My comrades of the Upper and Lower House! For years now, we, together, led this nation through the tumultuous waters of world! And, despite the unrest and the actions of perfidious Sketch and Nohon, we have succeeded! The whole world acknowledges us as the foremost nation under the sun! In this success, one of the largest roles belongs to the Lord Petyrburg, the leader of the Liberal Party!

But, the time waits and spares no one, and so, the burden and the power must transferred. I, Lord Agymentin, once again offer my candidacy for this post!

My platform remains simple - despite the best efforts of the honorable Lord Petyrburg, our industrial capabilities are not used to their fullest. Railroad grand projects and lack of modern economic instruments left him without much needed weapons. But, today, we are armed to our fullest!

It is this I declare my goal - to reach our nation's true industrial might, and to use that might to the betterment of all! From the grand armies and fleets, to the hospitals and academies! From the increasing quality of life at home, to the far off ports that will bring most exotic goods! From railroad networks to every ally, to the sewer system in every city!

This is my platform, and it would be my largest honor and privilege to carry it out!

Well, in any case. I, Ryndom Mymbir, will once again put myself forward as candidate for the Urban Workers.

My agenda will consist of REPUBLICANISM infrastructure, infrastructure and yet more infrastructure. I will build sewers to make our cities clean, railroads to spread our factories across the country instead of having them all concentrated in the cities and hospitals to ensure a healthy population. In combination with building more factories to give more people jobs, obviously, that should go without saying. It is time we got greed out of politics and got a government run by the people, for the people!

Anyone may suggest themselves for any party, but only one, and if you are planning to switch party allegiance I suggest concocting a new in-game persona. I reserve the right to veto any out-of-character behaviours, like big business owners in politics attempting to become socialists.

I believe @Sivantic won the election, so unless I missed something, too, they're still leader of the Urban Workers' Party.

Speaking of which, I'm going to toss my hat into the ring for the Urban Workers' Party as well. Give me a bit to write up a longpost.

Well, for the brief moment that I'm still Leader, I hereby abolish all elections for the Urban Workers and declare myself Eternal President of the Party! Anyone who opposes me will be send to gulag!

Infrastructure is good, but we need materials and equipment if we want to build those things. For that we need to reach that ever distant land of enuff DAKKA Industrial Capacity

Focus will primarily be on Rapid Development with Secondary Focus on Railroads and Hospitals.

Have enough jobs for every man, even those that live in far off Kyberia!
 
My friends, I greet you this day! My name is Cytyno, a humble purveyor of the finest newspaper company in our great nation! With the recent seclusion of Lord Petyrburg from politics, I seek to become the supporting pillar of one of our most vital parties!

In the recent past, my paper came across a secret most shocking. The lifeblood of the nation, its people, has been wastefully spent to enrich those at the top of this very party. Their ill-thought out actions, incited by their greed, has damaged the very foundation of this party! This party's reputation has been soiled by those who claim to know what is best, all for the sake of appeasing their business interests!

How our opponents must have laughed, when our wretched leaders played to the unjust stereotype so often assigned to our party!

Who has not recently heard the common man speak of the Liberal party in terms of contempt? Who has not heard of the disgust so many now hold towards our party?

Disgust to the party that is responsible for the welfare of this nation! We have dragged this nation through the ages, to stand as a peer, nay, to stand above as the greatest power this world knows! Our industry and technology surge ever further each year, buoyed by this great party!

After all, was it not Liberal's that aided His Majesty in clawing out every ounce of industry that was possible? Was it not the Liberal's voice that called again and again for a focus on the welfare of our people? For there to be jobs for all men who needed them?

Make no mistake, my friends, industrial might is the future of this nation. It is through industry that we shall continue on, as the respected Lord Petyrburg has often claimed.

But the actions of those who have taken power since Lord Petyrburg's absence is unconscionable. Our current position is untenable.

That is why I aske for you to vote for me! We shall make this party anew! From the ashes of the Liberals shall rise a greater party, one that matches the future that we seek!

Vote for Cytyno! For I shall bring a Reorginization to this Fallen Party, and with it a Rebirth!

Fellow party members, think for a moment. What has Syvyntic done during the past six, SIX, years that he has been our Leader? Nothing! Not a single thing. He hasn't managed to pass a single bill, not a single of his proposed policies through Parliament.

Friends, ask yourselves this, do you really want someone this ineffectual to be your Leader for another SIX years? Do you want another SIX years of no change as the Royalists, Conservatives and Liberals squander away our nation's resources and even the lives of our very children in order to fill their own pockets, to satisfy their own greed?!

On the other hand, I have not attempted to oust our glorious Haddyth and instigate a revolution that has plagued Syffron for decades.

Our time will come citizens! We may be of humble beginnings, but we are many and our voice will be heard!

They aren't actually mad about the state part, they're mad that our leaders used the army to make money instead of win the war.

Crown Corps aren't the problem essentially, it's the fact that it looks like our leaders got bribed into making a risky choice that backfired.

I read it as profit won while people bleed, and the perception of another rail company with fresh imagery of blood toll is kinda negative. It's not like the population will care about the difference when some groups floats half truth. Shame that we can't purge crackdown suppress unhappiness. Maybe an internal intrigue?

The RRC is going to Khem, so it won't be involved in the war, and is actually seen as a positive thing for us and the Khem.

Also, we totally can suppress unhappiness. We just do it indirectly by lowering Consciousness, and it in turn raises militancy.

Or by infusing the DC with cash via temp SoL. Selling a crown corp every turn makes a good deal of sense for the 0 PW +1 temp SoL.
