)
Standard of Living 7 (3)
Happiness 5 (2)/10
Next we have regen:
Consciousness 2 (3)
Standard of Living 7 (5)
Happiness 5 (5)/10
Next we have gain from midturn and statuses
Consciousness 1 (4)
Standard of Living 7 (5)
Happiness 5 (4)/10

So, unless something drops us by 3 happiness, we're safe. It's still a waste, IMO, but will not hurt.

This math is wrong. Our minimum consciousness is 2 so we will end up with Consciousness 2 (5).

Unless the same force that differentiates between animal and human cells can tell healthy from cancer cells.
Keep in mind, it does work on some animals:
such as for some strange reason it doesn't work on most creatures, only really men and a few other higher animals.
I'm curious what the limiting factor is. I suspect it would likely work on dolphins, elephants, the great apes, and possibly wolves and great cats.

Also crows. Crows are smart. If it works on crows then there are concerning theocratic implications.
Most definitely. I suppose the question then is if it is a brain/body mass thing, brain size thing, or something more abstract.

In the interests of interpreting this in a manner more like non-standard physics and less like what we think of as 'magic,' im going to go with the brain/body mass.

Or just the lifeforms with a specific genetic marker left behind when elder beings seeded this planet with life.

We have no clue.
