Hopefully he exercises.

For some reason I envision him as being bad-ass as a staff fighter - as a King he should not kill those he is arguing with, but he does take pleasure in beating the idiots who debate him.

Beating them with a stick.

I am aware that this is not reflected in any materials posted, but I don't care. :D Also:

"Cast in the mould of gods and heroes of old, he was all the talk of courts across the world, the standard by which other kings were measured"

That was nice to read :D

Drink this (sugar water) potion. Eat these specific vegetables. Touch your toes three times and spin in place. Lastly, sobriety check.

Ok, good to go for metagreen workouts.

Actually, electrolyte sugar water and a solid meal are likely REALLY good ideas before an intense metagreen workout.

Actually, working to exaustion, eating, THEN resting in a metagreen room is likely more practical than a metagreen workout room.

Turn the green room into a bathhouse with showers. Go work out, eat, then rest in a nice rejuvinating bath. Tell them the salts in the water speed recovery.
Actually I'm pretty sure the Metagreen training involves a customized diet with enough calories to turn the average man into Snorlax. We could credit the diet well enough once we get there.
So you are saying research metagreen training, decrease the conscription age to 12 and turn the first term in the army into a mix if highschool and boot camp.

Train and learn basic reading and math from age 12 to 18. Graduate a litterate giant of a ubermench.
Hmm...
Possibly, but it will be expensive as fuck to set up with your current tech level. Like, probably not currently viable and will require a few generations to get there.
...actually considering our metagreen playrooms, I think we could probably run a class but not a school for it yet.
Something like a batch of 100 children(not 100 per year, 100 flat, until the first batch graduates), taken from age 8 to 18, trained under metagreen, with an enhanced diet and curriculum.

Might not be a bad use for orphaned children of soldiers to receive state care and training.

Taking small children at a young age...

Seperate them from all other authority and society...

Put them through a state of the art physical conditioning program while educating them to be smart AND strong...

Deck them out in the best weapons and equipment we can...

We shall call it the Spartan project.

[X] [Science] Collaboration would be useful (Kielmyr gain information on Spectroscopy, boost chemistry knowledge for both groups, tiny chance of metalight knowledge leaking
[X] [Yenyna] Royal Museum of Antiquities - This exciting new field of old things is both prestigious and sufficiently traditional to be a good fit for royalty

TBH, I'm not willing to give that much of a chance of metagreen leaking for an increased science payout. We already got a huge boost with that inorganic chem jump. Sure, our rivals may not be able to duplicate metagreen, but it would significantly increase their investment in an area I'm happy to let them stagnate in.

Oh this just popped into my head after reading.

@Academia Nut , how likely would there be synergy between discovering the highly regimented and social stratification and whole bunch of other traits of the late Empire and how only our nobles are likely the only ones who can afford to keep their kids getting greened.

I want trees, not that nonsense again.

It's probably baseless but something we all may have to consider if we continue moving forward with this supersoldier program.

None of this nonsense would ever happen with treemen I tell you.

Eh, I am less concerned about Kielmyr.
They seem to have realized that they are too small to prosper alone, and want a long term strategic alliance. Even if some information leaks, they would only become more interested in keeping tight ties with us.

True. They must be gorging on a diet similar to Chankonabe. Increased repair and growth would be highly energy intensive. A normal diet cannot provide that amount of calories.

People would just assume that kids are turning into giants because of the way we overfeed them.

We shall call it the Spartan project.

Or maybe the Stormtrooper Academy.

Inserted tally

So, one vote difference between Archaeology and Military right now. Personally fine with either winning, since both can be used to enhance Yenyna's control over the Empire in her own way.

You better get ready for Divinely Glorious Elites 2.0: Metagreen Boogaloo then. After all, history repeats itself: the first time as a tragedy, the second time as a farce.

DO NOT WANT. DO NOT WANT AT ALL.

Even now, from beyond the grave, Purity may fuck us over once more.
I suspect we might not be as screwed as we think we are in this aspect because in order to do that, they have to go straight through the ash layer and horrifying records of the Khan, making it seem like the adoption of these traits was a direct chain of cause and effect.

Dymytry Grows Up
Dymytry looked out over the harbour as he gathered his thoughts.

It is a strange thing to wake up one day and realize you are taller than your father. All of my life I looked up to father. He was strong. He was noble. He was a soldier and general with no peer. He was everything I thought a man should strive to be. He would come home from campaign with stories of the furthest reaches of Kyberia, or of the deserts of Khem, or of the jungles of Kus within the Black Sheep Empire.

It was a wonderous thing for a child, to have him smile and look down at me with pride. He had all these stories, and yet he wanted to know about me. How my studies went, how much I had grown, how much stronger I was...

And then one year he took me with him to court. It was time to learn of the crown and king and lords. I followed with my head held high. I was my father's son, and where he walked, I followed. I was loyal to the crown above all. King and country and family.

I met the princess. I fought for her. I bled for her. Over the few years she ordered me around as some sort of private retainer I watched her grow. I grew as well, stronger, bigger. My father listened to my stories of honor duels and debates with pride as we shared our evening meal each day.

And then the crown called for my service and I was away with honor.

Throughout my initial term of service to the crown I kept in touch through letters. I perfected my shot with a rifle and showed the rest of my officer class the strength of the Romynof Wrestling System when it came time to show feats of strength in combat, just as potent in my style as when it was invented by my great grand uncle Spytz.

I served a deployment in Khemtry. First lieutenant and then captain I served under the officer exchange directing troops teaching the desert dwellers good old fashioned Ymaryn excelency in martial endeavors.

And then Saffron lit itself on fire and it fell to the crown to set the continent right again before religious fanatics and Ochior tore it to pieces again.

I served. I served with honor.

I may never get the stink of blood and powder out of my head. The screams of dying men and horses... The blast of canon fire and the crackle of volley fire...

I served with honor. That is all that can be said. There is no room in war for pride. That would require something in that hell one could be proud of.

But I served. I got as many of my men home as I was able. I tried to see each body before it was shipped home.

Sometimes there was too little to send, or the body was too mangled to identify. Just an empty space in rolecall after a battle...

And then it was time to ship home. The king peaced with Orchior and used that opening to turn on the Tortun fanatics like a hammer.

I was relieved. It was over. The great levi of soldiers all marched home to farm and factory flush with pay and spoils. I took only my script, as my father would want me to. A Romynof is humble. Our wealth comes from deep roots like an oak tree, not scavenge from bloody war.

Still, home was the best sounding thing in many years.

The last leg of the journy was a short voyage past Trelli and to the capitol. My father and an officer awaited me at the docks.

I saluted the officer. Both he and my father saluted back.

My father looked up at me with pride.

When did I grow taller than him? Did he somehow shrink, or am I somehow now larger than the man in my memories...

"Orders for your deployment Captain Romynof." The crisp voice of command from the officer snapped me out of my thoughts. He handed me a packet andnturned sharply to depart.

"But I just got back..." I sighed. A Romynof serves I supose. I looked to see what ship I was to board and return to fighting somewh...

Royal Guard?

The Princess? She was to be married. A Kiel prince was comeing to wed her. Her guard was to expand. By her preference I was to deploy to protect her.

Royal Guard... The world turns and time passes. Boys grow into men and men grow old.

And at some point I was suddenly taller than my father.

It was a strange thing.

Dymytry looked back from the sun setting over the water and met his father's eyes with pride. He was not set to deploy just yet, and they had stories to tell and a meal to share.

For he may be taller than his father, his father was still everything a man could hope to be... And to exceed.

There was a several century (closer to a millenium) delay between the adoption of that idea and the khan, so while your scholars know that the OYE was badly ossified and spending way too much time in peacocking by elites by the time of the Fall, there is no super direct causal link. If anything it will be that the elites shifted away from "practical" things to be elite about rather than the competition itself being a problem.

I withdraw my previous statement. We're totally fucked.

[X] [Science] Collaborate with extra funding (-1 temp SoL, boost Science research, Kielmyr gain significant information on Spectroscopy, significantly boost chemistry knowledge for both groups, small chance of metalight knowledge leaking)

[X] [Yenyna] Royal Museum of Antiquities - This exciting new field of old things is both prestigious and sufficiently traditional to be a good fit for royalty

We need a direct hand in shaping how our people take from history.

I REFUSE TO RETURN TO THAT AGE. IM DRAGGING SACRED FOREST OUT OF THAT BROKEN HOME AND MOVING IN WITH HER AND STARTING A HEALTHY HAPPY RELATIONSHIP.
